A Total Life Cycle Process for Post Catch up R&D Methodology (탈추격형 연구방법으로서 R&D 전주기 프로세스)

  • 본고에서는 탈추격형 연구방법을 정립하는 데 중요한 요소가 되는 R&D 전주기 프로세서를 제안하였다. 이를 위해 연구방법의 개념 정립에 필요한 R&D 관련 기본 개념들과 과거 추격형 R&D의 연구방법론으로 활용되었던 시스템 개발 프로세스를 소개하였다. 향후 새롭게 정립되어야 할 탈추격형 R&D의 개념을 정의하고 그 특성으로써 기술의 아이디어 생성부터 시장에서 활용되는 기술 수명 전주기에 걸쳐 프로세스 활동을 정립하였다. 또한 연구개발 기획 시부터 산업화에 이르는 R&D 전주기 프로세스에서 강점과 약점을 비교하여 탈추격형 R&D에서 특히 보강되어야 할 주요 활동과 프로세스를 구성하는 각 단계에서의 수행해야 할 주요 활동을 제시하였다. 이를 통하여 탈추격형 R&D를 실행하기 위한 연구방법으로써 적용할 수 있는 연구방법론의 기반을 마련하였다.

The Inhibitory Effect of New Hydroxamic Acid Derivatives on Melanogenesis

  • The aim of present study was to examine the inhibitory effects of hydroxamic acid derivatives on the melanogenesis. We found that hydroxamic acid moiety was important for anti-melanogenic activity. Compounds 1a and 1b strongly inhibited melanin synthesis via deactivation of tyrosinase. Hydroxamic acid has metal ion chelating ability which is similar to that kojic acid, however, anti-tyrosinase mechanism of compounds 1a and 1b was different from that of kojic acid. They showed noncompetitive inhibition kinetics

  • A 2.2" QVGA($320{\times}240$) 262,114 color AMOLED module has been developed using digital driving methodology. In this paper, we discuss the development of diver IC which is applied to Digital AMOLED module. Technologies for low cost IC structure and image quality enhancement are presented.

  • This study develops reeducation programs to satisfy needs conducted by the analyses of potential customers and present R&D education programs. The results of this study were derived using the data collected from 200 R&D researchers and control managers occupied in research centers. By analyses of the survey, results showed that the professional R&D reeducation institution and specialized education programs according to career and position were needed. To bring solution of the researcher's reeducation, the establishment of R&D Supreme Academy is essential for effective human resource development and management in R&D.

  • R&D association is a very important institution to promote inter-firm technological cooperation, In Korea, they have begun to be established in 1982, and at now 56 R&D associations are working. The purpose of this study is In analyze the problems of the R&D associations, and to suggest a new direction of their future development Their problems were analyzed from the perspective of cooperative R&D mechanisms, especially with a new concept of R&D community : search community, planning community, community of research itself. This study emphases the importance of the R&D association's role as a planning community, and the institutional linkage between R&D association and National R&D program through the introduction of design-in planning system.

  • The final objective of this study is to establish the research and development (R&D) encouragement strategy in construction area. For this, this study deals with the survey of current status of Korean construction industry. The result of this study is as follow; First, it is necessary for strengthen the R&D infrastructure to establish R&D cooperation system between industry, university, government and public institute. Second, private sector's should do its role as one of the four performing sectors in R&D network, not just assisting role. We will apply the result for establshing the national strategy as basic data.

한국의 연구개발투자와 경제성장간의 관계분석

  • This paper aims to analyse the relationship between R&D investment and economic growth in Korea. The analysis result shows 38 percent of average economic growth rate(7.1%) of Korea between 1976 and 1998 was achieved by the growth of Total Factor Productivity (TFP), and the R&D investment during the period contributed in achieving the economic growth rate by as much as 9.86 percent. In the process of the estimate, the rate of return of the R&D investment from both government and private was calculated as 47 percent. The relationship between private R&D investment, government R&D investment and the GDP was also investigated, and it was estimated that the private sector invested 2.0 percent of the GDP in R&D during the period, and was found that 1 won of government R&D investment induced 0.202 won of private sector's R&D investment. However, the time-lag effect, which is naturally believed to exist between the R&D investment and the economic growth, could not be analysed in a mathematical form, because of the lack of the data to establish this relationship. However, this paper believe that the time-lag effect in this relationship was included implicitly by using the data of 23 years.

  • This article aims at revealing the dynamic relationships between the energy R&D investment and economic growth in Korea. To achieve this goal, we reviewed the effects of energy R&D investments and tried to make the holistic interconnections for describing the feedback loops between energy R&D and economic system. Energy R&D investments develop the renewable energy, energy efficiency and $CO_2$ emission reductions technologies for accomplishing the national strategic targets. The rapid obsolescence of technologies makes the inefficiency and negative effects in governmental energy R&D investments.

  • Korea's national R&D projects are increasing year by year. However, it is necessary to improve the quality of R&D result. In this paper, we introduce the developing and adjusting the R&D standard process based on process approach in ETRI. It is expected that the definition of R&D standard process will contribute to improve customer satisfaction and quality of R&D result through standardization and continuous improvement activities.

  • This study aims to investigate the compatibility between 'quality' and 'R&D' and to ascertain what methodology can be applied. To consider the compatibility, this study discussed whether quality management can expand into R&D area in future and whether the quality management principles in ISO9000 can work well in R&D environment. Our conclusion is that the application of the quality management in R&D is valid and can serve as a new paradigm for improving R&D performance. In addition, this study divided the quality concept in R&D into several types from the viewpoints of quality definition and suggested quality methodologies for each type.
