  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose useful suggestions by analyzing difference of financial performance between "Excellent Quality Competitiveness Enterprise(EQCE)" awarding companies and all the manufacturing companies during the period 2003-2014 and by testing the moderating effects of performance year. Methods: This paper perform the longitudinal study during the period 2003-2014. The collected data through list of National Quality Award and financial report of CRETOP were analyzed using independent-sample t-test, paired-sample t-test, one way ANOVA and empirical analysis. Results: The results of this study are as follows; EQCE showed higher growth rate than all the companies until 2008, but profitability, stability, and activity are not significantly different between the both. Therefore EQCE have partial influences on growth rate among several financial performance measures until 2008. Since 2009 there are no differences. The effects of EQCE on financial performance are different by the year. Conclusion: EQCE award system was a meaningful promotion method to enhance good financial performance through encouraging quality management for the manufacturing companies until 2008, But since 2009 it is expected to lose its role as a promoting tool for quality management and performance excellence. Therefore new way of thinking for EQCE, as a national quality award system, is necessary; changing awarding system, award criteria, or etc.

  • In the current pavement construction practice, the state agencies traditionally determine the quality of the as-constructed pavement mix based on individual mixture material parameters (e.g., air voids, cement or asphalt content, aggregate gradation, etc.) and consider these parameters as key variables to influence payment schedule to the contractors and the present and future quality of the as-constructed mixture. A set of empirically pre-determined pay adjustment schedule for each parameter that was differently developed and being used by the individual agencies is then applied to a given project, in order to judge whether each parameter conforms to the designated specifications and consequently the contractor may either be rewarded or penalized in accordance with the payment schedule. With an improved quality assurance system, the Performance Related Specification, the individual parameters are not utilized as a direct judgment factor; rather, they become independent variables within a performance prediction function which is directly used to predict the performance. The quantified performance based on the prediction model is then applied to evaluate the pavement quality. This paper presents the brief history of the quality assurance in asphalt pavement construction including the Performance Related Specifications, statistical performance models in terms of fatigue and rutting distresses, as an example of the performance prediction models, and envisions the possibilities as to how this Performance Related Specification could be utilized in other infrastructures construction quality assurance.

The subjects of this study were students majoring in occupational therapy at C College situated in C region. For analysis, 103 copies of questionnaire were used. As study instruments, a structured questionnaire incorporating questions about general characteristics, and measurement scales for quality of life, quality of sleep, and occupational performance evaluation were applied. Subjective sleep quality and sleep latency of study participants had lower scores than other components. According to the analysis on different quality of sleep depending on general characteristics, women had more sleep disturbances as they didn't have any part-time job. In terms of the correlation between quality of sleep and quality of life, physical health and total score (quality of life) had correlations with daytime dysfunction. With regard to influential factors on quality of sleep, rest & sleep as a domain of occupational performance and work affected quality of sleep. Students' quality of sleep will be improved if they keep regular habits of living, have rest appropriately for alleviating their stress, and do their jobs with interest and successfully according to a procedure. Results: As a result of analyzing the influence relationship between key activity of SCQM on finance performance, it was identified that Management Infra(MI), Process Management(PM), Human Resource Management(HRM), Performance Sharing activity(PS) made significant effect on Financial Performance, and Human Resource Management(HRM) and Performance Sharing(PS) activity made effect on non-financial Performance. Conclusion: The four variables(MI, PM, HRM, PS) of Defense SCQM were significantly effecting Financial performance and two variables(HRM, PS) were significant effected non-Financial performance. We also proved the moderating effect of performance sharing.

  • Stakeholder management in construction projects is an important factor in project performance creation. The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of the recognition of the importance of the quality influence factors among the stakeholders of the construction project on the perceived quality and the project performance. The impact of the project management methodology on the project performance has been actively researched, but there is little research result on the project stakeholders. The projects to be researched are apartments and buildings that have been completed within the last five years of domestic large construction company. The method of survey is to measure the consensus of the importance of the quality influential factors among the three parties such as the ordering party, the design supervisor and the constructor, and confirm whether the agreement affects the quality of the actual project. Finally, the research model was verified by surveying the satisfaction of the client on the final product. The results are as follow. The degree of agreement on the importance of quality influential factors among stakeholders has a significant effect on perceived quality. In the relationship between perceived quality of influence factors, organizational (support) quality influenced technological quality and managerial quality, and technological quality and managerial quality also have significant influence on resource quality. The results of analysis showed that perceived quality of resources strongly influenced project performance. The remaining three experienced qualities also significantly affect project performance.
