The general wavelet transform has profitable property in non-stationary signal analysis specially. The tunable Q-factor wavelet transform is a fully-discrete wavelet transform for which the Q-factor Q and the asymptotic redundancy r, of the transform are easily and independently specified. In particular, the specified parameters Q and r can be real-valued. Therefore, by tuning Q, the oscillatory behavior of the wavelet can be chosen to match the oscillatory behavior of the signal of interest, so as to enhance the sparsity of a sparse signal representation. The TQWT is well suited to fast algorithms for sparsity-based inverse problems because it is a Parseval frame, easily invertible, and can be efficiently implemented. The transform is based on a real valued scaling factor and is implemented using a perfect reconstruction over-sampled filter bank with real-valued sampling factors. The transform is parameterized by its Q-factor and its over-sampling rate, with modest over-sampling rates being sufficient for the analysis/synthesis functions to be well localized. This paper describes filter design of 2D discrete-time wavelet transform for which the Q-factor is easily specified. With the advantage of this transform, perfect reconstruction filter design and implementation for performance improvement are focused in this paper. Hence, the 2D transform can be tuned according to the oscillatory behavior of the image signal to which it is applied. Therefore, application for performance improvement in multimedia communication field was evaluated.

This paper describes a 2D discrete-time wavelet transform for which the Q-factor is easily specified. Hence, the transform can be tuned according to the oscillatory behavior of the image signal to which it is applied. The tunable Q-factor wavelet transform (TQWT) is a fully-discrete wavelet transform for which the Q-factor, Q, of the underlying wavelet and the asymptotic redundancy (over-sampling rate), r, of the transform are easily and independently specified. The TQWT can also be used as an easily-invertible discrete approximation of the continuous wavelet transform. The transform is based on a real valued scaling factor (dilation-factor) and is implemented using a perfect reconstruction over-sampled filter bank with real-valued sampling factors. The transform is parameterized by its Q-factor and its oversampling rate (redundancy), with modest oversampling rates (e. g. 3-4 times overcomplete) being sufficient for the analysis/synthesis functions to be well localized. Therefore, This method services good performance in image processing fields.

The grouting is one of the improved techniques which is aim to decrease the permeability and to strengthen the soft ground. But The grouting method has many problems about a suitability of grouting procedure and an effectiveness of grouting after grouting work because of a technical characteristic operated inside the soil. The grouting $p{\sim}q{\sim}t$ chart of a typical index about grouting rate and time alteration of grouting pressure is one method to estimate the suitability of grouting factor with monitoring during grouting procedure. This study is automatic grouting system (AGS) which can control the testing and grouting procedures. It can make the detailed $p{\sim}q{\sim}t$ chart and analyze the grouting characters of the ground by comparing the detailed pattern of $p{\sim}q{\sim}t$ chart with standard pattern. If using the $p{\sim}q{\sim}t$ chart derived from AGS in the grouting work, it is an objective standard estimating the suitability of grouting factor with grouting materials, grouting method, grouting rate and grouting pressure, as results it expects successfully to improve reliability of the grouting work.

A wireless power transfer system with a negative impedance converter(NIC) was designed and tested. The system was investigated to identify the effects of ferrites and conductors. To improve the power transfer efficiency(PTE), the Q-factor of the transmitter was enhanced by the negative resistance generated by the NIC. The NIC was composed of an Op-Amp and resistors. The negative resistance was obtained with respect to a resistor connected in a feedback loop. The dimension of the Tx coil was $250mm{\times}250mm{\times}0.8mm$. The impedance and Q-factor were $31+j1874{\Omega}$ and 60, respectively. The negative resistance was selected to be $30{\Omega}$, and the Q-factor was increased to 900 by reduction of the transmitter resistance, which was about 15 times higher than that of a conventional transmitter. The measured PTE was greatly improved in comparison to that of a conventional system. These results demonstrate that the PTE is enhanced by using the NIC.

The quality factors ($k_{Q,Q_0}$) were evaluated by appling the results recently studied for the effect of central electrode in TRS-398 protocol. The PTW-31010 and IBA-CC13 chambers were used in this study. The quality factors were calculated as a function of beam quality for high energy electron and photon beams and compared with data currently used in TRS-398 protocol. In the PTW-31010 chamber using aluminium electrode, appling the new central electrode collections, the quality factors were 0.4% and 0.9% higher than current TRS-398 data for high energy photon and electron beams respectively. In the IBA-CC13 chamber using C-552 electrode, there are no variations in quality factors compared to TRS-398 data currently used.

The Optimal results of Kalman Filtering on the Inverted Pendulum System requires an effective factor such as the noise covariance matrix Q, the measurement noise covariance matrix R and the initial error covariance matrix $P_0$. We present a special case where the optimality of the filter is not destroyed and not sensitive to scaling of these covariance matrix because these factors are unknown or are known only approximately in the practical situation. Moreover, the error covariance matrices issued by this method predict errors in the state estimate consistent with the scaled covariance matrices and not the issued state estimates. Various results using the scalar gain $\delta$ are derived to described the relations among the three covariance matrices, Kalman Gain and the error covariance matrices. This paper is described as follows: Section III a brief overview of the Inverted Pendulum system. Section IV deals with the mathematical dynamic model of the system used for the computer simulation. Section V presents a various simulation results using the scalar gain.

In the previous paper, we already discussed about the factor effected upon the initial maximum value of heat flux ($q_{max}$). Thermal conductivity, thermal transmittance and surface air cavity of wool fabrics were examind and their correlation to the $q_{max}$ was also studied In this study, the other factor was examined which had on effect upon the qmaf of an objective measure of warm/cool feeling. It was studied that the qmax correlated to the surface sturucture parameters (compression, friction, smoothness, roughness, thickness and weight). It was concerned to the degree of warm/cool feeling when we touched hand on fabrics. We selected twenty sorts of pure wool woven fabrics for men's fall-winter cloth (all Wool). The conclusions are as follow; 1. There was a good correlation between the $q_{max}$ and the compression property. 2. The surface structure parameters, smoothness and roughness, made various effects on the $q_{max}$, when the samples touched on a thin copper plate. So, there was not a certain correla-tion to the $q_{max}$.

Koshihikari has been one of the most popular rice cultivars with good eating quality since the 1960s despite its susceptibility to blast disease and lodging. To map the genes controlling blast resistance and to develop promising blast-resistant breeding lines inheriting Koshihikari's high eating quality, a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population was developed from a cross between Koshihikari and a blast resistance donor with early maturity, Baegilmi. A total of 394 Koshihikari × Baegilmi RILs (KBRIL), and the two parents, were evaluated for blast resistance and major agronomic traits including heading date, culm length, panicle length, and tiller number. A linkage map encompassing 1,272.7 cM was constructed from a subset of the KBRIL (n = 142) using 130 single nucleotide polymorphisms. Two quantitative trait loci (QTL) for blast resistance, qBL1.1 harboring Pish/Pi35 and qBL2.1 harboring Pib, were mapped onto chromosomes 1 and 2, respectively. qBL1.1 was detected in both of the experimental sites, Namwon and Jeonju, while qBL2.1 was only detected in Namwon. qBL1.1 and qBL2.1 did not affect agronomic traits, including heading date, culm length, panicle length, and tiller number. From the 394 KBRILs, lines that were phenotypically similar to Koshihikari were selected according to heading date and culm length and were further divided into the following two groups based on blast resistance: Koshishikari-type blast resistant lines (KR, n = 15) and Koshishikari-type blast susceptible lines (KS, n = 15). Although no significant differences were observed in the major agronomic traits between the two groups, the KR group produced a greater mean head rice ratio than the KS group. The present study provides useful materials for developing blast-resistant cultivars that inherit both Koshihikari's high eating quality and Baegilmi's blast resistance.
To investigate the structure of the forest community of Huibang valley in Sobaeksan National Park, twenty five plots were set up and surveyed. According to the analysis of classification by DCA community divided 4 groups. The divided groups are Pinus densiflora community, Q. mongolica -P. densiflora community. Q. mongolica-Stewartia koreana-Carpinus laxiflora community, and Q. mongolica- Acer pseudosieboldianum community. In the analysis by ordination, CCA which points out the relationship among the environmental variables, species and plots indicated primary step of secondary succession. The successional trends of both techniques. seem to be from P. densiflora through Q. mongolica, Q. serrate to C. laxiflora(or S. koreana) in canopy layer below an altitude of 800 meters, and from Rhododendron mucronulaltum. Rh. schlippenbachli. Rhus trichocarpa through Styrax obassia. Lindera obtusiloba to Magnolia sieboldii, Corylus sieboldiana in subtree and shrub layer. The positive correlation between the stand ordination scores .and soil moisture and soil humus were calculated.
