  • The late $19^{th}$ and early $20^{th}$ centuries of Korea were the times when the Confucianism (牲理學) ideology was shaken heavily under the influences of modernism and capitalism by Western and Japanese military and political-economic forces. Under such circumstances, alteration of clothing was much influenced by ideologies than changes in social structure or technological advance. In this study, an ideology was defined as "the force which drives people into a particular social order". Ideologies were postulated as an ongoing process of socialization with dialectic features rather than being a static state. Comparative analyses on conflict structures and different clothing patterns symbolizing the ideologies of the Ruling (支配) and the Opposition (對抗) were conducted. Investigating dresses as representations of ideologies is to reconsider the notion of dichotomous confrontation between the conservatives (守舊派) and the progressives (開化派) and a recognition of Koreans' passively accepting modernity during the Japanese occupation. This may also have contributed to enlightening Koreans about modernization. Here are the results. First, the theoretical review found that ideologies were represented by not only symbols of discourse, but also dresses, and that dresses embodied both physical and conceptual systems presenting differences between ideologies and their natures, Second, during the late 19th century Korea, conflict between conservatives' Hanbok (韓服) and progressives' Western suits (洋服) was found. Moderate progressives showed their identity by "Colored Clothing" (深色衣), and radical progressives by black suits with short hair (黑衣斷髮) or by western suits (洋服). The ultimate goal of both parties was a "Modern Nation". With these efforts, pale jade green coats and traditional hats symbolizing the nobleman class was eliminated within 30 years from 1880 to 1910, and then simple robes and short hair emerged. However, the powerful Japanese army had taken over the hegemony of East Asia, and Korea was sharply divided into modernization and pro-Japanese camps. Third, during the time of Japanese colonial rule, the dress codes having set by the modernization policies during the time of enlightenment were abandoned and colonial uniforms for the colonial system was meticulously introduced. During this period, Western or Japanese-style uniforms were the symbol of the ruling ideology. In the mean time, Hanbok, particularly "White Clothing (白衣)", emerged as a representation of the opposition ideology. However, due to Japan's coercive power and strong zeal for "Great orient (大東亞)", white clothing remained as a mere symbol. Meanwhile, Reformists (實力養成論者) movement toward improving quality of life followed a similar path of the Japanese policies and was eventually incorporated into the ruling ideology. Fourth, dresses as representations of ruling ideologies were enforced by organizational powers, such as organizations and laws, and binding policies, and changes in such dresses were more significant when the ruling ideologies were stronger. Clothing of the opposition ideology was expressed as an aggregation of public consciousness. During the period, the subjects of ruling ideology and the objects who were granted modernization benefits were different although their drives for colored clothing with short hair (色衣斷髮) for modernization were similar.

  • Due to the rapid development in mobile communication technologies, the usage of mobile devices such as cellular phones and PDAs becomes increasingly popular. One of the best ways to maximize the usability of mobile devices is to make them aware of their current locations and the locations of other fixed and mobile objects. In this paper, we propose a cost-effective Bus Information System, ACE-BIS, which utilizes a mobile device to retrieve the bus routes to reach a destination from the current location. To accomplish this task, ACE-BIS maintains a small amount of information on bus stops and bus routes in a mobile device and runs a heuristic routing algorithm based on such information. When a user asks more accurate route information or calls for a 'leave later query', ACE-BIS entrusts the task to a server into which real-time traffic and bus location information is being collected. By separating the roles into a mobile device and a server, ACE-BIS is able to provide bus routes at the lowest cost for wireless communications, without imposing much burden to a server. The results of extensive experiments revealed that ACE-BIS is effective and scalable in most experimental settings.

  • Media like TV programs and movies has deeply rooted in the public and it can supply affluent informations on special tourist attractions during short time relatively. Media can make the image of special objects and destinations recreated and viewers induced to the special places. Because of these positive effects, many countries and self governing bodies having tried place marketing through media have done their best to raise the image of their tourist attractions and induce a visit. So, most of studies about the effect relations between media and tourist attractions have been done about the confirmation of the impact relation between media and the image raising of tourist attractions and between media and the tourists's visit inducement. This study reconfirms the results of the existing studies and confirms whether the difference of media program genre causes that of the impact relation between media and the image raising of tourist attractions and between media and the tourists's visit inducement. In order to confirm these purposes, 3 assumptions are established and are proved through statistical analyses based on a questionnaire. According to the results of these analyses, all of 3 established assumptions : assumption 1, the impact relation between media program genres and the image of tourist attraction, assumption 2, the impact relation between the image of tourist attractions and behavior intention, and assumption 3, the impact relation between media program genres and behavior intention, are partly accepted.

  • Constructionists believe that mathematical knowledge is obtained by a series of purely mental constructions, with all mathematical objects existing only in the mind of the mathematician. But constructivism runs the risk of rejecting the classical laws of logic, especially the principle of bivalence and L. E. M.(Law of the Excluded Middle). This philosophy of mathematics also does not take into account the external world, and when it is taken to extremes it can mean that there is no possibility of communication from one mind to another. Two constructionists, Brouwer and Dummett, are common in rejecting the L. E. M. as a basic law of logic. As indicated by Dummett, those who first realized that rejecting realism entailed rejecting classical logic were the intuitionists of the school of Brouwer. However for Dummett, the debate between realists and antirealists is in fact a debate about semantics - about how language gets its meaning. This difference of initial viewpoints between the two constructionists makes Brouwer the intuitionist and Dummettthe the semantic anti-realist. This paper is confined to show that Dummett's proposal in favor of intuitionism differs from that of Brouwer. Brouwer's intuitionism maintained that the meaning of a mathematical sentence is essentially private and incommunicable. In contrast, Dummett's semantic anti-realism argument stresses the public and communicable character of the meaning of mathematical sentences.

  • The objective of this study is to catch hold of the problem occurring in the process in which librarians have obtained government publications and to show the method that can construct the rational distribution system of government publications. For this study, total 56 librarians who work for 44 institutes sponsored by central government and 12 institutes sponsored by local government were chosen as the objects of research and questionnaire survey to know how to obtain government publications. How to construct the rational distribution system of government publications is as follows. (1) The exclusive organization to manage overall service for government publications should be established newly or previous similar organization should be reorganized. (2) As reinforcing the law concerning deposit copy, government publications should be distributed obligatorily to all of the depository agency, and the depository library system of government publications should be introduced and managed newly. Especially the management of deposit copy and the depository library system of government publications should be undertaken by the exclusive agency of government publications. (3) Free-government publications should be converted to pay-government publications as much as possible so that everyone can purchase government publications easily. And free-government publications which are difficult to convert to pay-government publications should be distributed according to rational standard by the exclusive agency of government publications. (4) Pay-government publications should be sold by private distribution organization under exclusive agency of government publications. Also printing, editing and pricing of pay-government publications should be done by private distribution organization to compete with general books. (5) In order to promote the sales of pay-government publications, the sales centers of government publications must be established even in city and county. Also special government publications which have much demand should be sold even in general book stores. Especially the management of the sales centers should be undertaken by private distribution organization. (6) It is necessary to abolish or improve unreasonable regulations or system related to government publications and to make legislative, institutional devices for government publications. (7) The public relations for government publications should be enforced much through TV or radio etc. , and the various bibliographic tools of government publications should be developed and disseminated for the sake of much utilization of government publications. • This study analyzed descriptions about dots, lines, and sides which are used as a basic elements to express geometric figures as followings: -In the aspect of formative art, dots form images and feelings through their concurrence when make a slight move to coordinates. The concurrence can bring out either positive or negative images; -Lines have unlimited variation as a core measure in body art. They can make optimal effects with different lines such as straight and curved lines of human body; -Sides express not only effects of texture and perspective but also of space and solid by color effects. Expressive characteristics and geometric shapes can be classified by tattoo, henna and body painting: First, colorful tattoos are favored by Caucasian and original tattoos are mostly used by yellow and colored races in the way of scarification to get decorative effects. Recently, a rapid cycle of fashion change in tattoo figures has developed a tentative method of tattooing and a variety of decoration methods. It has made it a lot easier to change a pattern of a tattoo. Tattoos are now popular among people because they no longer have to suffer from pains when they get their body tattooed for a long time. Since tattoos boast their unique beauty which consists of most dynamic and attractive images among the types of body art. It will be one of the most favored make-up methods in the nearest future. Second, geometric designs used in henna include crosses, dots, straight lines, triangles, date palms, and so on. Henna has been particularly loved as an instant decoration by the public since it gradually disappears as time goes on. Third, body painting enables to draw a three-dimensional effect because of its close relation with body movements in a limited space. Each individual will have a different feeling appealed in their body painting. Body painting has been applied to many different areas, especially to theatrical art using lights, music and performance altogether producing impromptu and experimental works. Unlike other arts such as painting, sculpture, visual and industrial arts, body painting has mobility. Since it is painted on a three-dimensional human body, it can bear originality expressing realistic objects or animals and strengthen creative functions using body lines. Moreover, geometric designs can be diversified by the sexes. As a result of analysis, geometric designs expressed in body art seemed to transcend expressions of beauty and turned out to be another way of decoration. Body art has also been used as a way to express visual integration and consolidation dynamically not by human instinct but by social changes. The needs for body art will grow as the future comes nearer and be recognized as a new and fresh value. Formative elements of geometric figures deliver visual impressions combined with human body and finally create more various types of body art in harmony of body lines.

  • In construction site, BIM is used in part of construct-ability review and design mistake checking. However, in a current domestic construction site, except public order project, most of work in private order project has been processing based on 2D work. As an expert resists to certain point in introduction of new technique, it may be shown in the introduction of BIM. For this, We need to analysis construct-ability of introducing BIM, work field of introducing and operational capability about present domestic construction engineers. Therefore, this study solves the problem of existing construct-ability analysis, and it visualizes the various information and objects for an effective job performance. Furthermore, construct-ability analysis by BIM that can use an intergrated management is theoretically examined and practical field-application priority among conclusions is proposed through a survey targeting on the hand-on worker. Therefore, this study suggests a factor supplying for a business-centric introduction plan and support condition.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop system and to establish methodology for managing spatial Database in Land Management Information System(LMIS). Spatial Database which is used by a various public department such as parcel survey and registry, land use planning and Land value appraisal in local government, is composed of parcel map, topographic map and zoning map. Spatial data has been constructed and managed by various department and then hard to maintain accuracy and coinsistency. So, it is important to establish the basic data management concept that source data(ex : parcel map, topographic map, zoning map, etc.) should be managed by responsible department. at the same time, application data for bussiness (ex : individual parcel price map) must be recomposed from base map by it's own objects. This is, Spatial data management system (SDMS) should be designed, developed according to this concept for managing consistency among data, reducing construction and management cost of database. Our SDMS was developed based on Open LMIS middleware architecture using OpenGIS CORBA specification for standard interface, RUP(Rational Unified Process) for development methodology, UML(Unified Modeling Language) for system design and VisiBroker, C++, CAD system for system implementation.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate research trends about convergence and integrated science education through the analysis of theses published from January, 2000 to June, 2011 in the scientific journals. For the analysis of the theses, we set standards of analysis including the number of theses, integrated types, research methods, the designs of study and the objects of study. The number of theses used for the analysis were 110 volumes and these were limited to the Journal of KASE (The Korean Association for Science Education) and Journal of KESES (The Korean Society of Elementary Science Education). The results of the study are as follows. First, in the analysis of theses according to the published year, we discovered that the volumes of theses related to convergence and integrated science education were only about 10% of theses published in the journals. Second, the theses about STS education and integration type were the most common type in the integrated types, and the next things were integration type with other scientific fields, and integration type with other subjects. Third, 50% of theses have focused on the 'analysis of effect' as research methods and 45.5% of the theses have used 'quantitative research' as the designs of study. Fourth, the most common study in the theses was to target elementary school students, then it was middle school students, then high school students, literature, teachers, would-be teachers, and the general public. On the basis of the results of this research, we suggest that various studies can develop student's creativity and teacher's recognition through STEAM education and must be presented for the successful STEAM education.
