Recently internet shopping malls provide newer and more varied goods and services to meet the demand of their customers. And as new companies enter the on-line shopping mall business, competition in this specific market is getting stiffer. Therefore, to keep a more sustained relationship with their customers, internet shopping malls need to satisfy their customers with their goods and services and to make them loyal customers. Unlike bricks-and-mortar stores in real life, This study also aims to propose an on-line physical environment model, and to develop the existing on-line research into a physical environment. The physical environment is measured on the four dimensions and 4 measurement units and the on-line physical environment, trust, and purchasing decisions are also explained. This study makes contributions as follows. First, online physical environments contain theoretical syntheses and operational definition. Second, this study finds that trust is an important part of an on-line transaction. Third, this study provides an insight into some of the factors preceding purchasing decisions. Lastly, this study finds that the consumer's comprehension of the on-line environment has a considerable influence on trust and purchasing decisions.
Individuals gather information online to resolve problems in their daily lives and make various decisions about the purchase of products or services. With the revolutionary development of information technology, Web 2.0 has allowed more people to easily generate and use online reviews such that the volume of information is rapidly increasing, and the usefulness and significance of analyzing the unstructured data have also increased. This paper presents an analysis on the lexical features of expert product reviews to determine their influence on consumers' purchasing decisions. The focus was on how unstructured data can be organized and used in diverse contexts through text mining. In addition, diverse lexical features of expert reviews of contents provided by a third-party review site were extracted and defined. Expert reviews are defined as evaluations by people who have expert knowledge about specific products or services in newspapers or magazines; this type of review is also called a critic review. Consumers who purchased products before the widespread use of the Internet were able to access expert reviews through newspapers or magazines; thus, they were not able to access many of them. Recently, however, major media also now provide online services so that people can more easily and affordably access expert reviews compared to the past. The reason why diverse reviews from experts in several fields are important is that there is an information asymmetry where some information is not shared among consumers and sellers. The information asymmetry can be resolved with information provided by third parties with expertise to consumers. Then, consumers can read expert reviews and make purchasing decisions by considering the abundant information on products or services. Therefore, expert reviews play an important role in consumers' purchasing decisions and the performance of companies across diverse industries. If the influence of qualitative data such as reviews or assessment after the purchase of products can be separately identified from the quantitative data resources, such as the actual quality of products or price, it is possible to identify which aspects of product reviews hamper or promote product sales. Previous studies have focused on the characteristics of the experts themselves, such as the expertise and credibility of sources regarding expert reviews; however, these studies did not suggest the influence of the linguistic features of experts' product reviews on consumers' overall evaluation. However, this study focused on experts' recommendations and evaluations to reveal the lexical features of expert reviews and whether such features influence consumers' overall evaluations and purchasing decisions. Real expert product reviews were analyzed based on the suggested methodology, and five lexical features of expert reviews were ultimately determined. Specifically, the "review depth" (i.e., degree of detail of the expert's product analysis), and "lack of assurance" (i.e., degree of confidence that the expert has in the evaluation) have statistically significant effects on consumers' product evaluations. In contrast, the "positive polarity" (i.e., the degree of positivity of an expert's evaluations) has an insignificant effect, while the "negative polarity" (i.e., the degree of negativity of an expert's evaluations) has a significant negative effect on consumers' product evaluations. Finally, the "social orientation" (i.e., the degree of how many social expressions experts include in their reviews) does not have a significant effect on consumers' product evaluations. In summary, the lexical properties of the product reviews were defined according to each relevant factor. Then, the influence of each linguistic factor of expert reviews on the consumers' final evaluations was tested. In addition, a test was performed on whether each linguistic factor influencing consumers' product evaluations differs depending on the lexical features. The results of these analyses should provide guidelines on how individuals process massive volumes of unstructured data depending on lexical features in various contexts and how companies can use this mechanism from their perspective. This paper provides several theoretical and practical contributions, such as the proposal of a new methodology and its application to real data.
Despite the benefits of online shopping, we easily observe consumer behaviour when making purchases through offline channels. Why do they choose to go offline by taking the effort to go there? As a factor influencing decision-making, this study assumes that distrust of online shopping increases webrooming intentions that online consumers move to offline channels. Consumers check online reviews as well as seller information to increase their purchasing confidence. There are few studies on the effect of negative online reviews on consumers' purchasing decisions. Contrary to the pessimistic results of previous studies, the results of this study explain the mechanism by which consumers who saw negative online reviews feel distrust of online shopping and go to offline stores. It provides implications for understanding the migration phenomenon of online shoppers to offline channels and what strategies should be prepared to retain and attract customers to each channel.
Purchase decision behavior for and satisfaction with apparel among retail buyers and consumers were compared. Kunz's behavioral theory of the apparel fm was the conceptual framework; Oliver's disconfirmation model guided measurement of satisfaction. Buyers and consumers indicated their perceptions about shopping orientations, variables that influenced apparel purchasing decisions, the importance of aspects of customer service and attributes that they expected to find and found when shopping. Surveys were mailed to retailers and consumers identified by random sampling of company lists. Respondents were 66 buyers and 344 consumers. MANOVA revealed differences in retailers 'and consumers' shopping orientations, the influence of variables on purchase decisions, and perceptions of the importance of customer service. Paired sample t tests indicated dissatisfaction for buyers on 10 apparel/shopping attributes and consumers on nine items. Results support the need for vertically integrated manufacturers to redesign strategies that are more appealing to both retail buyers and consumers.
Consumer information influences purchasing behavior; however, less is known about the relationship in the credit market. Credit markets offer consumers a complex array of different products when choosing mortgages. The current study examines whether borrowers search for the very best terms when making major decisions about borrowing money or obtaining credit as well as explores the relation between consumer information seeking and the cost of credit. This study demonstrates the existence of price dispersion between those who made an extensive information seeking and those who did not. When controlling for the proxies of creditworthiness and demographics of the respondents, it is found that those who made a great deal of information seeking tend to have lower mortgage rates than those who made almost no information seeking. This study offers financial educators and policy makers suggestions on how to help consumers make better financial decisions.

The goal of the study was to see how polymer banknotes affected users' purchasing intention. Variables affecting the properties of polymer banknotes were considered, including security, ease of use, convenience, and durability. To achieve the study's main goal, quantitative methods were used, and a questionnaire was created and posted online through Google Forms to collect primary data. The questionnaire was completed by 403 people, and the data was screened and analyzed using SPSS.The study found that using Polymer money influenced people's behavior, particularly in terms of purchase patterns, decisions, and impulsive behavior toward purchases. This was attributed to the security and simplicity of using Polymer money, which appealed to many people. Furthermore, the study found that people lost their feeling of spending, meaning that using polymer money didn't feel like spending to them, effectively eliminating the moral guilt associated with excessive spending and encouraging more impulsive buying decisions.Based on the findings, the study recommends that a study be conducted to compare the use of Polymer money with tiny and large banknotes to see what kind of difference there is.
The selection of suppliers and the determination of order quantities to be placed with those suppliers are important decisions in a supply chain. In this research, a non-linear mixed integer programming model is presented to select suppliers and determine the order quantities. The model considers the purchasing cost which takes into account quantity discount, the cost of transportation, the fixed cost for establishing suppliers, the cost for holding inventory, and the cost of receiving poor quality parts. The capacity constraints for suppliers, quality and lead-time requirements for the parts are also taken into account in the model. Since the purchasing cost, which is a decreasing step function of order quantities, introduces discontinuities to the non-linear objective function, it is not easy to employ traditional optimization methods. Thus, a heuristic algorithm, called particle swarm optimization (PSO), is used to find the (near) optimal solution. However, PSO usually generates initial solutions randomly. To improve the PSO solution quality, a heuristic procedure is proposed to find an initial solution based on the average unit cost including transportation, purchasing, inventory, and poor quality part cost. The results show that PSO with the proposed initial solution heuristic provides better solutions than those with PSO algorithm only.
This study was intended to investigate the designs that are displayed on fashion windows, specifically the originality of its designs, from here on noted as "design originality", and the effects it has on the attitudes of consumers toward fashion brands and their purchasing intentions depending on their level of clothing involvement. For the purpose of this study, 10 pictures of creative fashion window display designs from Fifth Avenue in New York were selected and they were shown to 200 college students in Busan in order to collect data for the analysis. The results are as follows: 1) Factor analysis identified four factors that impacted how consumers judged design originality, uniqueness, humor, favorable impression and advanced design. 2) The four factors of design originality in fashion window display significantly affected consumer's evaluation on usefulness of information provided by the window display, attitudes toward fashion brands and purchase intention. 3) The respondents were separated into two groups depending on their level of clothing involvement. Consumers with high level of clothing involvement showed that they were influenced more by the design originality when making purchase decisions. Especially, the uniqueness factor and advanced design factor had more effect on brand attitudes and purchase intention in high level of clothing involvement group. The results revealed that creative fashion window display design are important marketing strategic tools that affect attitudes of consumers toward brands and their purchasing intentions.
This study sought to investigate the presence and characteristics of postulated variables(involvement & empathy) that may moderate the need for overt conflict - resolving behavior when husbands and wives disagree on a certain purchasing subdecision and that may explain husband - wife decision - making patterns. For the above purpose, the analyses of this study are based on response of 180 husbands and wives(90 couples) to questions concerning 11 subdecisions of house and sofa-set purchasing decisions. The results are summarized as follows; 1) Income, education, and wives job do not significantly differenciate the levels of involvement and empathy except that education does the levels of wives involvement and empathy and that wives job does the levels of husbands involvement. 2) Husbands and wives indicate significantly different levels of involvement and empathy on most subdecisions. i. e., wives regard all subdecisions importantly. and on 3 subdecisions of joint decision - making pattern, they have the higher consideration for their husband's preferences. 3) Incongruency in husband - wife responses to the questions of decision - making patterns are moderate. 4) Husbands and wives involvement / empathy discriminate well the patterns of decision - making on various subdecisions within 2 product classes. Wives empathy accounts for much discriminating power in both instances. Thus, the need to add these involvement and empathy variables to models of family decision - making is sugguested.

The purpose of this research is to explore what factors affect consumers' purchasing decisions when purchasing artificial intelligence artworks. The research pointed out that in the real shopping model, customer perceived value includes three dimensions: product perceived value, service perceived value and social perceived value. On this basis, an artificial intelligence work purchase decision-making influence model was constructed, and an online survey was attempted to collect data. Through analysis of the reliability, effectiveness and structural equations of SPSS24.0 and AMOS24.0, and scientific verification and analysis, we found that product cognitive value and service cognitive value have a positive impact on consumers' purchase intentions, but social cognition Value has no positive effect on consumers' purchasing intentions.
