  • This study collects social big data used in various fields in the past 9 years and explains the patterns of major keywords of the arboretums and botanical gardens to use as the basic data to establish operational strategies for future arboretums and botanical gardens. A total of 6,245,278 cases of data were collected: 4,250,583 from blogs (68.1%), 1,843,677 from online cafes (29.5%), and 151,018 from knowledge search engine (2.4%). As a result of refining valid data, 1,223,162 cases were selected for analysis. We came up with keywords through big data, and used big data program Textom to derive keywords of arboretums and botanical gardens using text mining analysis. As a result, we identified keywords such as 'travel', 'picnic', 'children', 'festival', 'experience', 'Garden of Morning Calm', 'program', 'recreation forest', 'healing', and 'museum'. As a result of keyword analysis, we found that keywords such as 'healing', 'tree', 'experience', 'garden', and 'Garden of Morning Calm' received high public interest. We conducted word cloud analysis by extracting keywords with high frequency in total 6,245,278 titles on social media. The results showed that arboretums and botanical gardens were perceived as spaces for relaxation and leisure such as 'travel', 'picnic' and 'recreation', and that people had high interest in educational aspects with keywords such as 'experience' and 'field trip'. The demand for rest and leisure space, education, and things to see and enjoy in arboretums and botanical gardens increased than in the past. Therefore, there must be differentiation and specialization strategies such as plant collection strategies, exhibition planning and programs in establishing future operation strategies.

The collected data was SPSS ver. Using the 18.0 statistical program, descriptive statistics and the importance and priority of each component were analyzed by hierarchical structure analysis. First, unlike the needs of users, the cognitive rehabilitation support programs currently being provided are not sufficient and require considerable experience. It was found to be low, and the areas for improvement were the expansion of care and protection facilities and the development of various programs to meet the needs of users. Second, the importance and priority of each component of therapeutic recreation were categorized into 6 major categories: exercise therapy , middle category (16 items) behavior-centered approach to exercise therapy, small category (47 items) strength and brain gymnastics, and silver health gymnastics were the highest. This result shows that a multidimensional program plan that considers the priorities of each area must be made when developing a therapeutic recreation program.

  • Despite there have been m?my studies about the relationships between congestions and satisfaction in outdoor recreation field, the results indicated only weak impacts of congestions on the satisfaction. This study thus aims to investigate the influence of waiting situation on the whole valuation and satisfaction of guests at theme parks using new variables such as 'goal attainment' and then to suggest implications for waiting management. This study shows meaningful theoretical implications. First, congestion influences the satisfaction more strongly when it prevents guests from achieving their plan. Second, management of waiting time is important and the can be controlled well. When guests have something interested during the waiting time, they were satisfied with the quality of waiting time and overall experience in the theme park.

  • The purpose of the present research is to study the recreational use of German Nature Parks with comparing the Korean Recreational Forests. They were studied because both were not only founded for nature protection, but also for recreational use. The recreational offerings of German Nature Parks and Korean Recreational Forests found to reflect the expectations of their recreation users. Therefore the recreational uses of both countries will be recognized throughout this study. To review recreational offerings, services and infrastructure, a complete search of all German Nature Parks and Korean Recreational Forests was conducted. In summary, there were very good and varied activities that posed few demands on German Nature Parks. Some broad and very good offerings could be identified in the form of environmental education programs as well as many different kinds of services and infrastructure. Korean Recreational Forests were characterized by passive activities having few environmental education programs with only simple tour themes. The reason for this condition was that there were fewer holiday periods in Korea than in Germany and the conurbation life style in Korea, due to geological conditions, has led to less experience with nature.

  • The study intends to examine the effects of the fishing license system on fisheries resources in order to reduce the adverse effects of recreational fishing, such as fishery resource reduction and environmental pollution. In doing so, the research question of the study is to determine what factors influence anglers' willingness to support fishing licenses. Based on the extended theory of planned behavior, we further included explanatory variables such as recreation specialization and motivations besides anglers' attitudes, norms and self-efficacy towards the environment and proposed six research hypotheses. The data were collected through on-site and online surveys in Gwangju and Cheonnam province and a total of 337 effective questionnaires were collected for data analysis. Three different binary logit models were employed with the dependent variable of anglers'willingness to support fishing licenses to assess the effects of explanatory variables. Study results show that social norms, the level of recreation specialization, motivation factors related to environmental experiences positively affected anglers'willingness to support fishing licenses. However, anglers'consumptive orientation attitudes such as catching big fish, motivation factors related to activity general experience preferences and previous fishing experience had negative effects on the dependent variables. Study results indicate that public outreach and education programs are essential to successfully introduce the fishing license system. Managerial and policy-related implications are further discussed to make recreational fishing a more environment-friendly recreational activity. This study investigated the effects of diverse variables derived from anglers' social-psychological characteristics on their support for fishing licenses and suggest diverse policy-related and managerial implications.

  • This study aims to understand the ways in which experience programmes affect visitors' attitude at cultural heritage sites. Through a literature review, this study constructed measurement scales that specifically measure experience at the cultural heritage sites. Afterwards, this study measured visitors' experience, satisfaction, and attitude at cultural heritage sites. This study found that visitors experience fun, authenticity, leaning, and a sense of escaping/togetherness through the experience programmes. Second, authenticity, fun and learning influence their satisfaction in terms of their visit, whereas a sense of escaping/togetherness does not link to their satisfaction. Third, visitors' satisfaction is the key determinant in changing their attitude. Fun is the key determinant that directly influence visitors' attitude change, whereas authenticity is the key determinant that indirectly influence visitors' attitude change.
