  • This paper is presented to a theory comparing each different systems by quantitatively analyzing reliability. availability, maintenance and safety. Reliability R(t) produced by the method here is used for MTBF calculation of system as reliability of normal state. It is possible to produce the failure rate of unsafety state through modelization of system only to use the failure rate, after yielding the failure rate of failure mode to each unsafety sate in case that unsafety state is defined with the function of systems applied.

  • This paper rotates to tile FPGA that is reffered to as the UTOSPI. The design goal of the FPGA is to convert the UTOPIA-3 bus interface to the SPI-3 bus interface, so that the SAR chips on the ATM interface board can be interfaced to the packet processor through this FPGA. We Propose a new architecture that has two Dual Port RAMs and flow control signals. To buffer data, the UTOSPI has a Dual port RAM in the receive direction and the same size of that in the transmit direction. This design has been implemented, compiled, and tested using a Xilinx Virtex-I XCV-300E FPGA.

  • In this paper, we present a message transfer scheme for efficient message passing in the hierarchically structured multiprocessor computer SPAX(Scalable Parallel Architecture computer based on X-bar network). The message transfer scheme provides interface not only with operating system but also with end users. In order to transfer two types of control message and data message efficiently, it supports both of memory-mapped transfer and DMA-based transfer. Dual-port RAMs are used as message buffers, and control and status registers provide efficient programming interface. Interlaced parity scheme is adopted for error control. If any error is detected at receiving node, errored packet is resent by sender according to retry mechanism. In conjunction with retry mechanism, watchdog timers are used to protect infinite waiting and repeated retry. The proposed message transfer scheme can be applied to input/output nodes and communication connection nodes as well as processing nodes in the SPAX.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to estimate the lifetime of commercial passenger vehicles shock absorber using degradation test and data. Method: The degradation factor of shock absorber was determined to be a damping force using FMEA. Degradation test was performed on damping force under real world usage condition and analysed the degradation data. Results: To estimate the lifetime of shock absorber, a degradation model was developed and a numerical example was provided. Conclusion: Evaluation of the lifetime of commercial and military vehicles shock absorber will be possible by using the proposed degradation analysis method.

  • The maintenance CALS system for car of urban transit is a part of standardization and development of urban transit system, and We have been performed the establishment of maintenance CALS system from 2001 to 2005. These 2D and 3D configuration management system are utilized in a variety of CALS system for user's convenience and safety in maintenance. In this paper, the 2D and 3D configuration system will be discussed for necessity and possibility. This system include RAMS(reliability, availability, maintainability and safety) of the vehicles shall be enhanced in the future.

A Numerical Study on the Mechanism of Lee Vortex in the Lee of Large Scale Mountain

  • Understanding the nonlinear flow caused by orographic effects can be valuable in siting of new businesses, industries, and transportation facilities. In spite of recent work on large-amplitude waves and wave breaking, the studies of flow around large scale mountains have just begun. The generative mechanism of lee vortices in the lee of large scale mountain Is investigated by Ertel's theorem. The CSU RAMS is used as a numerical model. According to the numerical results, the isentropes are depressed behind the large scale mountains. This means the vortex lines must run upward and downward along the depression surface because vortex lines adhere to isentropic surfaces. Therefore, the vertically oriented vorticity can be formed in the lee of the large scale mountain. This vorticity plays an important role for orographic Precipitation, because strong vertical velocity and cloud bandy are developed along isothermal deformation surface.

  • In this paper, we develop a dual-duplex system which detects a fault by hardware comparator and switches to hot standby redundancy. This system is designed on the basis of MC68000 and can be used in VMEbus. To improve reliability, the dual-duplex system is designed in dual modular redundancy. The failure rate of electrical element is calculated in MILSPEC-217F, and the system RAMS(Reliability, Availiability, Maintainability and Safety) and MTTF(Mean Time to Failure) are evaluated by Markov modeling method. As the evaluation result shows improved reliability, it can be used as a component hardware for a highly reliable control system.

  • Korea Railroad Research Institute(KRRI) has developed the rubber-tired AGT system from 1999 to 2005. The rubber-tired AGT system is now on test for its performance and function at the test line in Gyeong-San. This paper is concerned with the recent development of the AGT system and its reliability evaluation technology which are now being applied in test line. Also, we made the reliable program to assure required the RAMS((reliability, availability, maintainability & safety) of the AGT system.

  • Today, it is a time when self-help efforts are being made to increase the demand for international certification by domestic and foreign railway orderers and develop excellent railway systems for railway system and railway construction projects. Since 2011, cases of obtaining international certification related to the domestic railway system/products have been collected and analyzed through literature and Internet data and based on the analysis results, evaluation results on the acquisition of international certification in Korea are presented. Through these results, the government, research institutes, and industries will be practical reference materials for international certification-related work.

항공사진분석 자료를 이용한 2차원 하천흐름 해석모형의 검증 (Verification of Two Dimensional Hydrodynamic Model Using Velocity Data from Aerial Photo Analysis)

  • 수리해석 모형들은 하천의 흐름에 대한 연구에 이용되거나, 수공구조물의 설계 및 하천의 설계 등 실무에 널리 사용되고 있다. 이들 수리해석 모형은 실측자료를 통한 보정이 필요하나, 홍수시 유속을 측정하는 것 자체가 위험한 작업이기 때문에 홍수시 하천의 2차원 유속분포에 대한 실측자료가 전무한 실정이다. 이러한 이유로 2차원 수치모형의 결과는 보통 몇 개 지점의 실측된 자료를 비교함으로써 보정 및 검증을 실시하고 있다. 더욱이 설계 홍수량에 대한 모형의 보정은 1차원 모형인 HEC-RAS의 모의결과를 이용하여 보정하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 일본의 토네강(Tone river)에서 홍수시 촬영한 항공사진을 분석하여 추출한 유속벡터 자료를 이용하여 하천설계 실무 및 연구 등에 널리 사용되어지고 있는 2차원 수치모형인 RAMS의 RAM2, SMS의 RMA2와 1차원 모형인 HEC-RAS 모형의 검증을 실시하였다. 또한, HEC-RAS결과를 이용한 2차원 모형의 보정에 대한 타당성을 검토하였다. 검토결과, HEC-RAS 및 RAM2, RMA2 모형의 수위모의 결과 모두 관측점의 수위와 비슷한 결과을 보이고 있었으나, 유속모의의 경우 고수부지에서의 2차원 모형에 의한 유속결과와 항공사진으로부터 추출된 유속결과가 차이를 보이고 있었다. 또한, 1차원 모형에 의한 결과와 항공사진으로부터 추출된 유속장을 단면평균한 유속과 비교한 결과 큰 오차가 발생하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
