The handle of fabrics including tactility and sense of visuality are closely related to the factors governing the preferences of end-users. This study shows the change of mechanical properties, thermal properties and optical properties by comparing two fabrics which are woven with circular shaped filaments and with triangular ones. The fabric mechanical characteristics required for primary hand values were evaluated with the KES-FB system. The mechanical properties measured by KES-FB system shows that fabrics made of circular filaments are greater than those made of triangular ones. The thermal properties measured by KES-F7(Thermo Labo II) system shows that the values of the initial maximum value(qmax) and the thermal conductivity(λ) are higher in the fabric made of triangular shaped ones. When the light rays tall on a surface, the fabric made of triangular filaments shows more lustrous than circular ones.

Partial discharges(PD)in air insulated electric power apparatus often lead to deterioration of solid insulation by electron bombardments and electrochemical reaction. The PD caused to reduce the life time of power apparatus and to increase power losses. Thus understanding and classification of PD patterns in air are very important to discern sources of PD. In this paper, PD in air by using statistical methods was investigated. We classified air discharges, corona, surface discharges and cavity discharges by Kohonen network. For classification of PD patterns, we used statistical operators and parameters such as skewness$(S^+,\; S^-),\; kurtosis(K^+, K^-),\; mean phase(AP^+, AP^-)$, cross-correlation factor(CC) and asymmetry derived from the mean pulse-height phase distribution$(H_{avg}(\phi))$, the max pulse-height phase distribution $(H_{qmax}(\phi))$, the pulse count phase distribution $(H_n(\phi))$ and the pulse height vs. Repetition rate $(H_q(n))$.

Partial discharge(PD) test can be performed either when the rotating machine is not operating(off-line) or during normal machine operation(on-line). This paper presents an on-line and off-line PD test on a large hydro-generator and induction motor using the same PD acquisition system(PDAS) and ceramic coupler(CC) sensor. PD signal characteristics of CC sensor proved similar with that of epoxy mica coupler(EMC) sensor as a results of PD test for simulated defect winding and frequency response test. A comparison of on-line and off-line PD test for PD characteristic parameters-phase resolved PD(PRPD), maximum PD value(Qmax) and PD occurrence energy(POE)-indicated that on-line PD test could reliably and effectively diagnose insulation conditions which were verified by off-line PD test.
A kinetic study for anion exchange was performed for commercially available Cl- type anion exchange resin in use to remove nitrate in water. The obtained results from the batch reactor were applied to the Langmuir and Freundlich models. The constants for Lagmuir model were qmax =29.82 and b=0.202, and for Freundlich model were K=5.509 and n=1.772. Langmuir model showed betterfit than Frendlich model for the experimental results. Ion exchange reaction rate was also calculated and the the approximate first-order reaction, rate constant k1 was 0.16 L/mg.hr. Effective diffusion coefficient was obtained in the range from $9.67$\times$10^{-8} cm^2/sec$ for initial concentration change, and from $6.09$\times$10^{-7} to 3.98$\times$10^{-6} cm^2/sec$ for reaction temperature change. Activation energy during the diffusion was calculated as 26 kcal/mol.

Performances of Taekwondo fabrics were evaluated in respect of fiber component. yarn count, weave structure and wearing comfort. As a beginning step, we investigated the present situation of Taekwondo wears by questionnaire from pro and amateur Taekwondo players. Samples employed in this study were cotton/nylon blend fabric that was newly woven for this study as well as fabrics of current Taekwondo wears for sale in the market. Their fundamental properties measured were such as air permeability, water vapor transport. wickability, absorption rate, Qmax values, thermal conductivity, durability, hand value, and etc. In addition, subjective wearing sensations were evaluated using Taekwondo wears made of those fabrics. From the results of the objective measurement and the subjective wearing test, we estimated the total fitness of fabrics as a Taekwondo wear. From the questionnaire we could see that pro players and amateurs wanted highly absorbing, quick drying, and soft-tough and complained abrasive surfaces and static elasticity of current fabrics. In view of the results so far achieved, nylon blended fabrics newly woven in this study, showed better comfort-related properties from both of the objective and subjective tests. It was also represented that finer yams enhanced water absorption and touch, and fabrics with rough surface such as honeycomb weave was superior in wearing comfort as well as aesthetic appearance.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between lower urinary tract symptoms and urodynamic parameters to investigate the characteristics of mixed urinary incontinence (MUI) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods: The subjects were 318 women with MUI and 128 women with SUI. Data were collected retrospectively from electronic medical records including Bristol Female Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms-Scored Form (BFLUTS-SF), Incontinence Quality of Life Instrument (I-QOL), voiding diaries, and urodynamic parameters. Results: Compared with the SUI group, the MUI group was older and showed lower I-QOL and more severe urinary tract symptoms. The MUI group had more urinary frequency, more nocturia, and a higher urgency score than the SUI group. In the correlation analysis, the greatest difference between the two groups was that urgency was associated with Qmax, maximal cystometric capacity, and detrusor overactivity only in the MUI group (r = -.175, p= .004; r = -.281, p< .001; r= .232, p< .001, respectively). Conclusion: As a result of this study, we propose that a customized management program that emphasizes the control of urgency for the MUI group, and one that effectively strengthens the weak pelvic floor for the SUI group.
This study was conducted to Investigate the treatment of wastewater from acetaldehyde manufacturing plant by activated sludge process with Micrococcus roseus AW-6, Micrococcus roseus AW-22, Microbacterium lacticum AW-38 and Mlcrobacterium nae- vaniformans AW-41. The $COD_{Mn}$ and $BOD_5$ of the wastewater were 5, 260mg/L and 6, 452mg/L, respectively. pH was 1.85. The main organic component in the wastewater was acetic acrid which was contained 67, 600mg/L. Optimum dilution time for activated sludge process was shown 10 times. The specific substrate removal rate(BL) was 1.95day-1 and the nonbiodegradable matters(Sn) were 23.2mg/L. Saturation constant (Ks) and mainmum specific growth rate(qmax) were 1, 640mg/L and 2.33day-1, respectively. Sludge yield coefficient(Y) and endogenous respiration coefficient(kd) were 0.28mg MLVSS/mgCOD and 0.02day-1, respectively. $COD_{cr}$ removal efficiency was 91% for 1.95day of hydraulic retention time.

Partial discharge(PD) in air insulated electric power systems is responsible for considerable power lossesfrom high voltage transmission lines. PD in air often leads to deterioration of insulation by the combined action of the discharge ions bombarding the surface and the action of chemical compounds that are formed by the discharge and may give rise to interference in ommunication systems. PD can indicate incipient failure. Thus understanding and classification of PD in air is very important to discern source of PD. In this paper, we investigated PD in air by using statical method. We classified air discharge with corona, surface discharge and cavity discharge by source of discharge. we used the mean pulse-height phase distribution $H_{qmean}(\psi)$, the max pulse-height phase distribution $H_{qmax}(\psi)$ , the pulse count phase distribution $H_n(\psi)$ and the max pulse height vs. repetition rate $H_{q}(n)$ for analysis PD pattern. We used statistical operators, such as skewness(S+. S-1, kurtosis(K+, K-), mean phase(AP+. AP-), cross-correlation factor(CC) and asymmetry from the distribution.

In the previous paper, we already discussed about the factor effected upon the initial maximum value of heat flux ($q_{max}$). Thermal conductivity, thermal transmittance and surface air cavity of wool fabrics were examind and their correlation to the $q_{max}$ was also studied In this study, the other factor was examined which had on effect upon the qmaf of an objective measure of warm/cool feeling. It was studied that the qmax correlated to the surface sturucture parameters (compression, friction, smoothness, roughness, thickness and weight). It was concerned to the degree of warm/cool feeling when we touched hand on fabrics. We selected twenty sorts of pure wool woven fabrics for men's fall-winter cloth (all Wool). The conclusions are as follow; 1. There was a good correlation between the $q_{max}$ and the compression property. 2. The surface structure parameters, smoothness and roughness, made various effects on the $q_{max}$, when the samples touched on a thin copper plate. So, there was not a certain correla-tion to the $q_{max}$.
Radionuclides, particularly radioactive cesium (Cs), are a concern of human health in some nuclear power accidents. It could lead to a high level of intracellular accumulation due to its high radioactivity and long half-life. Therefore, it is imperative to develop a method to remove Cs from wastewater. Herein, we synthesized activated carbon fibers (ACFs) doped with Prussian blue (PB) via in situ methods. We classified samples by their preparation method as either physical (PB-ACF-A) or physicochemical (PB-ACF-B) syntheses for comparison. The PB-ACF-B sample showed a significant surface loss compared to PB-ACF-A but a better 133Cs adsorption capacity. All samples fit well to Langmuir isotherms and the values of qmax were directly correlated to the amount of PB on the surface of the ACFs. Adsorption characteristics were further confirmed by the calculated free energy, enthalpy, and entropy.
