Field emission-back light unit (FE-BLU) was fabricated using carbon nanotube (CNT) emitter. Local dimming and local brightening techniques were achieved, which results in very high contrast ratio. In addition, the motion blur phenomenon, one of the serious problems of liquid crystal display (LCD) with cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL)-BLU, was removed from LCD-TV by using FE-BLU.

Recent trends of low-temperature polycrystalline Si (LTPS) TFT technologies are presented. Characteristics of LTPS TFT processes are compared with those of a-Si TFT's. In order to compete with well-established a-Si TFT-LCD technology, LTPS process has to be as simple as possible. One of the most critical processes, recrystallization of a-Si thin films, could be the process for the differentiation of LTPS technology. Along with these technical reviews, a recent development of the 5.0-inch LTPS TFT-LCD is presented. In order to achieve high-performance display characteristics and save the power consumption, the transflective mode is adopted. The 5.0-inch display with 186 pixel-per-inch, high-resolution LCD was measured to be 10% for the reflectance and 70:1 for the contrast ratio. This display is designed for a high information content hand-held PC (HHPC) application.

The jellyfish Nemopilema nomurai was hydrolyzed with papain and a novel dipeptide purified via ultrafiltration, gel filtration chromatography with Sephadex LH-20, and reverse phase chromatography using $C_{18}$ and $C_{12}$ columns. The IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and MS spectrometer analyses showed that the dipeptide comprised tyrosine-isoleucine (Tyr-Ile). The $IC_{50}$ and $K_i$ values were $6.56{\pm}1.12$ and $3.10{\pm}0.28\;{\mu}M$, respectively, indicating competitive inhibition of angiotensin-I-converting enzyme (ACE). As a novel ACE-inhibitory active peptide, Tyr-Ile may have potential for use in antihypertensive therapy.

The aim of this study was to investigate the involvement of dopaminergic receptors (DR) in behavioral sensitization, as measured by locomotor activity, and the over-expression of cocaine- and amphetamine-regulated transcript (CART) peptides after repeated administration of cocaine in mice. Repeated administrations of cocaine induced behavioral sensitization and CART over-expression in mice. The levels of striatal CART mRNA were significantly increased on the $3^{rd}$ day. CART peptides were over-expressed on the $5^{th}$ day in the striata of behaviorally sensitized mice. A higher proportion of $CART^+$ cells in the cocaine-treated mice were present in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) shell than in the dorsolateral (DL) part of caudate putamen (CP). The concomitant administration of both $D_1R$ and $D_2R$ antagonists, SCH 23390 ($D_1R$ selective) and raclopride ($D_2R$ selective), blocked cocaine induced-behavioral sensitization, CART over-expression, and cyclic adenosine 5'-monophosphate (cAMP)/ protein kinase A (PKA)/phospho-cAMP response element-binding protein (pCREB) signal pathways. SCH 23390 more predominantly inhibited the locomotor activity, CART over-expression, pCREB and PKA activity than raclopride. Cocaine induced-behavioral sensitization was also attenuated in the both $D_1R$ and $D_2R$ knockout (KO) mice, respectively. CART over-expression and activated cAMP/PKA/pCREB signal pathways were inhibited in the $D_1R$-KO mice, but not in the $D_2R$-KO mice. It is suggested that behavioral sensitization, CART over-expression and activated cAMP/PKA/pCREB signal pathways induced by repeated administration of cocaine could be more predominantly mediated by $D_1R$.

Four genes (yqfR, yfmL, ydbR, deaD) were identified as putative DEAD-box RNA helicase genes in the genomic sequence of Bacillus subtilis by homology search. To understand the function of these genes, each of the genes was deleted and the constructed strains were tested for their growth charateristics at different temperatures. The growth rate of ydbR deletion mutant ($T_d$=53 min) was a little bit reduced at $37^{\circ}C$ as compared to that of wild type strain (CU1065). But the growth rate of other three (yqfR, yfmL, deaD) deletion mutants ($T_d$=30-40 min) is nearly equal to the growth rate of wild type ($T_d$=32 min). On the other hands, the growth rate of deletion mutants were reduced at $22^{\circ}C$ in order of yqfR ($T_d$=151 min), yfmL ($T_d$=214 min), ydbR ($T_d$=343 min), which showed cold-sensitive phenotype. The deletion mutant of deaD ($T_d$=109 min) grew equally as compared to the growth rate ($T_d$=102 min) of the wild type at $22^{\circ}C$ and did not show cold-sensitive growth. Double, triple and quadruple deletion mutants of these genes were constructed, and growth rate of these mutants were measured at various temperature conditions ($22^{\circ}C$, $37^{\circ}C$, $42^{\circ}C$) using LB broth. Multiple deletion mutations showed more severe cold-sensitive growth than single deletion mutations, and double deletion of ydbR and yfmL ($T_d$=984 min) showed most cold-sensitive growth than any other double mutants. Such a cold-sensitive growth of these mutations is quite similar to the result of csdA or srmB deletion in E. coli and suggested that physiological role of ydbR and yfmL is related with ribosome assembly.

오늘날 급속한 컴퓨팅 환경의 변화에 따라 방송, 통신, 기계 등 디지털 컨버전스 패러다임으로 데스크탑 컴퓨터에 제한적이던 정보 서비스가 언제, 어느곳에서든 가능한 유비쿼터스 시대가 도래하고 있다. 가정에서도 또한, 유비쿼터스 홈 환경이 조성 되면서 댁내 보안, 건강 모니터링 및 진료, 오락, 교육, 전자상거래 등 다양한 서비스가 이루어질 것이다. 이러한 환경에 적절한 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 안전하고 체계적인 관리 및 보호가 필요할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 유비쿼터스 환경에서의 멀티미디어서비스를 사용자의 상황인지 정보를 통해 지능화된 미디어 서비스 및 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 체계적이고 안전한 관리 및 보호를 위한 시스템을 제안한다.

The defects making partial discharge(PD) in a C-GIS(Cubicle Insulated Switchgear) initiate acoustic wave which can be detected using acoustic emission sensor placed outside or inside the C-GIS enclosure. In this paper, partial discharge property for 2 locations for AE sensor and 3 locations for defects in C-GIS are presented and PD waveforms were analyzed by PRPDA(Partial Resolved Partial Discharge Analysis). As a result, using post amplifier having gain of 10,000 and band pass filter having $20kHz{\sim}300kHz$, resolution of waveforms AE sensor signal by detected was good. Noise level was about 80 mV.

전력계통을 감시, 보호하기 위해서 해당 도메인에 맞게 전력감시 시스템을 운용한다. 전기품질을 위해서 전기품질감시 시스템을, 전력설비의 노후 정도, 교체기간을 감시하기 위해서 전력설비진단 시스템을 각각 운용한다. 최근 전력 IT 기술의 발달과 전력감시 시스템의 효율적 관리가 필요하게 되면서 국내외 선진사들은 전력시스템의 통합 솔루션을 소개, 개발하고 있는 추세이다. 본 논문에서는 전력감시 시스템들을 총합한 전력감시진단종합 시스템을 개 발하였고 이를 소개하고자 한다.

A tournament is an orientation of a complete graph, and in general a multipartite or c-partite tournament is an orientation of a complete c-partite graph. In a recent article, the authors proved that a regular c-partite tournament with $r{\geq}2$ vertices in each partite set contains a cycle with exactly r-1 vertices from each partite set, with exception of the case that c=4 and r=2. Here we will examine the existence of cycles with r-2 vertices from each partite set in regular multipartite tournaments where the r-2 vertices are chosen arbitrarily. Let D be a regular c-partite tournament and let $X{\subseteq}V(D)$ be an arbitrary set with exactly 2 vertices of each partite set. For all $c{\geq}4$ we will determine the minimal value g(c) such that D-X is Hamiltonian for every regular multipartite tournament with $r{\geq}g(c)$.
