An Error Pattern ROM Compression Method for Continuous Data (연속된 데이터를 위한 에러패턴 ROM 압축 기법)

  • This paper proposes a new error pattern ROM (EP-ROM) compression method for continuousdata. The EP-ROM reduces the ROM size by dividing the continuous data into coarse values and their errors and by storing the indices of error patterns instead of the non. This method significantly reduces the ROM size by exploiting the characteristic that the errors for continuous data possess the same patterns. The experiment results show that the EP-ROM achieves 60∼77% ROM size reductions for various continuous data.

  • A new ROM compression method for continuous data is proposed. The ROM compression method is based on two proposed ROM compression algorithms. The first one is a region select ROM compression algorithm that stores only regions including data after dividing data into many small regions by magnitude and address. The second is a quantization ROM and error ROM compression algorithm that divides data into quantized data and their errors. Using these algorithms, 40~60% ROM size reductions aye achieved for various continuous data.

  • A new direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDFS) is proposed. The DDFS uses a new ROM compression method that divides each ROM in the conventional DDFS into two ROMs (a quantization ROM and an error ROM). The total size of the ROMs in the proposed DDFS is significantly reduced compared to the original ROM. The ROM compression ratio of 78 is achieved for a DDFS with 12bit output data. A DDFS with 12bit output data for sine function was implemented in a 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS technology. The power dissipation is 9.56㎽ at 100MHz with 3.3V and the maximum operating clock frequency is 330MHz.

  • CD-ROM technique, not more than 10 years after development, goes through rapid growth, has been taken advantage of several practical application parts. Needless to say about bibliographic data, numeric value, the phonetics, an image and a picture data that are recorded as abstract or full text, and offered and applied to industry, information service including library, it can be used for library staffs, information retrieval. Escape from the need of one disc drive and one computer to access one disc, now we organize an ideal system that can be retrieved several CD-ROM used only one drive, several users can access several information, so networking is possible through LAN. In this article, we studied the function and type, characteristics, system, structure, data block, production procedure, standardization of CD-ROM LAN.

  • 본고는 아직 우리들에게 생소한 분야인 CD-ROM(Compact Disk-Read Only Memory)이라고 하는 정보매체가 어떻게 Audio CD에서 발전하여 컴퓨터의 Data Storage의 매체로 탄생되었는지에 대해 다음과 같은 내용을 해설하였다. 첫째는 매체로서의 잇점과 그것을 정보전달매체로서 이용하였을 때의 특징에 대하여 기술하였으며 둘째는 실제로 CD-ROM을 사용한 시스팀으로서는 어떠한 형태로 되는가,Application을 염두에 두고 생각한다. 셋째는 데이터의 가공에서 디스크의 제작에 이르기까지의 과정에 대하여 기술하였으며 끝으로 장래의 전망과 문제점에 대하여 간단히 기술하였다.

  • DVD(Digital Versatile Disk) is the data storage media devised to make high storage density and high data input/output possible. Therefore higher rotational speed and better accuracy in optical pick-up are required compared with the existing optical storage device. These operational functional requirements are concerned with abilities of optical storage device. Especially, High rotational speed is deeply concerned with the noise and vibration of optical storage device, is important problem in development of optical storage device so much. This paper propose a new concept ROM media of optical storage device named as Cylindrical ROM media, and evaluate this by means of Axiomatic approach and empirical data.

  • This study intended to examine and analyze current status of CD-ROM use in reference and information service in major university libraries. 66 university libraries with holdings of over 200,000 were selected throughout the country, and questionnaires were sent out by mail for data collection. Current status of CD-ROM use, some issues and problems on CD-ROM searching by reference librarians and users, and future trends of CD-ROM use were examined. Few suggestions were made for the effective CD-ROM use in reference and information service.

  • Generally, the digital circuit card can be tested by automatic test equipment using LASAR(Logic Automated Stimulus and Response). This paper proposes the ROM data extracting algorithm which can test the digital circuit card that consists usually ROMs. We are implemented of the proposed fault detecting program by LabWindow/CVI 8.5 and the digital automatic test instrument with NI-VXI(National Instrument - Versa Bus Modular Europe eXtentions for Instrumentation) card. We also make an interface circuit board connecting the digital test instrument and the digital circuit card. It shows the good performance of getting the data from ROMs.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate range of motion (ROM) and muscle activities according to the skills of Surya Namaskara in Vinyasa Yoga. Six females (skilled 2, unskilled 4) of university students participated in this experiment. The research factors were ROM and muscle activities for static poses on Surya Namaskara in Vinyasa Yoga. The six infrared cameras (Oqus 300, Qualisys Inc, Sweden) and Zero Wire EMG (Aurion, Italy) were used to acquire raw data, and the Qualisys Track Manager and Noraxon (MyoResearch XP Master Edition, USA) were used to process data. The %MVIC and ROM were analyzed with Visual 3D (C-Motion Inc, USA) and Noraxon. In conclusion, ROM and %MVIC between two groups were remarkable different according to the static poses of Yoga, therefore instructors have to provide step-by-step information that was suitable to themselves (ROM and EMG of poses).

  • When we transformed from Monochrome-data to Color-data in text mode, we used hardware-method to design the circuit which is convertible in real time. We saved color information in every screens that can make screen in Color Palette ROM and it is also generated 8bit. lower 4bit assign foreground color and upper 4bit can design to have background color. We have Address Reduction ROM to remove repeated address and reduce volume of Color Palette ROM to 1/16. Besides, we have many D-FF to save address, data and page information temporarily after that, we have management process 8 times through counter in real time. Finally, we chose either foreground color or background color in multiplex and established color information was sended to the color video controller. Thus, you can use it as a good interface when yow transfer many control devices with Monochrome display (ex, LCD Monitor) into devices with Color display.
