Cognitive Radio 환경을 고려한 에너지 효율적인 MAC 프로토콜 (An Energy-efficient MAC Protocol in Cognitive Radio Environment)

  • 현재 무선 환경통신에서 점차 고갈되어가는 주파수를 효율적으로 사용하기 위해서 새로운 접근 방법이 개발되었다. Cognitive Radio는 디바이스가 동작하는 환경의 정보에 근거하여 자신의 송수신 방법을 바꿀 수 있는 장비를 말한다. 현재 무선 모바일 디바이스를 대상으로 하는 무선통신표준들은 절전모드에 대해서 다루고 있으며, 대부분 전력절감을 위하여 데이터 송신과 수신에 대한 전원을 차단하는 방법을 이용한다. 하지만 Cognitive Radio 환경에서는 모든 디바이스들이 채널을 검색하기 위해서 Quiet Period를 두고 있으며, 기존의 에너지 절감 방법으로는 Cognitive Radio 환경에 응용하기에는 적합하지 않다. 본 논문에서는 Cognitive Radio 환경에서 무선 모바일 디바이스를 위한 에너지 효율적인 MAC 프로토콜을 제안하고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 일반적으로 사용되는 에너지관리 방법과 제안한 방법을 비교하여 성능이 향상되었음을 확인한다.

무선기기 보호를 위한 ISM 기기의 방사 한계치에 관한 연구 (Study on Radiation Limit of ISM Equipment for Protecting Radio Device)

  • 본 논문은 최근 급증하는 ISM(Industrial Scientific Medical) 기기 및 무선기기의 사용 증가에 따라 ISM 기기와 무선기기가 인접한 공간에서 운용될 경우 상호간에 간섭이 예측되는 상황에서, ISM 기기와 무선기기 상호간에 간섭 없이 양립할 수 있도록 ISM 기기의 방사 한계치 산출 방법을 제시하였다. ISM 기기의 방사 한계치는 원하는 무선기기의 신호에 무선기기 보호를 위해 요구되는 보호비를 적용하고 이에 보정 요소를 고려하여 산출한다. 이어서 한계치 산출이 요구되는 시나리오를 제시함과 동시에 Matlab GUI(Graphical User Interface)를 이용한 방사 한계치 산출 S/W를 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 ISM 기기의 방사 한계치 산출 방법은 ISM 기기로부터 무선기기를 보호하기 위한 방안으로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

  • 본 논문은 산업현장 뿐만 아니라 가정의 일생생활에서 그 사용이 점차 증가하고 있는 유도성 시스템과 기존의 무선기기에 대한 간섭에 관한 것이다. 자계강도 간섭 신호를 방사하는 유도성 시스템의 간섭을 분석하기 위한 모델을 제시하였고 이 모델을 바탕으로, 측정을 통해 구해진 유도성 시스템의 자계강도는 마그네틱 다이폴 모멘트로 변환되고 무선기기의 허용 가능한 간섭 레벨을 고려하여 유도성 시스템으로부터 무선기기를 보호하기 위해 요구되는 이격 거리를 산출하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또한, 실제 적용 가능한 시나리오를 설정하고 본 논문에서 제시한 방법을 이용하여 유도성 시스템으로부터 무선기기를 보호하기 위한 이격거리를 산출하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 이격 거리 산출 방법은 유도성 시스템과 무선기기의 양립성 확보에 기여할 것이다.

스마트 기기를 이용한 무선호출용 DID구현에 대한 연구 (A Study on DID Implementation for Wireless Calling System using Smart-device)

  • In this time, as an industrial society developed to a welfare society, more and more people want their quality of lives upgraded and specially customized service by mass production/mass consumption. And it leads to an increase of requiring service. There're active developments and studies on various IT equipment as the requirement made IT devices used in service. In this paper, we try to design and realize radio paging DID by using smart device to be used as a receiver of a radio pager which is broadly used at face to face service. Firstly, we used MCU to design and implement Wireless Calling Gateway which change radio calling signal of ISM band to smart device. A receiver of wireless caller used original receiver module. Also it used bluetooth module to communicate with smart device. It was possible to have satisfactory communication since radio paging signal converter and smart device were linked in 3M. Secondly, to indicate various paging information delivered from a radio pager, we realized DID application program by using Smart PAD. As a result, we could indicate various information compared to an original receiver which only could indicate letters or numeric data. Secondly, we implemented the DID app for wireless calls that can display a variety of information sent from a wireless pager. Was implemented using the Smart Pad. As a result, it is shown that can display a variety of information than the existing receiver.

  • This paper begin a new approach in the water-gate control using radio communication. The dissertation is on the controllable device development of water-gate in the remote distance from water-gate trough the transceiver by radio communication. The proposed water-gate control device is simpe in structure, an suitable for implementation of water-gate control in the remote distance. The remote controller water-gate device inspected the up and down motion of water-gate through the LCD displayer, so that it was very safety driving about the surroundings imformation, over loading and position of water-gate, and so on.

A Prototype System for Early-Stage Breast Cancer Detection

  • The early detection of breast cancer is very important. The final goal of this study is to develop an inexpensive portable device for simply detecting the existence of breast cancer using microwaves. In this study, we proposed a detection algorithm and the system configuration of such a device. The feasibility of the proposed method was investigated by numerical simulation and actual measurement. A prototype sensing module was fabricated, and the measurement results for tumor phantoms were presented. The measurement results showed that the prototype sensing module worked well, and the simulation results revealed that the detection rate of the device could be about 60% for a 4 mm tumor and almost 100% for a 6 mm tumor. The proposed device can be used for the self-diagnosis of breast cancer. Further study is required to reduce the size of the sensing module.

면허기반 주파수 공동 사용을 위한 멀티모드 단말기 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Multi-mode Mobile Device for supporting License Shared Access)

  • Recently, as the heterogeneous network (HetNet) has been deployed widely to support various kinds of Radio Access Networks(RANs) with a combination of Macro, Pico, and/or Femto cells, research and standardization efforts have been very active regarding the concept of Licensed Shared Access (LSA) for supporting spectrum sharing. In order for a mobile device to efficiently support the spectrum sharing, the mobile device shall be reconfigurable, meaning that its radio application code has to be adaptively changed in accordance with the hopping of desired spectral band. Especially, Working Group 2 (WG2) of Technical Committee (TC) Reconfigurable Radio System (RRS) of European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) has been a main driving force for developing standard architecture for Multi-mode Mobile Device (MD) that can be applied to the LSA system. In this paper, we introduce the Multi-mode MD architecture for supporting LSA-based spectrum sharing. An implementation of a test-bed of Multi-mode MD is presented in order to verify the feasibility of the standard MD architecture for the purpose of LSA-based spectrum sharing through various experimental tests.

Remote Impedance-based Loose Bolt Inspection Using a Radio-Frequency Active Sensing Node

  • This paper introduces an active sensing node using radio-frequency (RF) telemetry. This device has brought the traditional impedance-based structural health monitoring (SHM) technique to a new paradigm. The RF active sensing node consists of a miniaturized impedance measuring device (AD5933), a microcontroller (ATmega128L), and a radio frequency (RF) transmitter (XBee). A macro-fiber composite (MFC) patch interrogates a host structure by using a self-sensing technique of the miniaturized impedance measuring device. All the process including structural interrogation, data acquisition, signal processing, and damage diagnostic is being performed at the sensor location by the microcontroller. The RF transmitter is used to communicate the current status of the host structure. The feasibility of the proposed SHM strategy is verified through an experimental study inspecting loose bolts in a bolt-jointed aluminum structure.

멀티모드 단말기의 라디오 라이브러리를 위한 표준 기능 블록의 선정 및 구현 (Selection and implementation of Standard Functional Blocks for Radio Library in multi-mode mobile device)

  • The European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) Technical Committee (TC) Reconfigurable Radio Systems (RRS) is standardizing the multi-mode Mobile Device (MD). The configuration of multi-mode MD is determined by the downloaded mobile communication standard software. In this paper, we introduce the Radio Library concept for multi-mode MD which is one of the key components of RRS standard. This paper also introduces the Standard Functional Block which is a part of Radio Library. A method for selecting efficiency SFBs for multi-mode MD is presented and a Radio Library is generated based on the selected SFBs. This paper also shows sample Standard Functional Block Set which included in Radio Library. In order to verify the compatibility of the generated Radio Library which was made by C language, we implement the LTE Rel-10 and Wi-Fi(802.11b) to show the efficiency of generating a mobile communication standard software based on the Radio Library. Then using the Prograph Visual Programming MartenTM 1.6.4, we compiled our LTE Rel-10 and Wi-Fi(802.11b) source code.

  • This paper describes characteristics for insertion losses of Isolator have an effect on material parameter. One purpose of the paper is to present insertion loss on this resonator for magnetic loss, dielectric loss, magnetic field and saturation magnetization. Another is to study the effect of propeller resonator on response characteristics. In this paper, the analysis and measurement of the response characteristics were carried out for the isolator prototype. The measurement results agreed on the simulation results and acquire insertion loss $0.18\;{\sim}\;0.24dB$, return loss 27dB, isolation 27dB and bandwidth 500MHz on this condition saturation magnetization 550G, dielectric loss 0.0004, magnetic loss 20 and dielectric constant 14.
