Public perceptions of nanotechnology and its potential risk can be an important measure for the sustainable advances of the technology. We conducted a survey for public (N =599) and experts (N = 165). They answered the same questions and results were analyzed. 74% of the public have not heard about the potential risk of nanotechnology and 77% expected that nanotechnology/materials are not harmful to the human and nature. 74% of experts realized the potential hazards by nanomaterials. The results represented that large perception gab between public and experts has existed in Korea. Interestingly, Korean public thought that nanotechnology is more profitable and less risky than that of American. We suggest that 'now is the best time to give appropriate information on the potential risk of nanotechnology to Korean public without preconception or exaggeration.'

Purpose As Korean economy has been sluggish in recent years, firms' interest in publicly financed projects has increased due to the relatively increasing proportion in the economy. Since 1999, publicly financed projects in Korea need to undergo preliminary feasibility study to evaluate economic efficiency and policy quality if they are larger than a certain scale. The benefits of public projects are one of the most important factors in the preliminary feasibility study but are difficult to estimate due to their nature. Design/methodology/approach This study estimates the benefits of the agricultural soil information database, a public database in Korea. The method used in the study is the stated preference method which is formally used in Korea's preliminary feasibility study. Data are collected through surveys and a logit model is constructed to be estimated by the maximum likelihood estimation method. Findings As the first study evaluating a public database, this study can be used as a baseline in all public database projects developed in the future. In addition, this study can contribute to improving the understanding of both private companies and public organizations who are interested in the cost-benefit analysis and estimation procedure for the publicly financed projects.

This study analyzes the perception of public value created by Korea Rural Community Corporation, a representative public corporation in the agricultural and rural sector. We categorize agricultural and rural public values as 'stable food supply,' 'conservation of national environment and nature,' 'formation and cultivation of water resources,' 'prevention of soil loss and flooding,' 'conservation of ecological system,' 'conservation of rural tradition and culture.' For the qualitative analysis, we apply content analysis. And, for the quantitative analysis, we use topic modeling and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) analysis which is used widely in the field of text-mining. Results show that internal perception for value suppliers are mainly created for 'stable food supply,' 'formation and cultivation of water resources,' and 'conservation of rural tradition and culture.' External perception for value demanders are created for all public values, but its evaluation and demand include various aspects including both positive and negative opinions.

Power generation construction projects involving large amounts of capital can affect the survival of a company along with huge economic losses in the event of a business failure. In general, private companies are organizations with challenging risk taking tendencies while public companies have a risk averse tendency to avoid risk, so these differences in organizational tendencies make it difficult to respond to risk. In particular, public companies are more likely to fail than private companies because they choose the contradiction of risk picking to enter overseas markets with high uncertainty despite their tendency to risk averse due to the nature of the organization. Therefore, these organizations need risk management techniques that reflect a risk-averse strategy. Accordingly, this paper analyzes the risk management research papers of the existing overseas development EPC business in order to find the risk management techniques related to the organizational tendencies of public companies and proposes "establishing a performance audit system for risk management of the organizational tendencies of public companies" as a way to extract the risk factors through the examples of overseas development projects of public companies and to manage the organizational tendencies of public companies that affect them.

From 1860s to 1910s, Rayleigh's efforts to reveal the nature and various features of sound continued to achieve good success in theory and experiment. Although his concern with acoustics primarily originated from intellectual curiosity, he did not ignore its practicality. His efforts were made to develop public lectures with demonstration experiments during his professorship at the Royal Institution of Great Britain. Acoustics covered the second-most frequent subject in his public lectures and his acoustical experiments were designed for satisfying the needs of the audience by employing ingenious strategies.

이성에 입각한 합리적이고 비판적인 토론의 중요성을 강조한 하버마스의 공론장론은 숙의민주주의라는 민주주의의 새로운 이념형을 제시하면서 근대를 복원했다는 찬사를 받았다. 그러나 이후 공론장론은 많은 비판을 받았고, 이에 대응해 반비판도 제기되면서 공론장론의 지평은 확대되어 왔다. 특히 공론장이 정치를 공적, 제도적 담론에 치우치게 함으로써 우리의 일상에서 큰 비중을 차지하는 사적, 감성적 측면을 배제하는 데 기여했다는 인식이 커지면서 공론장론에 대한 논의는 더욱 활발히 이루어졌는데, 감성적 공론장, 미학적 공론장, 표현적 공론장 등은 이러한 인식을 반영한 개념들이다. 이 글은 지금까지 이루어진 이러한 공론장 논의를 분석적으로 해부하고 향후 이론적 발전을 위해 유형화를 시도했다. 이 글에서는 공/사적, 이성적/감성적 두 개의 기준을 사용해 기존의 공론장을 '정치적 공론장', '대중주의', '차이다원주의', '친밀/프라이버시' 등의 네 유형으로 나누고 각 유형의 특징과 의의 및 한계에 대해 논의했다. 그리고 이들 서로 다른 유형의 공론장을 매개하고 조정하는 메타공론장 영역으로 미디어커뮤니케이션을 설정하고 그 가능성 및 함의를 제시했다.

This study is a consideration of Xu Xiao-Bin(徐小斌)'s Sounds of nature(天?) in the mutual text point of view of Lee Cheong-jun's Sopyonje series. Xu Xiao-Bin's Sounds of nature shows similar motive to Lee Cheong-jun's Sopyonje series that is a story of a mother who damages her daughter's eyes and the daughter. however, it is accepted in totally different ways that the action of father/mother who damage their daughter's eyes. the mother in Sounds of nature is a composer as well as singer and the father in Sopyonje is a singer. The mother's behavior is not able to have duty in Sounds of nature due to it is focused in 'mother's action' rather than a singer but the father's behavior is focused in 'singer's action' in Sopyonje. therefore the action of the father, who is a singer, is considered not merely personal desire of father but also desire to preserve 'singing' as a national culture in public status. the length between two novels are clear in the two daughter's point of views. the daughter in "Sounds of nature" refuses her destiny made from her mother. The daughter's behavior of recovering her own volition, becomes frankly showing the falsehood of 'mother's love. In comparison, the daughter's voice is under the shade in Sopyonje. she surrenders herself to the fate made by her father, and she does not show her desire. This is the point that the difference is created by gender of writers.

이 연구는 과학교육에서 논의의 본성(the Nature of Argumentation in Science education, NAS)을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 현재까지 국내·외 과학교육 분야에서 논의를 주제로 수행된 선행연구들을 수집한 후 이를 고찰하여 과학교육에서 논의의 특징을 추출하였다. 이후 전문가 검토를 실시하여 과학교육에서 논의의 본성을 '증거 기반', '언어적 상호작용', '맥락 의존성', '공적 의사결정', '잠정적 합의', '방법론적 다양성' 및 '과학 문화의 내면화'의 총 7가지 측면에서 제안하였다. 과학교육에서 논의의 본성에 대한 이해는 과학 학습에서 논의의 실천을 증진시킬 수 있다. 따라서 추후 연구에서는 과학 학습에서 논의의 효과적인 실천을 위하여 과학교육에서 논의의 본성을 확장하고 정교화하기 위한 연구가 이루어질 필요가 있을 것이다.

This study aimed at creation of bench design to be placed in the public spaces for the citizen who live in Jungnang-Gu. In Jungnang-Gu surrounded by the excellent natural environment like Jungnang-stream, Mangwoo Mt., Bongwha Mt. and Youngma Mt., there are many public places where a citizen can take a rest. Among the public facilities being in such public places however, the benches especially were installed so unplanned and disordered, even that they look unbalanced with the natural environment, though they need to play a meaningful role in park and walking paths. Hereupon this study intends to investigate the geographical environment in Jungnang-Gu and furthermore to develop the bench-design on the basis of the investigation. The concept of design lies in modern style of a bench matched up with the nature well and also taking the functional aspect for rest, in consideration of the public places utilized by the abundant natural greens. The environment-friendly timber, marble and metal were used here and the design with and without the back of a bench & the dimension for Korean people's figure were considered.

완전 공영제의 전단계로 준공영제로의 과도기로서 지역별 사례들도 연구과제로 극히 제한적이지만 일부 발표되고 있다. 그러나 이에 대한 보완방법으로 전자정보 통신시스템에 의한 도덕적인 해이를 제도로서 최소화 할 수 있어 본 논문에서는 전자정보 체제의 접목의 방법과 준 공영제 도입에 따른 안전에 초점을 맞추고 여수지역을 구체적인 사례로 논지를 전개 해 나갔다. 사회적인 자산의 공공적인 관리로서 버스의 안전운영에 대한 문제점들도 개선들도 부분 언급하였다. 대중교통수단으로서 버스가 조세로서 지원을 통해 운영됨으로써 공익적인 감시체계를 통하여 지역주민들의 사고로부터 보호라는 안전망의 확보들도 크게 요청되고 있는 실정이다. 준공영제의 경영형식을 통한 현장에서의 성공적인 모형으로 창출을 위한 제안도 덧붙였다.
