DQM을 이용한 아치의 좌굴해석 (Buckling Analysis of Arches Using DQM)

  • 곡선보(curved beam)의 등분포 하중하에서 평면내(in-plane)와 평면의(out-of-plane)의 좌굴(buckling)을 해석하는데 differential quadrature method (DQM)을 이용하여 다양한 경계조건(boundary conditions)과 굽힘각(opening angles)에 따른 입계하중(critical loads)을 계산하였다. DQM의 해석결과는 해석적 해답(exact solution) 또는 다른 수지해석 결과와 비교하였으며, DQM은 적은 요소(grid points)를 사용하여 정확한 해석결과를 보여주었다. 두 경계조건(고정-고정, 고정-단순지지)하에서 새로운 결과를 또한 제시하였다.

  • The differential quadrature method (DQM) is a numerical technique of rather recent origin, which by its continually increasing applications in different problems of engineering, is a competing alternative to the conventional numerical techniques for the solution of initial and boundary value problems. The work of this paper concerns the application of the DQM in the area of the buckling of multi layered orthotropic composite plates with various boundary conditions the buckling of multi layered composite plates with constant and variable thickness under axial compressive static loading is considered. The effects of fiber orientation and boundary conditions on static behavior of composite plates are presented. The comparison of results from the present method and those obtained from NISA II software shows the accuracy and reliability of this method.

Static analysis of monoclinic plates via a three-dimensional model using differential quadrature method

  • According to the properties of monoclinic materials, the normal and shear stresses are depending on both normal and shear strains. In the current investigation, the static analysis of monoclinic plates based on three dimensional elasticity theory is investigated. New governing equations and boundary conditions are derived for monoclinic plates and the Differential Quadrature Method (DQM) is used to solve the static problem. In our method of solution, no approximation is used and the DQM is adopted in all directions. By showing the differences between our results and the results for especially orthotropic plates, one can find that it is worth to investigate the monoclinic plates to have more accurate results.

  • We analyze the error in the $p$ version of the of the finite element method when the effect of the quadrature error is taken into account. We investigate source of quadrature error due to the presence of mapped elements. We present theoretical and computational examples regarding the sharpness of our results.

  • 아크축(arch axis)의 연장(extensibility) 및 회전관성(rotatory inertia)을 고려한 곡선보(curved beam)의 평면내(in-plane) 자유진동을 미분구적법(DQM)을 이용하여 다양한 경계조건(boundary conditions)과 굽힘각(opening angles)에 따른 진동수(frequencies)를 계산하였다. DQM의 결과를 다른 수치해석결과와 비교하였으며, DQM은 적은 요소(grid points)을 사용하여 정확한 해석결과를 보여주었다.

  • Three dimensional solutions for free vibrations analysis of functionally graded fiber reinforced cylindrical panel are presented, using differential quadrature method (DQM). The orthotropic panel is simply supported at the edges and is assumed to have an arbitrary variation of reinforcement volume fraction in the radial direction. Suitable displacement functions that identically satisfy the simply supported boundary condition are used to reduce the equilibrium equations to a set of coupled ordinary differential equations with variable coefficients, which can be solved by differential quadrature method to obtain natural frequencies. The main contribution of this work is presenting useful results for continuous grading of fiber reinforcement in the thickness direction of a cylindrical panel and comparison with similar discrete laminate composite ones. Results indicate that significant improvement is found in natural frequency of a functionally graded fiber reinforced composite panel due to the reduction in spatial mismatch of material properties.

Thermal buckling analysis of shear deformable laminated orthotropic plates by differential quadrature

  • In this paper, the thermal buckling analysis of rectangular composite laminated plates is investigated using the Differential Quadrature (DQ) method. The composite plate is subjected to a uniform temperature distribution and arbitrary boundary conditions. The analysis takes place in two stages. First, pre-buckling forces due to a temperature rise are determined by using a membrane solution. In the second stage, the critical temperature is predicted based on the first-order shear deformation theory. To verify the accuracy of the method, several case studies were used and the numerical results were compared with those of other published literatures. Moreover, the effects of several parameters such as aspect ratio, fiber orientation, modulus ratio, and various boundary conditions on the critical temperature were examined. The results confirm the efficiency and accuracy of the DQ method in dealing with this class of engineering problems.

  • We consider a 1-dimensional reaction diffusion equation with the following boundary conditions arising in a theory of the thermal explosion {-u"(t) = λf(u(t)), t ∈ (0, l), -u'(0) + C(0)u(0) = 0, u'(l) + C(l)u(l) = 0, where C : [0, ∞) → (0, ∞) is a continuous and nondecreasing function, λ > 0 is a parameter and f : [0, ∞) → (0, ∞) is a continuous function. We establish the extension of Quadrature method introduced in [8]. Using this extension, we provide numerical results for models with a typical function of f and C in a thermal explosion theory, which verify the existence, uniqueness and multiplicity results proved in [6].

  • A conservative scheme for solving scalar hyperbolic equations is presented using a quadrature rule and an ODE solver. This numerical scheme consists of an upwind part, plus a correction part which is derived by introducing a new variable for the given hyperbolic equation. Furthermore, the stability and accuracy of the derived algorithm is shown with numerous computations.

  • 신호의 $90^{\circ}$위상차 분배/합성이 가능한 Quadrature Hybrid는 Image Rejection Mixer등에 널리 쓰이고 있으며, 특히 VHF대 위성통신을 행할 경우에는 집중정수형으로 제작하는 것이 대단히 유리하다. 이 경우 자기결합을 갖게 되면 제작이 곤란하므로 자기결합을 갖지 않는 형식으로 광대역 특성을 갖는 소자를 설계하는 것은 대단히 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 자기결합을 갖지 않는 90Hybrid의 기본회로를 제안하고, 이 기본회로를 Phase Shifter를 이용하여 Cascade 로 연결하고 최적화함으로써 광대역화하는데 성공하였다. 여기서 설계한 Hybrid 는 약 54%의 대역폭을 가지며, Branch-Guide Type방향성 결합기에 비하여 훨씬 더 우수한 특성을 가짐을 입증하였다. 또한, 실험에 의하여 제안한 설계법의 타당성을 확인하였다.
