A Scale for Measuring Standardization of Service Encounter Process (서비스접점 프로세스의 표준화 평가지표 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study describes the creation of a scale to measure standardization for service encounter process. Measuring standardization of service encounter process is devided into manual level and action level. We investigate the relative impact of process standardization about service quality, job satisfaction and labor productivity. Our findings indicate that action level of service encounter process standardization is more important than manual level, and its process standardization positively affects service quality, job satisfaction and labor productivity positively.

Restoration and Landscape Ecological Design to Restore Mt. Nam in Seoul, Korea as an Ecological Park (복원 및 경관생태학적 원리에 근거한 남산의 생태공원화 계획)

  • Restoration to improve the ecological quality of Mt. Nam was explored in a viewpoint of restoration in both landscape and ecosystem levels. A restoration plan in landscape level was based on the result on the land-use pattern in Mt. Nam including its surrounding area and that in ecosystem level on the ecological quality of each landscape element. A plant to construct the green network, which extending from Mt. Nam to the Han river through the Yongsan family park and through the Eungbong urban park was prepared as a restoration project in landscape level to improve the ecological quality of Mt. Nam as an ecological park. On the other hand, a plan for restoration and creation of biotop as a restoration project in ecosystem level was also prepared to improve the ecological quality of each green area consisting green network. Green areas composing green network include keystone green area (Mt. Nam), green stations (Yongsan family park, Eungbong urban park, and the han river citizen's park), and green pathway (or ecological corridor) connecting those green areas.

A Study on Self-Esteem, Health Promoting Behavior and the Quality of Life of the patients undergoing Hemodialysis (혈액투석환자의 자아존중감, 건강증진행위와 삶의 질과의 관계연구)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between self-esteem, health promoting behavior and the quality of life of the patients undergoing hemodialysis. The subjects were 86 patients undergoing hemodialysis in H hospital. The data were collected using a questionnaire. Data collection was done from January 11th to June 16th, 1999. The analysis of data was done by use of descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Multiple regression using the SPSS/PC+ program. The results are as follows: 1. The mean of the level of self-esteem was 25.02, the level of health promoting behavior, 120.04 and the level of QOL, 128.09. 2. Test for hypothesis: Hypothesis 1. "The higher the level of self-esteem of the patients undergoing hemodialysis, the higher the level of quality of life will be." was supported(r=.296, p<.01). Hypothesis 2. "The higher the level of health promoting behavior, the higher the level of quality of life will be." was supported (r=.628, p<.001). 3. Health promoting behavior explained 39.5percent of QOL($R^2$=.395, F=27.040, p<.001). 4. Monthly income(F=3.85, p<.01) and marital status(F=4.64, p<.05) were significantly related to the quality of life In conclusion, this study showed that self-esteem and health promoting behavior may be important factors that can improve the quality of life of the patients undergoing hemodiaysis. This study identified that nursing plans should include these factors to help physical, psychological and social adaptation of the patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Satisfaction and quality recognition of face-to-face and non-face-to-face lectures among students in the departments of dental technology and dental hygiene (치기공과 및 치위생과 학생의 대면/비대면 강의 품질 인식 수준과 만족도)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to explore methods to improve the quality recognition and satisfaction level of non-face-to-face lectures among students in the departments of dental technology and dental hygiene. Methods: This survey was conducted to assess the status and preference of non-face-to-face lectures and the level of awareness and satisfaction regarding the quality of these lectures among 179 students of dental technology and 295 students of dental hygiene. Statistical analyses were performed using frequency analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA (post-hoc Duncan), Welch analysis (post-hoc Games-Howell), and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Results: Factors that affected the ability to assess the quality of non-face-to-face lectures were the department, the method of non-face-to-face lectures, the most preferred method for conducting lectures, the level of awareness regarding the quality of face-to-face lecture, and satisfaction level. It has 71.5% explanatory power. Moreover, factors that influenced the satisfaction level of non-face-to-face lectures included the department, grade, the highest satisfied non-face-to-face teaching method, the most effective theoretical non-face-to-face teaching method, the most preferred teaching methods, and the ability to assess quality of face-to-face lectures. It has 46.8% explanatory power. Conclusion: Non-face-to-face classes should be designed and developed for web-based programs to improve the motivation and achievement level of the students and encourage interaction between the professors and students. Our findings suggest that educators should strive to achieve optimal educational effects by efficiently combining face-to-face and non-face-to-face lectures.

Measuring Level of Difficulty of Fingerprint Database based on Sample Quality (영상 품질 기반의 지문 데이터베이스의 난이도 정량화)

  • The purpose of this paper is to measure the level of difficulty of fingerprint database based on sample quality. This paper proposes distribution of a sample quality analyzer and a difference of sample quality analyzer to measure the level of difficulty. Experimental results demonstrate that there are stronger correlation between matching performance and level of difficulty based on difference of sample quality than other measure. Especially, level of difficulty based on OQ Block of MPQ co-occurrence matrix shows highest correlation with matching performance, and moreover it can predict the matching performance of unknown databases.

  • The Korean government developed an organizational maturity model for public data quality management based on international standards to evaluate the data quality management level of public organizations, However, as the model has too many indicators to apply on the site, a new model with reduced number of indicators is proposed in this paper. First, the number of processes is reduced by integrating and modifying the processes of the previous model. Second, a new maturity evaluation method is proposed based on capability levels focused on the activity, not on the process. Third, the maturity level of public data quality management is represented by five discrete levels or real values of 1 through 5. Finally, characteristics of the proposed model are compared with those of the previous model.

  • This paper studies the effect of information quality level and customer demand on performance measures in a supply chain. The information quality level compares 2 types, the information levels of a customer demand and a lead time. The customer demand process follows a general auto-correlated AR(1) process without seasonality. In the AR(1) process, ${\sigma}$ indicates the degree of demand fluctuation and ${\rho}$ means the trend of customer demand. ANOVA tests using a 5% significance level are performed in SPSS to examine significant performance changes among various cases.

A Study on the Quality of Life of Hair Designer (미용사의 삶의 질에 관한 연구)

  • This study was carried out to examine the level and relevant factors of influencing quality of lift of Hair Designer and to provide basic data to prepare intervention program for them. The data were collected from 733 Hair Designer who worked in beauty shops located in big and small cities including Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Daejon, Gwangju, Gyeongju, Changwon, Andong, using self-administered questionnaire for four months from February to June 2005. The results of this study show that the level of quality of life of Hair Designer are lower than one of workers in other jobs. Particularly, there is a close relationship quality of life, and that the lower the income and the shorter working hours, the lower the level of quality of life. Thus, the health promotion and education program to improve the quality of life of Hair Designer should be developed considering working conditions.

  • The literature reveals that service quality is critical determinants affecting customer satisfaction in the retail industry. Recent online B2C studies also show that service quality significantly influences online customer satisfaction. However, research on analyzing antecedents to determine the service quality level of online shopping has not been sufficiently reported. Moreover, the offline synergy effect on the Internet shopping mall has been presented mostly at a conceptual level. The purpose of this study is to investigate key managerial variables exploiting offline synergy, including pure online attributes, that impact on service quality of the click and mortar Internet shopping mall. A survey was conducted for empirical validation of the hypotheses. The results indicate that core offline synergy factors significantly enhance the perceived service quality level of the Internet shopping mall. Implications, limitations, and future research directions are also discussed.

Correlational Study on Management of Menopause, Marital Satisfaction, and Quality of Life in Middle-aged Women (중년여성의 폐경관리와 결혼만족도, 삶의 질과의 관계 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was to exam me the correlations among management of menopause, marital satisfaction, and quality of life in middle-aged women. Method: The sample was 158 middle-aged women who were 40-64 years. Data were collected from June 14 to July 10, 2003 using questionnaires and were analyzed by using the SPSS 10.0 PC+ program. Result: The level of marital satisfaction was related positively to the level of quality of life(r=.504, p<.01) and management of menopause(r=.3l5, p<.0l). In addition, there were significant correlations between the level of quality of life and management of menopause(r=.251, p<.01). In stepwise multiple regression analysis, 25.9% of the variance in quality of life was explained by marital satisfaction. Conclusion: Marital satisfaction and management of menopause serve to improve the quality of life of middle-aged women. It is necessary to develop an effective intervention program to improve marital satisfaction and management of menopause.
