  • This study was initiated to find a way to resolve electronic equipment as it could be affected by multiple environments. The effect of setting the exponential constant wave (iExp) in the telescopic cascade comparator to the SET (Single Event Transient) environment was tested. In this paper, the radio wave delay was measured at 0.46 ㎲ and the gain at 0.713 in the telescopic cascade comparator without setting the SET situation. FET T0 (M6) was measured to have a large spike at 11㎲ to 15㎲ in the telescopic cascade comparator entering the SET situation. FET T1 (M5) has shorted output signals from 10 ㎲ to 16 ㎲. FET T2 (M3) represented a shorted output signal, and FET T3 (M4) measured the output waveform in the form of a large spike waveform. The FET T4 (M1) and FET T5 (M2) are spiky signals. And at all FETs, the propagation delay was changed from 0.45㎲ to 0.54㎲. In summary, The FET element in the telescopic cascade comparator in SET situation was measured to be greatly affected.

  • Many studies have been conducted to reduce environmental pollution by ships and reduce fuel consumption. As part of this effort, research on power conversion systems through DC distribution systems that link renewable energy with conventional power grids has been pursued as well. The diode rectifiers currently used include many lower harmonics in the input current of the load and distort supply voltage to lower the power quality of the whole system. This distortion of voltage waveforms causes the malfunctions of generators, load devices and inverter pole switching elements, resulting in a large number of switching losses. In this paper, a controller is presented to improve DC output waveforms, the input Power Factor and the THD of an AFE type PWM rectifier used for PLL. DC output voltage waveforms have been improved, and the input Power Factor can now be matched to the unit power factor. In addition, the THD of the input power supply has been proven by simulation to comply with the requirements of IEEE Std514-2014.

  • Recently, there has been increasing demand for power quality in power supply devices. The IEC 61000-3-2 standard requires that the AC / DC power supply for lighting meet the specifications for the power factor (PF) and total waveform distortion (THD). In addition, advanced countries in Europe are regulating the ripple rate as 15 ~ 30% for the flicker phenomenon caused by the change in the amount of foot energy due to the change in current of the output terminal. Therefore, domestic standards and regulations are being updated. This study adopted the Flyback converter to satisfy the PFC standard, and has the circuit first and second insulation function. To reduce the low frequency ripple of the LED current, Flyback, Coupled Inductor, LC parallel resonance filter, LLC resonance filter, and Cuk were simulated by PSIM to mimic each LED driving circuit. A coupled LC resonant circuit with a coupled inductor on the primary side and LC resonance on the secondary side was also proposed for output side ripple reduction.

  • Purpose: To report the initial experience of patient-specific quality assurance (pQA) for the wobbling and line-scanning proton therapy at Samsung Medical Center. Materials and Methods: The pQA results of 89 wobbling treatments with 227 fields and 44 line-scanning treatments with 118 fields were analyzed from December 2015 to June 2016. For the wobbling method, proton range and spread-out Bragg peak (SOBP) width were verified. For the line-scanning method, output and two-dimensional dose distribution at multiple depths were verified by gamma analysis with 3%/3 mm criterion. Results: The average range difference was -0.44 mm with a standard deviation (SD) of 1.64 mm and 0.1 mm with an SD of 0.53 mm for the small and middle wobbling radii, respectively. For the line-scanning method, the output difference was within ${\pm}3%$. The gamma passing rates were over 95% with 3%/3 mm criterion for all depths. Conclusions: For the wobbling method, proton range and SOBP width were within the tolerance levels. For the line-scanning method, the output and two-dimensional dose distribution showed excellent agreement with the treatment plans.

  • The structure of universities needs to be adjusted and reformed to cope with the decrease in admission resources and the quality of education due to the low birth rate and aging population. Such a policy is receiving much attention. To analyze the relative efficiency of private universities in Korea from the perspective of resource and performance, this study evaluated the efficiency of private university operation by applying a DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) technique. The DEA measurements were compared with the diagnosis results of the department of education (Government) in 2018. The input and output variables used in the research analysis were utilized by the university's notification materials (public disclosure information). An analysis of the operational efficiency showed that 48% (12 universities) of the 25 DMUs (Decision Making Unit) were efficient for DEA-BCC models and that some of the capacity-building universities were operating efficiently. In addition, the DEA analysis found ways to improve inefficient groups through DEA-Additive results. This paper can be meaningful because it confirmed the relative efficiency of private universities and suggested improvement directions through the DEA method, which is characterized by the simultaneous consideration of various input and output factors. This will help apply the limited resources related to the input and output elements of each university.

  • Web spam has a significant influence on the ranking quality of web search results because it promotes unimportant web pages. Therefore, web search engines need to filter web spam. web spam filtering is a concept that identifies spam pages - web pages contributing to web spam. TrustRank, Anti-TrustRank, Spam Mass, and Link Farm Spam are well-known web spam filtering algorithms in the research literature. The output of these algorithms depends upon the input seed. Thus, refinement in the input seed may lead to improvement in the quality of web spam filtering. In this paper, we propose seed refinement techniques for the four well-known spam filtering algorithms. Then, we modify algorithms, which we call modified spam filtering algorithms, by applying these techniques to the original ones. In addition, we propose a strategy to achieve better quality for web spam filtering. In this strategy, we consider the possibility that the modified algorithms may support one another if placed in appropriate succession. In the experiments we show the effect of seed refinement. For this goal, we first show that our modified algorithms outperform the respective original algorithms in terms of the quality of web spam filtering. Then, we show that the best succession significantly outperforms the best known original and the best modified algorithms by up to 1.38 times within typical value ranges of parameters in terms of recall while preserving precision.

  • As one of the key IT applications, the project management information system (PMIS) has played a significant role in construction management processes. This is because PMIS is an information system that gathers, integrates, and disseminates the output of project management processes among project participants, and is used to support all aspects of a project, from initiation through closing. This paper aims to identify the CSFs(Critical Success Factor) of Project Management and quality associated with Project Management Information System (PMIS) in construction projects, to analyze the Effect of PMIS quality on Project Management Success. The CSFs of Project Management and the quality components for PMIS are identified through a review of the literature, and consolidated through interviews with professionals in the construction industry. A questionnaire instrument was sent out to experienced users (Construction Manager and Constructor), and 253 completed questionnaires were retrieved. To increase the applicability of the results, the respondents consisted of workers spread across various parts of the construction site. Using SPSS 12.0, the data was used to analyze the relationship between PMIS Quality and Project Management Success through multiple regression analysis. These findings help to clarify what the highly prioritized factors are, and could also be used as an assessment tool to evaluate the performance of PMIS and thus help to identify areas for improvement.

  • Politics and conflicts within organizations are natural phenomena found in any type of organization, affecting organizational outcomes and output variables. Nevertheless, there are not many previous studies on politics and conflict within nursing organizations. Therefore, in this study, we would like to analyze how the internal politics and conflicts, which have been excluded from the previous studies related to nursing organizations, affect the quality of communication between nurses. Data were collected from 310 nurses in an university hospital. Using SPSS21, the data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analyses. As results of the analyses, the organizational politics and relationship conflict have negative effect on the quality of vertical and horizontal communication, and task conflict has a positive effect on them. Organizational politics and relationship conflict have negative effects on quality of formal communication. Organizational politics and conflicts did not significantly affect the quality of informal communication. These results suggest that active, managerial efforts should be executed to overcome the negative effects of organizational politics and emotional conflicts among nurses. Furthermore, empirical research on organizational politics and conflicts within nurses organizations should be expanded.

  • Electron beam quality assurance (QA) should be done regularly for accurate radiation therapy. However, QA tools used in clinical practice are designed mainly for X-rays. So, a dosimeter for electron beam QA is required. Therefore, in this study, the electron beam detection performance was measured by using a thorium bromide material as an electron beam sensor. In addition, it was evaluated whether it could be applied with an electron beam QA dosimeter. Reproducibility, linearity, and dose rate dependence were evaluated at 6 MeV and 9 MeV energies. As a result of reproducibility, it showed a maximum output change of 0.92% at 6 MeV and 1.15% at 9 MeV. The linearity result evaluation and determination coefficient were presented as 0.9998. As a result of dose rate dependence evaluation, relative standard deviation 0.51% at 6 MeV and relative standard deviation 1.07% at 9 MeV were presented. The manufactured TlBr sensor shows the ability to detect radiation that meets the criteria for evaluation of reproducibility, linearity, and dose rate dependence. These results mean that the TlBr dosimeter is applicable as an electron beam QA dosimeter.
