  • Purpose - This study investigates the key features of Quick Response as the fundamental form of supply chain collaboration by reviewing the selected past studies. Based on the findings from the literature review, this study provides the guideline for future researchers and business practitioners who search for more advanced collaboration programs. Research design, data, and methodology - This study conducts the literature review on the past studies that had researched Quick Response. The selected studies are analyzed in terms of how to represent Quick Response in the models and which issue to address. Results - This study finds that the past studies lack a unified concept of Quick Response, and they fail to provide the consistent guideline on how to run this program in practices. The literature review also shows that only a small number of research issues has been addressed by most researchers. Conclusions - On the purpose of figuring out the real value of Quick Response, this study suggests that future studies apply its extensive application to the entire supply chain system. This study also shed light on the potential of Quick Response to be a more advanced supply chain collaboration program with additional collaborative functions other than information sharing.

  • This study is to evaluate an application of technology to the soft ground stability using quick lime pile in the field. We investigated properties of Korean quick lime by conducting loading test and theoretical consideration about a principle and property of soft ground improvement by quicklime. According to the test results, it was estimated that quick lime pile method has dehydration effect by absorption of quick lime, consolidation effect by swelling of pile, increasing bearing by strength of pile itself and decreasing sinking effect, etc. A material property of quick lime is favorable for construction and considerable strength. In the case of higher strength is required, using cement as additive would increase material strength.

  • Most land development projects and large scale civil works require a great amount of sand. And sand is also the most favorable material for soft ground improvement. The demand for sand is soaring rapidly due to increased number of projects regardless of its limited supply. Therefore, it is not difficult to predict that sand may become depleted and no longer be available as ground improvement material in the near future. Against this backdrop, developing an inexpensive sand-substitution material with an efficient accessibility will be necessary and urgently called for. So quick lime could be recommended as the substitutional material for sand. Quick lime is now preferred by forward developed nations. If Korea is able to take advantage of its abundant supply, economical efficiency could be achieved through massive production as well as being able to take advantage of utilization of natural resources. In this respect the purpose of this paper was to estimate improvement effect of soft ground though in-situ construction of quick lime pile. In-situ construction was peformed in road construction site of soft clay and in this study quick lime from Dan-yang that was estimated prominently in aspect of engineering characteristics was used. Quick lime piles were installed by 1.5m, 2.0m, 3.0m spacing to confirm improvement effect according to spacing and installed piles are 0.4m in diameter, up to 5m in length and the density of quick piles installed is 1.4 t/㎥. Vibrating wire pore water pressure cell was installed to confirm consolidation characteristics in surrounding of quick lime piles and both laboratory test and field test were carried out to confirm strength increase. In conclusion, soft ground improvement by quick lime piles was confirmed.

  • The ionospheric delay is currently one of the most significant error sources in precise GNSS surveys. The users of single-frequency receivers should apply some kind of ionospheric correction algorithms to remove or model the ionospheric delay. For real-time correction of the ionospheric delay, one can use Klobuchar or NeQuick model provided by navigation messages of GPS and Galileo, respectively. We evaluated the performance of those models by comparing their effectiveness at different seasons and latitudes. For the first test, we computed the vertical total electron content (VTEC) at the permanent GPS site SUWN for four different seasons. As the second test, we picked three sites in Korea (CHLW, SUWN, JEJU) with high, medium, and low latitudes and evaluated the dependency of VTEC on the site latitude. Computed VTEC values were compared with those from the IRI model and Global Ionosphere Maps (GIM). The root-mean-square (RMS) differences of Klobuchar and NeQuick with respect to IRI and GIM were analyzed. As a result, without regard to season and latitude, the RMS differences of NeQuick models were smaller than that of Klobuchar by about 0.01~3.50 TECU.

  • In order to have compressive strength tests and frost heaving tests, two sorts of soil samples at Chonbuk-Do area were used. According to this research, the compressive strength of soil which was mixed by quick lime, was largely increased until 28 days but after 28 days, the increment of strength was seldom found and its maximum compressive strength increasing rate for content of quick lime was $10{\sim}15%$ scope. In the mixed rates of quick lime and briquette ash, the compressive strength of soil which was mixed by quick lime and briquette ash, was increased by increasing mixed rates of quick lime and its compressive strength was increased by additional quantity. The compressive strength of mixed soil within freezing-thawing 1 cycle was diminished around 30% compared to non-freezing soil's 28 days compressive strength but there were no movements after 2 cycle.

  • This study is a numerical analysis of the flow characteristic of a quick coupler. The quick coupler is a popular coupling tool for pipelines in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. In this study, the flow characteristic of a quick coupler outlet is conducted about the flow coefficient. The quick coupler is analyzed for improving flow and confirmed with the study results. The velocities with pressure distribution according to inlet and outlet pressure drop of the coupler are also compared. The flow coefficient is analyzed according to the flow analysis result for each pressure drop. When the pressure drop is 1 psi, the flow coefficient (Cv) matched about 98% of the value provided by the actual product.

  • The notion "block rotation" denotes the operation of exchanging two consecutive sequences of elements uv to vu. There are three already well-known block rotation algorithms called BlockRotation, Juggling and Reversal algorithm. Recently we presented a novel block rotation algorithm called QuickRotation. In this paper we compare QuickRotation to these three known block rotation algorithms. This comparison covers a complexity analysis as well as benchmarking and shows that a switch to QuickRotation is almost always advantageous.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of OraQuick tests in previously reported articles. Methods: The literature was searched using Pubmed Medline with keywords, such as "OraQuick" or "rapid HIV test". Articles that included the specificity and sensitivity of this device were reviewed. Results: A total of 11 journal articles including 3 domestic articles were reviewed. The sensitivity of the OraQuick Test was reported to be 97.8 to 100% and its specificity was 98.8 to 100%. Conclusion: The results indicated that the simple OraQuick assay has proven to be accurate and it can be used to detect patients with HIV and to prevent the spread of HIV on test screens.

  • The formulation for hybrid-QUICK scheme of convective transport terms in finite-volume calculation procedure is presented. Source terms are modified to apply the hybrid-QUICK scheme. Test calculations are performed for wall-driven cavity flow at Re=$10_2$, $10_3$, and $10_4$. These include the evaluation of boundary conditions approximated by third-order finite difference scheme. The stable and converged solutions are obtained without unsteady terms in the momentum equations. The results using hybrid-QUICK scheme show no difference with those using hybrid scheme at low Re ($=10_2$) and are better at higher Re ($10_3$, and $10_4$).

  • This study was performed to assess the accuracy of computer-based treatment prediction for soft tissue profile using Quick Ceph Image $Pro^{TM}\;&\;Quick\;Ceph\;2000^{TM}$ in bimaxillary protrusion cases. The Ore- and post-treatment lateral cephalograms of 21 female adults treated by low first premolar extraction were imaged and 9 landmarks and 27 specific soft tissue mesurements were digitized for comparing actual treatment results with computer simulations. The results of this study showed that Quick Ceph Image $Pro^{TM}\;&\;Quick\;Ceph\;2000^{TM}$ tends to overestimeate horizontal changes and underestimate vertical changes. In the computer simulation, upper lip showed rolling tendency. The upper lip measurements were disposed to be regular direction hut lower lip measurements were varied case by case even if it was statistically insignificant.
