  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore male nurses' experiences of gender discrimination at the workplace using qualitative research methods. Methods: Participants responded to a survey using an online link, and were asked to describe their overall experiences by responding to the question "Please freely describe your experiences of workplace gender discrimination". The qualitative data collected from 118 participants were analyzed using Krippendorff's technique. Data collection was caried out from June 11, 2019, to August 3, 2020. Results: Eleven themes and 24 subthemes were extracted from a total of 277 meaningful statements. Male nurses' experiences of workplace gender discrimination, reasons of gender discrimination, and improvement strategies were presented through the key themes. Conclusion: Male nurses experienced workplace gender discrimination from patients, colleagues, and institutions. Furthermore, strategies to improve gender stereotypes and to emphasize the strengths of male nurses are necessary in order to increase the number of male nurses in the female-dominant nursing field and to reduce job turnover. These strategies will help expand the social role of nurses as professionals and improve the work environment and benefits for all nurses.

  • In the present study, the improvement of absorption characteristics by installing insert devices, such as spring and wire screen, inside the vertical tube absorber were studied experimentally. Momentum, heat and mass transfer rate in the absolution process of smooth bare tube, smooth tube with spring-insert, and with wire screen-insert were compared and analysed in range of film Reynolds number of 40∼200. The improvement of heat transfer rate by spring-insert and screen-insert were remarkable especially in the low Reynolds number region. As the mesh number increased in screen-insert and as the pitch decreased in spring-insert, Nusselt and Sherwood number increased. Degradation of mass transfer by non-absorbable gas showed similar qualitative trends regardless of the insert type.

  • Buckwheat has gained scientists concern due to its nutritional and medicinal values in recent years, and many important bioactive compounds. The present study was performed to investigate the influence of the varietal performance and environmental conditions on the content of rutin and quercetin in Tartary buckwheat germplasm. A total of 44 foreign Tartary buckwheat germplasms were examined and compared their contents based on the collected countries, seed shape, and seed color. The highest number of germplasm (16) was found in ranged from 600 mg/100 g to 800 mg/100 g of rutin content. In case of quercetin content, the highest number of germplasm (19) was observed in ranged from 5 mg/100 g to 10 mg/100 g. However, the rutin content showed the highest value (1326.6 mg/100 g) from CBU408 and quercetin content showed the highest value (22.5 mg/100 g) from CBU456. The number of germplasm showed the highest value (23) in ranged from 3000 mg/100 g to 4000 mg/100 g of rutin content. The number of germplasm is the highest value (30) in ranged from 100 mg/100 g to 200 mg/100 g of quercetin content. When rutin and quercetin content in seed was compared according to collected countries, seed shape, and seed color respectively, no association was appeared with rutin and quercetin content. In sprout of whole Tartary buckwheat germplasm, mean of rutin content and quercetin content was 3362.9 mg/100 g and 14.2 mg/100 g respectively. In conclusion, the results observed from the present study suggest that highly rutin germplasm could be used more efficiently via breeding to develop a highly rutin content variety for using in sprout. No correlation was appeared in the case of quercetin. However, the quercetin content in sprout was 4~90 times more than seed. So, sprout could be used more efficiently than seed in the case of quercetin. Our results suggest that the varietal variation and qualitative characteristic differences of rutin and bioactive compounds may provide important nutrient sources and industrial application of Tartary buckwheat.

  • Qualitative elevation of products is very important Part. A business racking us brains to find for qualitative elevation of products. Recently, measurement accuracy of a non-contact 3D scanner has been rapidly improving. As a result, the number application cases of non-contact 3D scanners are increasing. A non-contact 3D scanner is capable of measuring a curved surface rapidly and has high resolution. It is more affordable and potable than the CMMs, It is therefore expected to be applied more frequently in more diverse industries. Automating the measuring process using a non-contact 3D scanner and developing a technology, which allows a user to measure easily, will eventually improve the quality of products. As their inspection and analysis processes improve.

  • To discuss the taxonomic dispositions of Korean Isopyroideae (Ranunculaceae) taxa, principal components analysis and cluster analysis were performed using quantitative and qualitative morphological characters. The principal components analysis revealed that the size and number of ovule, ovary width, ratio of style length/ovary length, filament length, sepal size, style length, leaf size, and ovary length are important characters to distinguish Korean Isopyroideae taxa. The cluster and principal components analyses based on both quantitative and quantitative characters demonstrate that lsopyrum mandshuricum is more closely related to Enemion raddeanum than to Semiaquilegia adoxoides. Even though Enemion s not separated from Isopyrum by uantitative characters, they are distinguished by qualitative characters, suggesting that our taxa, Enemion, Semiaquilegia, Isopyrum and Aquilegia, should be recognized in Korean Isopyroideae. In addition, cluster analyses suggest that S. adoxoides could be separated from Aquilegia buergeriana var, oxysepala.

  • The launch of a new business is crucial to the future growth and profitability of a company. A new business project typically requires a large amount of resources while it has a high possibility of failure. The evaluation of new business opportunities is therefore quite a critical decision-making to companies. This evaluation includes screening of a large number of criteria at a time which often makes desision-making very complicated. Management should evaluate the business alternatives in a sound and consistent manner that is hard to achieve because the new business evaluation is a typical semi/unstructured decision-making problem. The difficulty in such an evaluation will increase if it is required for management to consider both quantitative and qualitative criteria simultaneously. Under these circumstances, this study has proposed a decision-making framework that utilizes analytical hierarchy process(AHP). This study has identified a set of criteria essential to the new business evaluation and suggested a systematic framework for it. Both qualitative and quantitative evaluations are incorporated into the single framework in this study.

  • It is very difficult to maintain the performance of estimation models for the new breed of projects since the computing environment changes so rapidly in terms of programming languages, development tools, and methodologies. So, we propose to use the relevant cases for a neural network model, whose cost is the decreased number of cases. To balance the relevance and data availability, the qualitative input factors are used as criteria of data classification. With the data sets that have the same value for certain qualitative input factors, we can eliminate the factors from the model making reduced neural network models. So we need to seek the optimally reduced neural network model among them. To find the optimally case-selective neural network, we propose the search techniques and sensitivity analysis between data points and search space.

  • The objective of this study was to compare the wood anatomical characteristics of local tree species in Moluccas, Indonesia i.e., Moluccan ironwood (Intsia bijuga), linggua (Pterocarpus indicus), red meranti (Shorea parvifolia), and gofasa (Vitex cofassus). Qualitative evaluation was conducted by observing the anatomical structure in cross, radial, and tangential sections of each sample. For the quantitative evaluation, the dimensions of vessels, rays, and fibers were measured. Qualitative evaluation showed that crystals were observed in Moluccan ironwood, linggua, and gofasa, while resin canals were only observed in red meranti. Tyloses were frequently observed in gofasa but infrequently observed in linggua and red meranti. Quantitative evaluation showed that Moluccan ironwood with the higher density had thicker fiber wall, higher quantity of ray number, and wider rays than the other species. Red meranti had higher values of ray height and fiber length than the other three species. The results also revealed that linggua showed the highest values of relative crystallinity and crystallite width. Red meranti and gofasa showed similar values of relative crystallinity and crystallite width, while Moluccan ironwood showed the lowest values. The basic qualitative and quantitative anatomical characteristics discussed could provide useful information for further utilizations of such wood species.
