In this paper, we find optimal policy for the (Q, r) inventory model under the lead time uncertainty. The (Q, r) inventory model is such that the fixed order quantity Q is placed whenever the level of on hand stock reaches the reorder point r. We first develop the single level inventory model as the basis for the analysis multi-level distribution systems. The functional problem is to determine when and how much to order in order to minimize the expected total cost per unit time, which includes the set up, inventory holding and inventory shortage cost. The model, then, is extended to the multi-level distribution system consisting of the factory, warehouses and retailers. In this case, we also find an optimal policy which minimizes the total cost of the contralized multi-level distribution system.

For a linear operator Q from $R^{d}\; into\; R^{d},\; {\alpha}\;>0\; and\ 0-semi-stability and the operater semi-stability of probability measures on $R^{d}$ are defined. Characterization of $(Q,b,{\alpha})$-semi-stable Gaussian distribution is obtained and the relationship between the class of $(Q,b,{\alpha})$-semi-stable non-Gaussian distributions and that of operator semistable distributions is discussed.

Cho and Kim [4] have introduced the concept of the competition index of a digraph. Similarly, the competition index of an $n{\times}n$ Boolean matrix A is the smallest positive integer q such that $A^{q+i}(A^T)^{q+i}=A^{q+r+i}(A^T)^{q+r+i}$ for some positive integer r and every nonnegative integer i, where $A^T$ denotes the transpose of A. In this paper, we study the upper bound of the competition index of a Boolean matrix. Using the concept of Boolean rank, we determine the upper bound of the competition index of a nearly reducible Boolean matrix.

Reports of constitutional ring chromosome 22, r(22) are rare. Individuals with r(22) present similar features as those with the 22q13 deletion syndrome. The instability in the ring chromosome contributes to the development of variable phenotypes. Central nervous system (CNS) atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumors (ATRTs) are rare, highly malignant tumors, primarily occurring in young children below 3 years of age. The majority of ATRT cases display genetic alterations of SMARCB1 (INI1/hSNF5 ), a tumor suppressor gene located on 22q11.2. The coexistence of a CNS ATRT in a child with a r(22) is rare. We present a case of a 4-month-old boy with 46,XY,r(22)(p13q13.3), generalized hypotonia and delayed development. High-resolution microarray analysis revealed a 3.5-Mb deletion at 22q13.31q13.33. At 11 months, the patient had an ATRT ($5.6cm{\times}5.0cm{\times}7.6cm$) in the cerebellar vermis, which was detected in the brain via magnetic resonance imaging.

In 1906, da Rios, a student of Leivi-Civita, wrote a master's thesis modeling the motion of a vortex in a viscous fluid by the motion of a curve propagating in $R^3$, in the direction of its binormal with a speed equal to its curvature. Much later, in 1971 Hasimoto showed the equivalence of this system with the non-linear Schr$\ddot{o}$dinger equation (NLS) $$q_t=i(q_{ss}+\frac{1}{2}{\mid}q{\mid}^2q$$. In this paper, we use the same idea as Terng used in her lecture notes but different technique to extend the above relation to the case of $R^3$, and obtained an analogous equation that $$q_t=i[q_{ss}+(\frac{1}{2}{\mid}q{\mid}^2+1)q]$$.

Let R be a commutative semiring with $1_R{\neq}0_R$. Characterization of subsemimodules, prime subsemimodules and primary subsemimodules which are subtractive extensions of Q-subsemimodules in R-semimodules are investigated.

Many studies require expression analysis of the same gene/promoter across a range of bacterial genera. However, there is currently a lack of availability of reporters based on the broad-host-range IncQ replicon, which is compatible with a popular improved IncP transfer system that is self-transfer defective. We report IncQ lacZ reporter plasmids with features including (1) compatibility with IncP, IncW, and pBHR/pBBR replicons, (2) a variety of antibiotic markers (Sp-r, Sm-r, Km-r, Cm-r), (3) convenient mobilization via a novel self-transfer-defective IncP conjugation system, and (4) GenBank DNA sequences. Utility is demonstrated using three different promoters in different Gram-negative genera.

The purposes of this study were to investigate vegetation structure and present management planning of mountain type green space using the green space changes during the 20 years, actual vegetation, and plant community structure in land area of Inchon, Korea. The actual vegetation area in survey sites was consisted of Quercus acutissima community, Robinia pseudoacacia forest, Pinus rigida forest, Q. mongolica-Pinus rigida community, P. rigida-Q. mongolica community, Q. monogolica community and so on. According to the classification by TWINSPAN, 61 survey plots were divided into 9 groups; Q. mongolica-Alnus japonica-R. pseudoacacia-P. densiflora, R. pseudoacacia-Styrax japonica, P. rigida-R. pseudoacacia-Q. mongolica, R. pseudoacacia-P. rigida-Q. mongolica-A. hirusta, Q. mongolica-P. thunbergii, and prunus sargentii-Zelkova serrata community. From this result, ecological succession trend of vegetation seems to be change from artificial result, ecological succession trend of vegetation seems to be change from artificial planting forest to native plant community which was dominated by Quercus spp.. This study area need to manage for the increase of biodiversity through the restoration of naturalness by ecological management of artificial planting forest and ecological planting of injured green space.

This paper deals with a (Q, r) spare-part inventory model with gamma leadtime. In the model, if the inventory level falls to a reorder point r, a replenishment order quantity Q is ordered. Assumming that the number of operating units is one and the lifetime of a unit follows an exponential distribution, we derive the expected cost rate and suggest a procedure to obtain the optimal pair of (Q, r) minimizing the cost rate. A numerical example is presented to explain the model.
