  • Steel-concrete composite beam has been used for a considerable time in building construction. An essential component of a composite beam is the shear connection between the steel section and the concrete slabs, which is provided by mechanical shear connectors. A variety of shapes and devices have been in use as shear connectors. This study summarizes the results of an experimental investigation involving the testing of push-out specimens with angle shear connectors. All of 22 push-out specimens were designed to study the effect of a number of parameters on the shear capacity of angle shear connectors such as the height of the angle connector, the length of welding, and the pitch of angles. Based on the test results, a design equation was developed for predicting the shear strength of angle shear connectors.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the push-shear bond strength between five commercial zirconia veneering ceramics and zirconia core cylinder, and to investigate the effect of biaxial flexural strength and zirconia liner glass treatments. The biaxial flexural strengths of the veneering ceramics were evaluated by a piston-on-three-ball test. The bond strengths between the Y-TZP cylinder and zirconia veneering ceramics were evaluated using the push-shear bond strength test. The data was analyzed using two-way ANOVA and Scheffe's test. The biaxial flexural strength of Cercon ceram kiss (CE) was higher than those of the other groups. The glass-treated and Triceram zirconia groups showed the highest value and the Creation ZI(CR) showed the lowest. In all groups, the liner glass treatment groups showed significantly higher push-shear bond strength than those without(P<0.05). The liner glass treatments of zirconia can improve the bond strength between the zirconia ceramic core and veneering ceramics.

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of the right or left knee lift during push up plus in the quadruped position on the serratus anterior (SA) muscle activity. Methods: Twenty-one subjects (male 11, female 10) performed the quadruped position on push up plus. The muscle activities of the lower trapezius (LT), SA, and upper trapezius (UT) were measured by surface electromyography. Repeated measurements of one-way ANOVA were performed for statistical analysis of the data, and the criterion for statistical significance was set to p<0.05 and comparative analysis of the UT and SA ratio using a Paired t-test. Results: The right SA increased the muscle activity of the right knee lift during quadruped position push up plus (p<0.05). In particular, the right SA muscle activity was higher than the left. In addition, comparative analysis of the UT and SA ratio to the right knee lift during quadruped position push up plus was performed (p<0.05). The right was found to be a significant statistic compared to the left, but the left SA increased the muscle activity of the left knee lift during quadruped position push up plus (p<0.05). The left SA muscle activity was higher than right. In addition, comparative analysis of UT and SA ratio to the left knee lift during quadruped position push up plus was performed (p<0.05). The left was found to be a significance statistic than the right. In addition, the interaction effect between the groups showed significant differences (p<0.05). Conclusion: Knee lift during push up plus is recommended for the selective activation of a research exercise protocol of one side of the serratus anterior.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of sling and vibrator application of knee push-up plus motion on trunk muscle activities. Ten healthy adult males(age, 23.00±0.45 years; height, 176.60±1.64 cm; body mass, 67.50±1.22 kg; and BMI, 21.65±0.34 kg/㎡) were participated in this study as subjects. Three types' knee push-up plus motions were performed(basic knee push-up plus motion, BKPP; knee push-up plus motion with sling, KPPS; knee push-up plus motion with vibration, KPPV). We measured the right side's trunk muscle activities of the upper trapezius(UT), pectoralis major(PM), serratus anterior(SA), rectus abdominis(RA), and external oblique(EO). The research findings were as follows. UT, PM, SA, RA, and EO muscle activities were greatest during KPPV(p<.001). These results are expected to serve as reference materials for knee push-up plus motion applications in training programs for trunk muscle strengthening.

  • The research on peer-to-peer streaming schemes has largely focused on tree-push and mesh-pull structures. However, the tree-push structure has a defect that the tree restructuring time is long, and the mesh-pull structure has long startup delay and lag time from source servers. In this paper, we propose a new peer-to-peer live streaming scheme based on a push-mesh structure that takes advantages of tree-push and mesh-pull structure simultaneously. This structure basically provides the mesh-pull mechanism for data transmission and utilizes peers with high network upload capacity. It also supports the push mechanism along with paths from a source server, super peers, and selected general peers. By NS-2 simulation experiments, we finally show that our proposed scheme can achieve shorter startup delay than the mesh-pull structure, similar lag time to tree-push structure and best playback continuity among the three schemes.

  • Despite an impressive growth of online sales, the bricks-and-mortar bandwagon still remain high-profile in the realm of consumer channel switching behavior. Different from the existing research exploring the consumer switching behavior from the offline to the online retailer, this study is an effort to investigate why and when do consumers switch from the online to the offline channel by applying the push-pull-mooring framework. Thus, structural equation modeling and SPSS were used to test the established hypotheses. The results, as expected, show that both push factors (i.e., perceived risk and dissatisfaction) and pull factors (alternative attractiveness and perceived ownership) are positively related to a consumer's intention to switch from the online to the offline channel. Moreover, all of expected interactions between push factors and mooring factors (i.e., switching costs, variety seeking, and subjective norms), and between pull factors and mooring factors are supported, except for the interactions between push factors and switching costs as well as between pull factors and subjective norms. Finally, implications and limitations are discussed.

  • This study is a case study on investigating the possibility of the school push as a tool of learner-instructor interaction in untact education environment. To this end, one-sentence dictation using the push was implemented and one survey was conducted on a total of 144 students from two different English courses, 127 of whom responded the survey. The findings revealed that the push is effective for instructors to communicate with students in that it has high accessibility as MIM and school-based app. However, making the push be a more useful tool requires for instructors to be committed to communication with their students, to be well informed about the strengths of the push for its promotion, and to provide comprehensive introduction on how to use the push and check if students use it well.

  • Objectives: This study verified the possibility of cementing fiberglass-reinforced posts using a flowable bulk-fill composite (BF), comparing its push-out bond strength and microhardness with these properties of 3 luting materials. Materials and Methods: Sixty endodontically treated bovine roots were used. Posts were cemented using conventional dual-cured cement (CC); self-adhesive cement (SA); dual-cured composite (RC); and BF. Push-out bond strength (n = 10) and microhardness (n = 5) tests were performed after 1 week and 4 months of storage. Two-way repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA), 1-way ANOVA, t-test, and Tukey post-hoc tests were applied for the push-out bond strength and microhardness results; and Pearson correlation test was applied to verify the correlation between push-out bond strength and microhardness results (α = 0.05). Results: BF presented higher push-out bond strength than CC and SA in the cervical third before aging (p < 0.01). No differences were found between push-out bond strength before and after aging for all the luting materials (p = 0.84). Regarding hardness, only SA presented higher values measured before than after aging (p < 0.01). RC and BF did not present 80% of the maximum hardness at the apical regions. A strong positive correlation was found between the luting materials' push-out bond strength and microhardness (p < 0.01, R2 = 0.7912). Conclusions: The BF presented comparable or higher push-out bond strength and microhardness than the luting materials, which indicates that it could be used for cementing resin posts in situations where adequate light curing is possible.

  • Traditional Manufacturing method is push system by plan made in advance and Japanese manufacturing method represented by JUST-IN-TIME is pull system which respond's to the demand flexibly. Both have their pros and cons. In general, it is well understood that push system is faster than pull system in the sense of manufacturing speed. However, pull system such as JIT excelles dramatically in the sense of work in process. Therefore, this paper is trying to put together to get alternative which has the advantage of both system. The objective of the paper is to enhance the effect of built-in manufacturing system without paying extra cost by way of introducing the alternative of the pull-push manufacturing strategic operational method.
