From review on previous involvement literatures, enduring product involvement can be defined as "a person's arousal and motivational state activated by product on the basis of his basic value, objective and ego-relevance." To evaluate the effect of involvement on product purchase process, 11 hyphotheses concerning behavioral aspects which is expected to comprise consumer purchase process and to be influenced by degree of involvement were constructed: prepurchase information search, alternative brand comparision, utilization of product attribute, brand differentiation, brand commitment, product knowledge, influence of reference group, dependence on price, price awareness, cognitive dissonance and purchase optimization. Hyphotheses are tested with data from 388 housewives through 20 item involvement scale developed with multi-dimensional perspective on involvement. The scale successfully provides rank order of 8 selected products expected to cover the spectrum of product involvement: formal clothes, coffee, washing machine, shampoo, perfume, detergent, soft drink, pain-reliever as the order of product involvement. Major findings of this study are as follow. First of all, incresed differences were found in hihg involvement product like formal clothes with respect to the degree of prepurchase information search, alternative brand comparision, utilization of product attribute, influence of reference group in any method of analysis. Secondly, invlovement should be interpreted as a consumer characteristic rather than a product one. This means that consumers involve themselves with products, instead products themselves do not have any involvement.

  • There have been a lot of previous studies that brand image has a positive impact on purchase as well as the value enhancement of the product with the spread of brand importance and the introduction of brand in the apartment. This study verified that brand image can be factorized and separated into two factors - basic characteristics and additional characteristics. The basic characteristics means essential parts that generally should be provided for housing and the additional characteristics are competitively developed concepts introduced by construction companies for sales promotion. The results of the empirical analysis that verified the effects of the two factors on purchase intention are as follows. The basic characteristics have the positive impact on purchase intention while the additional characteristics are otherwise. This result suggests that it is more important to be faithful to the basics than to be competitively differentiated by the additional characteristics in the apartment market.

The e-commerce market share will become more important because it is not only a medium connecting B2C, but also because it will expand the scope of trade. This study aims to reveal the factors that influence purchase intention according to Korean-Chinese consumers in e-commerce. In addition, the study has comprehensively confirmed the influence between each factor in the e-commerce environment by integrating and analyzing the characteristic factors of online information sources and platforms in one structural equation. Finally, the study confirmed that there is a significant difference in the influence relationship between Korean and Chinese consumers. Through this, the study will contribute to content production in the e-commerce market according to the target market and the expansion of the mutual entry of Korea and China. Design/methodology - This study aims to confirm the mediating effect of the details of the online information source characteristics and platform characteristics when the perceived quality affects purchase intention. It is confirmed that the factors affecting Korean and Chinese consumers differ. Findings - It was confirmed that differences exist according to the group of Korean or Chinese consumers for the entire research model. In the case of Korean consumers, the mediating factors when perceived quality affects purchase intention are expertise, reliability, entertainment, informativity, and convenience; in the case of Chinese consumers, the factors are expertise and informativity. Originality/value - This study proved that Korean and Chinese consumers cannot be regarded as having the same characteristics, and therefore, strategies aimed at each e-commerce market should be differentiated. • This study examines the effects of Chinese consumers' lifestyles on pursuing the benefits and purchase intentions for athleisure wear. Chinese female consumers aged 20 to 40 in Shanghai and Chengdu, who have purchased athleisure wear were selected for a survey, and 510 questionnaires were collected. Data was analyzed using SPSS 26.0 software. Factor analysis, reliability verification, regression analysis, and discrete analysis were performed. As a result, Chinese consumers' lifestyles were classified into three categories: 'personality orientation', 'show-off orientation', and 'health orientation'. There were four benefits: 'situation pursuit', 'practicality pursuit', 'fashion style pursuit', and 'appearance pursuit' for athleisure wear. Among the lifestyle types of Chinese consumers, "individuality-oriented" showed a positive effect on "pursuit of practicality", "pursuit of situation", "pursuit of fashion style", and "pursuit of appearance" among the benefits of pursuing athleisure wear. Next, among lifestyle types, 'show-off orientation' showed a positive effect on 'individuality' and 'appearance pursuit'. Finally, among lifestyle types, 'health-oriented' showed a positive effect on 'pursuit of practicality' and 'pursuit of appearance'. On the other hand, Chinese consumers' lifestyle types of "show-off," "health-oriented," and "individuality-oriented" all exhibited a significant impact on their purchase intention for athleisure wear. According to age groups and location, there is no significant difference in terms of 'lifestyle', 'athleisure wear pursuit benefits' and 'purchase intention'. • This study investigates the structural relationship among 11 latent factors that potentially influence the intention of Chinese consumers to purchase electrical vehicles (EV) by applying the MGB and TAM models, both based on well-established socio-psychological theories. For this research, we conducted an online survey using a Chinese platform collecting 287 valid responses to our questionnaire. The analysis reveals that 10 out of the 12 hypotheses were adopted while 2 were rejected. Specifically, it was found that EC (environment concern) and PEV (perceived environment value) had a positive effect on the PEU (perceived environmental usefulness) of electric vehicles. In addition, ATT (attitude), PAE (positive anticipated emotion), and PBC (perceived behavior control) were confirmed to have a significant positive relationship with DES (desire) for EV purchase. At the same time, the results of the analysis show a statistically significant relationship between PEU, ATT as well as PI (purchase intention). This study further analyzed and presented the results of the moderating effects of gender, based on the adopted relationship hypotheses. This study is novel in that it is the first attempt in the literature to apply both the MGB model and the TAM simultaneously to predict EV purchasing behavior.

  • There has been a gradual increase in distribution of counterfeit products and resulting damage cases from companies and consumers. It examines which antecedent variables have significant effects on consumer perceived satisfaction or regret. To test the related hypotheses, such antecedent variables as the utilitarian value, the hedonic value, legal regulations, and ethical mentality of consumers were examined and also did whether these factors have differences between Korean and Chinese consumers. Findings from the empirical analysis are as follows. First, Korean and Chinese consumers' perceived utilitarian value and hedonic value in counterfeit products in contrast to original products are found to have a positive influence on consumer perceived satisfaction with counterfeits while they have a negative influence on consumer perceived regret with counterfeits. Second, in the case of Korean consumers, the hypothesis that legal regulations on counterfeit products will influence the degree of regret with counterfeit products has been rejected. And it is found that the more ethical Korean consumers are, the more regretful for their post purchase they feel. Third, in the case of Chinese consumers, the hypothesis that legal regulations and ethical on counterfeit products will influence the degree of regret with counterfeit products has been rejected. Therefore, it can be said that the results in this paper provide significant implications for government policy, legal regulation and enforcement, and some need for a change in consumer consciousness and attitude as well as for marketing strategies of Korean and Chinese famous brand manufacturing companies.
