0.7 MJ UPS용 초전도 케이블의 ?치 특성 (Quench Characteristics of the Superconduction Cable for a 0.7 MJ UPS)

  • Recently a few MJ superconducting magnetic energy storage ($\mu$ SMES) devices become commerci-ally available as one of the energy storage devices for uniterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. For such a ($\mu$ SMES) devics, a few kA class superconducting cables with high current density, high stability and excellent pulse characteristics are required. To acquire data for the superconduction cables related to design and fabrication of a 0.7 MJ $\mu$ SMES device, we tested critical currents and quench characteristics for several winding tensions and various remping rates especially. It is shown from the results that winding tensions have much influence on quench currents of the $\mu$ SMES devices.

  • In this paper, we designed and fabricated a partial discharge (PD) detector to diagnose the soundness of CNCV cables by analyzing PD pulses and to predict discharge locations. The PD detector is consisted of a coupling network with a discharge free capacitor and a detection impedance, a voltage follower and a low noise amplifier. Lower cut-off frequency of the detector is adjusted at 175kHz to block AC voltage and to pass discharge pulse only. The discharge location could be obtained by the time of arrival method using travelling wave propagation theory. In a laboratory test on an eighty meter CV cable, we could position the discharge location within a two meter error.

희귀 행렬 근사 S-FEM을 이용한 비선형 광펄스의 편광 모드 분산 해석 (Analysis of Polarization Mode Dispersion in Nonlinear Optical Pulse propagation by SS-FEM adopting Approximated Sparse Matrix)

  • 광섬유 통신 시스템이 고속화되고 장거리를 전송하게 될 수록 편광모드 분산의 중요성은 더욱 부각되어 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 복굴절 광섬유에서 비선형 광펄스의 전파특성을 편광 모드 분산의 영향을 고려하여 시뮬레이션하였으며 이러한 현상이 발생되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 광섬유 비션형성에 의해서 GVD(Group Velocity Dispersion)와 마찬가기로 PMD(Polarization Mode Dispersion)에서도 부분적인 보상 현상이 나타남을 수치 결과를 통해 알 수 있었다. 이러한 광 전송 시뮬레이션을 구현하기 위해서 기존의 단계분할 푸리에 방식 (SS-FM, Split-Step Fourier Method)보다 장거리 전송시 오차의 발생이 적은 단계 분할 유한 요소법)SS-FEM, Split-Step Finite Element Method)을 적용하였으며, 또한 그 단점인 수행 속도를 개선한 희귀 행렬 근사 단계 분할 유한 요소법을 제안하였다. 그 결과 제안된 방법이 기존의 푸리에 연산법이나 일반적인 유한 요소법과 비교하여 더 빠른 수행 속도를 나타내는 것을 알 수 있었다.

저밀도 폴리에틸렌에서 부시형 전기트리에 수반되는 부분방전 펄스의 특성 (Properties of PD Pulses Accompanying with Bush-type Tree in LDPE)

  • The correlation between the propagation of electrical tree and distributions of partial discharge(PD) pulses accompanying with electrical tree of bush type in low density polyethylene were discussed. We measured the growth of electrical tree by using optical microscope and PD data simultaneously. The PD data detected and analyzed were PD magnitude, repetition rate, average discharge power, average phase angle, and $\psi$-q-n distribution pattern. The average discharge power and repetition rate of PD had good linear relation with area of tree. Repetition rate and peak discharge magnitude and width of discharge phase angle increased with the tree.

  • A lot of R&D on the diagnosis of stator winding insulation for large rotating machines has been carried out since the 1970s. The on-line partial discharge measurement has proved to be an effective technique in the evaluation of the state of stator insulation in high voltage rotating machines. It is well known that if the discharge pulses propagate through the winding conductor, they are attenuated and delayed. In the present study, to investigate the attenuation and the time delay of discharge pulses through the winding conductor, a series of tests were conducted using a model coils and slot. Thus it could be concluded that while the high frequency pulse propagates in radiation or end-winding coupling modes, the low frequency one does in a series mode through the coil conductor.

  • Fe-4Ni-0.5Mo-1Cu powder was selected as raw material, pressed and sinter-hardened at $1135\;^{\circ}C$ for 30 min with rapid cooling. The density varies in the range of $7.24-7.29\;g/cm^3$. Its fatigue properties have been tested in axial loading of alternating tensile/compressive stress at R=-1 with a servo-pulse pump. The fatigue endurance limit was measured to be 260 MPa. The microstructure showed more homogeneous bainite and martensite. Fractography displayed the fatigue cracks initiated from the pore areas near the surface. A non-typical ductile fatigue striation was found. More dimples occurred on fracture surface due to the plastic deformation, which can prohibit cracking propagation and improve its fatigue properties.

  • In order to study the basic I-V behavior and quench characteristics, we fabricated two kinds of small superconducting coils which were wound with different superconductors. In this study, it was made clear that the propagation. velocity of normal zone preferentially depends on the operation current rather than heat pulse energy and also increases exponentially with respect to operation current.

적외선을 이용한 생체신호의 원격측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Biotelemetry using Infra-red Light)

  • Recently, interest in infra-red(IR) telemetry has increased because of the entirely different propagation and reflection properties of IR light as compared to radiowaves. IR hardly penetrates most materials and is reflected from obstacles. An biotelemetry system using these characteristics of indirect transmitted IR lights was developed, in which 3 ECG's are multiplexed and modulated in PDM/PIM pulse sequence. This proto-type system enables us to realize the non-restraint measurement of biological signals. Compared with conventional radio telemetry, this technique has some merits such as no electromagnetic interference, no frequency allocation problem, no government control over transmission power.

신경회로망을 이용한 철도레일 용접부의 건전성평가 (The Integrity Evaluation of weld zone in railway rails Using Neural Network)

  • This study proposes the neural network simulator for the integrity evaluation of weld zone in railway rails. For these purposes, the ultrasonic signals for defects(crack) of weld zone in frames are acquired in the type of time series data and echo strength. The detection of the natural defects in railway truck is performed using the characteristics of echodynamic pattern in ultrasonic signal. And then their applications evaluated feature extraction based on the time-frequency-attractor domain(peak to peak, rise time, rise slope, fall time, fall slope, pulse duration, power spectrum, and bandwidth) and attractor characteristics (fractal dimension and attractor quadrant) etc. The constructed neural network simulator agrees fairly well with the measured results of test block(defect location, beam propagation distance, echo strength, etc). The Proposed neural network simulator in this study can be used for the integrity evaluation of weld zone in railway rails.

5 GHz 대역 무선 랜의 실내 간섭 영향에 따른 데이터 전송률 측정 연구 (A Study of Data Transmission Rate Measurement in 5 GHz Band Wireless LAN under the Influence of the Indoor Interference)

  • 이 논문에서는 기존에 운용되고 있는 5 GHz 대역의 무선통신 시스템과 무선 랜 시스템간의 전파 간섭 특성을 이해하기 위하여 실내 환경에서 간섭 실험을 수행하여 5 GHz 대역의 주파수 특성을 분석하였다. 신호 발생기에 의해 생성된 간섭 신호를 5 CHz 무선 랜 통신 시스템에 주사하여 주파수 간섭특성을 측정하였으며 전파 간섭의 주요간섭 요소로는 간섭원 주파수의 수신 레벨 이격, 간섭원 주파수 펄스의 주기 및 폭 이격 이다. 마지막으로 측정 시스템인 5 CHz 대역 무선 랜의 신뢰도를 확인하기 위하여 가변적인 데이터 전송률과 패킷 크기에 따른 전송률을 측정하였다. 이러한 측정 요소들을 측정하고자 하는 주파수 대역에서 패킷 손실률과 수신 레벨을 측정하여 간섭요인에 의한 특성을 분석하였다.
