Korean Medical Insurance Cooperation executed the physical checkup intended for all the members of public officials, school personnel in private schools, and the insured as a national-wide event in 1980. This is the result of a part of Taegu district and its contiguous country this hospital took charge of. Physical checkup method was divided into the first health examination and tile second health examination. The second health examination was executed for those who needed reexamination according to the result of the first health examination. After that, we passed judgement on the result finally. The total number of the first health examination was 10,779; 4,606 in public officials, 2,327 in police constables, 3,976 in school personnel in private schools. The classification of physical checkup is as follows; A group: normal groups B group: those who do not require immediate medical care but require preventive measures or who are doubtful of disease or who had undetermined diagnosis (attention) C group: those who require immediate medical care but who are able to be on duty (simple recuperation) D group: those who require immediate medical treatment and recuperation (suspension from office and recuperation) Total B group to the in the first health examination was 4.73%, that of total C,D groups 2.21%. That of total C,D groups to the total in the first health examination by occupation was 2.30% in public officials, 2.19% in police constables, 2.04% in school personnel. Consequently there was no different among occupations. Total C,D groups of hypertension to the total in the first health examination was 1.68% and hypertension was 76.05% to all disease. These rates mentioned to above were higher than any other rate in disease. Subsequently, being low, the rate of diabetes was 15.54%. From the view point of age, the higher rate appeared in men and women over 35 years old of B group and over 45 years old of C,D groups in three occupations in comparison with other ages and the older men were, the higher men who took a disease were.
This article attempts to explain social media use within the relationship between the public and government of Indonesia in the era of digital government, as well as to consider public opinion on this matter. This research is based on the application of social media logic and the theory of dialogic communication and action. A qualitative descriptive approach was used to observe the general behavior of social media use by 34 ministries in Indonesia, including interviews with the resource persons within the ministries and focus group discussions with members of the public and observers. The research shows that the relationship between the public and government is accommodative and in line with social media logic. The public sector implemented social media as its platform, which has been further adopted by all ministries. The public sector cannot avoid social media, as it has become part of basic connectivity, even though the use of social media by the government still tends to be in the form of presenting public information. There are advantages and disadvantages of the usage of social media by the government. The advantages include allowing the government to be more open via social media so that communication between the government as the ruling organization and its public can be more fluent. Social media provides space to the public sector in the practice of digital government. Some disadvantages arise as logical consequences that usage of social media cannot be separated from the implementation of digital government. The adaptive behavior of social media by the government can be found by following social media logic as part of digital government implementation. Social media logic causes the government to follow the rules of social media. In this context, the strength and power of the country seems to be regulated by social media. Therefore, more studies on how social media is managed in the context of its usage as digital government support is needed.
Purpose: This research is to find a solution for educational work on high blood pressure control in public health centers by analyzing their current status. Method: It analyzed data from 133 public health centers that had been doing educational work on high blood pressure, through a questionnaire. Also, it developed recommendations by converging opinions from an expert group made of 25 people with nominal group technique. Result: The educational methods of public health centers did not make any approach to get to the goal of the work. The mass media education and campaign activities for the general public had just temporary and passive propensities. In education for patients, it did not use appropriate methods to present management techniques for diagnosis process of patients, medication management, self monitoring BP, and risk factors. Pocket book for monitoring high blood pressure was not focused on self-recording for self-management. The expert group recommended that educational materials for adults should be developed focusing on treatments and observance of risk factors through daily living, and those for children should be focused on basic understanding about diseases, and life style. Conclusion: Presenting direction and strategy of fundamental education work is needed for public health centers by giving them standard educational guidelines of managing high blood pressure nationally, and it is desirable that fundamental frameworks of educational materials should be developed and distributed by professional groups nationally.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the effects of Satir's model based communication education on communication competence, emotional intelligence and depression-happiness in regional public hospital nurses. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design was used. The subjects were 36 nurses of the experimental group and 36 nurses of the control group. Satir's model based communication education was conducted for two days and the dependent variables were measured using the global interpersonal communication competence scale (GICC), emotional intelligence scale and short depression-happiness scale (SDHS). Data were analyzed by the Chi-squared test, Fisher's exact test and ANCOVA using SPSS 21.0. Results: Communication competence (F=12.7, p<.001) was significantly increased in the experimental group, as was emotional intelligence (F=6.67, p=.01). Conclusion: The results of the study suggest that Satir's model based communication education is an effective method to increase public hospital nurses' communication competence and emotional intelligence.
This study measured technology transfer efficiency for public institutes. The study made use of DEA being one of the non-parametric linear programming to evaluate technology transfer efficiency for public institutes and to measure technology efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency. The measurement of the technology transfer efficiency for public institutes was as follows: The cause of the technology transfer inefficiency was affected by pure technical inefficiency more than by scale inefficiency. Public institutes' RTS(Return To Scale) value varied depending upon the features of the organizations than the features of the regions. Public research institutes' RTS value is more effective than universities' RTS value. We compared the RTS group with the RTS of Projected DMU groups. The RTS group had constant returns to scale effect while the RTS of the Projected DMU had increasing returns to scale effect. The technology transfer efficiency of public institutes varied depending upon the features of the organizations and regions : The technology transfer efficiency of public institutes were as follows : public research institutes at the metropolitan area, public research institutes at the local areas, universities at the metropolitan area and universities at the local areas. In other words, the technology transfer efficiency was affected by organizational characteristics more than by regional characteristics at the place where public institutes were located.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of frankincense oil in skin aging animal model. Skin aging was induced by both the irradiation of UVB and the application of squalene monohydroperoxide (Sq-OOH) to the back of experimental animals for 4 weeks. And at the same time experimental materials were applied topically. Six to seven weeks female SHR-1 hairless mice were divided into five groups including normal (N: saline), control (C: UVB+Sq-OOH+saline), vehicle control (VC: UVB+Sq-OOH+jojoba oil), positive control (PC: UVB+Sq-OOH+0.01% retinoic acid) and experimental (E: UVB+Sq-OOH+3% Frankincense oil) groups, five animals each group. Lipid lamella and lipid content in stratum corneum of the E group were almost intact with a regular arrangement which were similar to the N group. Collagen fibers in dermis of the E group were almost intact with a regular arrangement which were similar to the N group. Relatively much less number of mast cells and inflammatory cells were found in the E group compared to the C group. The activities of XO, SOD and CAT were no significant difference between the E and N groups. In conclusion, the application of frankincense oil to the skin aging animal model reduced both the generation of free radicals and the damage of skin tissues. Therefore, frankincense oil can be used practically for the prevention or improvement of skin aging in terms of health promotion and beauty for the people.
Subjective symptoms, counts of blood cells and liver function test were conducted on 198 male workers who were exposed to toluene in Kyungin area from September to November, 1986. According to the level of urinary hippuric acid concentration, the total sample was classified into the high exposure group ($concentration{\geqq}3g/1$) and the low exposure group(concentration<3g/1). The following findings were obtained by comparing the two group: 1) Contrary to the previous findings. the urinary hippuric acid concentration of toluene exposed workers showed bimodal distribution. It meant that the toluene exposed workers were mixed with the non-exposed or minimal exposed workers. 2) The high exposure group showed a lower level of leucocytes counts ($6,630{\pm}1,860{\mu}l$) than the low exposure group ($6,340{\pm}1,960/{\mu}l$). 3) The high exposure group showed a higher level of SGOT, SGPT and r-GTP than the low exposure group (p<0.05). 4) The high exposure group complained much more subjective symptoms (e. g. skin rash, loss of appetite, palpitation) than the low exposure group.
Objectives: This study aimed to assess the association between physical activity and health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in Koreans. Methods: A total of 9,689 adults(${\geq}19$ years, 4,036 men) from the Fourth National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(2007-2008) were examined by the International Physical Activity Questionnaraire (IPAQ)-short form and Korean EuroQol-5 Dimension(KEQ-5D). Results: For the physical activity by IPAQ, 'Inactive group' was 75.3%, 'Minimally active group' was 23.5%, and 'Health-Enhancing Physical Activity(HEPA) group' was 1.2%. The mean HRQOL index was $0.89{\pm}0.13$. These relations of physical activity and HRQOL remained significant after adjustment for age, sex, smoking, subjective health status, stress, depression, and socioeconomic status variables (Adjusted $R^2$ = 0.334). Conclusions: Physical activity was associated with health-related quality of life. Physically active group had higher health-related quality of life than the inactive group.
The purpose of this study was to identify the present use of caregiver services, to evaluate the degree of satisfaction with the services according to type of caregiver service, private or public, and to provide data for the development of a plan which will provide good quality service with less economic and psychological burden to the patients and their families. Survey data were collected from 130 patients in 4 general hospitals in Seoul, and their families. Data were collected during April, 2004, using a questionnaire which included the patient satisfaction scale developed by Jun (2001). Data were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviations, $X^2$ analysis, t-test. The SPSS computer program was used to facilitate analysis. The results of this study are summarized as follows; The total score for satisfaction was high for both groups. For the private caregiver group it was $52.38{\pm}11.08$, and for the public caregiver group, $58.14{\pm}9.64$. This difference was significant(t=-3.391, p=.001). In all of areas, the scores for satisfaction of the public caregiver service group were higher than private caregiver service group, ie. caregivers' attitude, role, confidence, performance, and service charge, and all the differences were significant. In conclusion, it was found that long-term hospitalization of older patients with high dependence resulted in more caregiver service. There were more severe patients in the public caregiver group, but the service charges, additional costs and paid holidays were less. Based on these results, patients and their families were significantly more satisfied with public caregiver service because it was not only less expensive but also had a high quality of service. Thus, caregiver services should be systemized so that patients and their families will get the best quality caregiver service
For the purpose to analysis the characteristics of traffic accidents(TA) and investigate the relationship between traffic accidents and children attention problem rating scale(CAP) and, family environment scale(FES), this questionnaire survey was conducted to the 16 primary school students in Taejon from July 14 to August 26, 1997. The number of study subjects who had an experience of traffic accidents from July 1, 1996 to June 30, 1997 were 195, and the number of control sujects were 512. The main results were as follows; 1. The traffic accident rates was 0.9% as a whole, but those were 1.4% in boys, 0.7% in girls, 1.3% in low (1st-3rd) grade, and 0.8% in high (4th-6th) grade. 2. The rates of traffic accidents were high in spring, friday, afternoon and a drive-way around home. TA occurred during walking with friends most frequently. 3. In CAP the score of inattention was lower in TA group than control group, and hyperactivity was higher in TA group but they didn't showed significantly different. In FES, cohesion score was higher in TA group than control group, but Conflict score and Expressiveness score were in control group, but they didn't showed significantly different. 4. In CAP the odds ratio of inattention score for TA group was 0.84, but that of hyperactivity score was 1.15. In FES, the odds ratio of cohesion score was 1.06, but that of expression score and conflict score was 0.94 and 0.96, respectively. In conclusion, the relationships between TA and CAP, TA and FES in this study were not clear to explain personal characteristics and environmental conditions.
