A Study on the Relocation of the National Registered Cultural Heritage in Redevelopment Project (재개발사업 부지 내 등록문화재 이전복원을 위한 개선방안 고찰 - 대전 대흥동 일·양 절충식 가옥 이전사례를 중심으로)

  • The National Registered Cultural Heritage no. 377, 'The Eclectic-style House in Daeheung-dong, Daejeon', was relocated in 2013, even though it was privately owned. The relocation of National Registered Cultural Heritage through an urban redevelopment project is rare because the restriction of the preservation of a cultural asset is relatively tolerated. For the sake of profit in a redevelopment project, a privately owned Registered Cultural Heritage is likely to be demolished with no laws to prevent it. This study researched the history of the heritage and the procedure of the relocation process. Based on the research, the study intends to clarify the relationship between the economic and legislative conditions with the result of the National Registered Cultural Heritage relocation in general. The failure of the successful relocation of the National Registered Cultural Heritage in redevelopment projects is caused mainly by a change of ownership, which is generally from personal to anonymous associations. Based on the condition, this study maintained the Cultural Heritage's redefinition as a public asset and proposed phased amendments in each major procedure of a redevelopment project for the successful preservation and reuse of National Registered Cultural Heritage.

Caregiver or Family Doses due to Discharged $^{131}I$ Administrated Patient from the Hospital (고용량 $^{131}I$ 투여환자 퇴원이후 환자 간병인과 환자 가옥의 피폭선량 측정)

  • Exposed doses to the patient's caregiver and their house due to the 131I from patients discharged from the hospital were measured using OSL dosimeters. Usually, 3.37-5.55 GBq (100-150 mCi) of $^{131}I$ administrated patients are discharged from the hospital after 3 or 4 days of hospitalization in Korea. In addition, after 5 to 8 days, the accumulated doses of the patient's caregiver and house after hospitalization of the patient were measured using OSL dosimeters. The results of the measured average accumulated doses were 0.1 mSv, which is 10% of 1 mSv, the public dose limit in the Korean Atomic Energy Law. And it's standard deviation was 0.087 mSv. Based on the results of this study, we anticipate that we could assure the compliance of the regulation requirement 5 mSv of MEST (Ministry of Education, Science and Technology) Notice No. 2008-45 for the patient's caregiver or family, even if we reduce the 3-4 days of hospitalization to 1-2 days or less.

The Scale of Households in Negative Housing Equity and Policy Direction (하우스푸어 규모 추정 및 정책 방향에 대한 고찰)

  • After global financial crisis, the ratio of household debt to GDP was decreasing in other advanced countries such as the U.S., and the U.K. and so on. But, in Korea, household debt (of which residential mortgage loan account for a large part) ratio is still increasing. This paper focuses on the scale and characteristics of households in negative housing equity (those are called House-poors in Korea), and also the socio-economic backgrounds of the formation process. In financial perspective, the problem of negative housing equity depends on financial debt repayment capability. We used DSR (Debt Service Ratio) and LTA (Loan to Asset ratio) as financial indicators to evaluate the debt repayment capability. The critical value of DSR is assumed as 40%, and LTA 100%. The socio-economic backgrounds of the House-poors are as follows : increasing households debt dependency, over lending competition of financial institutions and unreasonable loan in household economy, instability of real estate market, week regulation on mortgage loan. Finally, this paper suggests some implications about the range and the target of public intervention.

Exposure and Risk Assessment of Benzene and PM10 for Sub-populations using Monte-Carlo Simulations (Monte-Carlo 모의실험을 통한 부분 인구집단별 벤젠 및 PM10의 노출 및 위해성 평가)

  • Objectives: The Korea Ministry of Environment regulates concentrations of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) through Atmosphere Environmental Standards to protect public health from HAPs. However, simply determining the exceedance of HAP concentrations has several limitations and more comprehensive assessment is required. In addition, integrated risk assessment is needed considering exposure in all microenvironments, including outdoor as well as indoor environments. The purpose of this study was to assess the differences in risk by sub-population groups according to time-activity patterns and reported concentrations, as well as the lifetime risk for Koreans. Methods: In this study, we calculated time-weighted average exposure concentrations for benzene and $PM_{10}$ among preschool-age children, students, housewifes, workers, and the elderly using residential time and concentrations for indoor (house, school or workplace, other), outdoor, and transport by the meta-analysis method. The risk assessments were conducted by excess cancer risk and disease death risk using 1,000,000 Monte-Carlo simulations for probabilistic analysis. Results: Preschool-age children, students, housewifes, workers, and the elderly spent 91.9, 86.0, 79.8, 82.2, and 77.3% of their day in their house, workplace, or school, respectively. The more than 99% excess cancer risk for benzene exceed 1.0E-06 in all sub-populations and lifetime. The acute disease death risk for $PM_{10}$ for housewifes and workers for lifetime were 3.35E-04 and 3.18E-04, and chronic disease death risks were 2.84E-03 and 2.70E-03, respectively. Conclusions: The risk of benzene and $PM_{10}$ by sub-population group and for the lifetime of housewifes and workers were assessed. Benzene showed risky results for this study. All disease death risks of $PM_{10}$ were higher than 1.0E-04 and showed different risks by sub-population. This study can be used as a basis for lifetime exposure and risk assessment to benzene and $PM_{10}$.

An Identification of Determinants to Ambivalent Purchase Intention of Fashion Luxury Brand Expanded Cosmetic for MZ Generation (패션 명품 확장 브랜드의 코스메틱에 대한 MZ세대의 양면적 소비 의도에 미치는 영향 변인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify antecedent factors influencing the two-sided consumption intention tendencies observed in MZ generation from the viewpoint of consumption value in the cosmetic consumption scene of fashion houses. In order to verify the research model and hypotheses proposed in this study at the level of statistical significance. a survey was conducted for MZ generation, and data collected from a total of 286 samples were analyzed through a structural equation model. As a result. emotional and social consumption value was identified as a variable that had a great influence on the consumption intention of MZ generation. First, self-esteem had an effect on the emotion consumption value at the statistical significance level. Second, materialism had a significant influence on emotional and social consumption values. Third, public self-consciousness was found to have an effect on social consumption value. That is, MZ generation pursues the beauty trend presented by the fashion house's beauty brand and perceives it as a high consumption value. In addition, it was confirmed that MZ generation exhibited a conspicuous consumption tendency that they could be socially differentiated by using fashion house cosmetics.

Drug Abuse Status and Its Determinants of Male High School Students in Taegu (대구시(大邱市) 일부(一部) 남자고등학생(男子高等學生)의 약물남용(藥物濫用) 실태(實態)와 관련요인(關聯要因))

  • To identify the drug abuse status and its determinant factors in high school boys in Taegu, the study was performed from April to May, 1995. Study population were selected by cluster sampling method and total 5,665 students replied to the self-administered questionnaire survey (2,207 in academic high school, 3,458 in business high school). The major findings were as follows; The proportion of drinking, smoking experience was 55.0%, 45.8%, respectively, and the proportion of current drinker, current smoker was 27.2%, 27.5%. The drinking, smoking experience rate of second grade students was higher than first grade and it was higher in business high school boys. The proportion of a stimulant, a hallucinogen, hemp leaf cigarets experience was 3.2%, 1.6%, 0.1%, respectively. Drug abuse had significant association with home environment(lower economic status, frequent move, death of father or mother, apart from family), parents environment(parents' indifference, parents' drinking and smoking, etc.), school life(lower school grades, intimate friend's drug abuse, etc.), generous attitude to drug abuse, higher level of stress. Students who replied that the law prohibited immature person(students) from drinking and smoking showed lower drug abuse rate. In multiple logistic regression analysis, second grade students, business high school students, parents' indifference, lower school grades, intimate friend's drug abuse, no recognition of the fact that the law prohibits high school students from drinking and smoking, generous attitude to drug abuse, higher level of stress were significantly related with alcohol abuse and smoking. Other drugs abuse were related with above factors. On consideration of above findings, to prevent students from drug abuse, we have to try together in house, school, and society.

Medical Care Expenditure of Residents in Urban Poor Area (도시 영세지역의 가계 의료비지출)

  • This study was carried out to assess medical care expenditure of residents in urban poor area. The study population included 377 family members of 85 households in the poor area of Daemyung 8-Dong, Nam-Gu, Taegu and 442 family members of 96 households in a control area. The data was collected through self-administered questionnaires completed by housewives. The survey was conducted from March 1 to May 31, 1992. The mean age was 31.1 years in the poor area and 37.1 years in the control area. The average number of households per house was 4.5 in the poor area and 4.5 in the control area. The frequency of medical care utilization per household in a one month period was 4.6 in the poor area and 4.3 in the control area. The average number of days of utilization was 12.9 in the poor area and 12.5 in the control area. The average monthly income of a househlod in the poor area was 848,600 Won compared to the control area's 1,752,300 Won. The average monthly consumption expenditure of a household in the poor area was 568,800 Won and that in the control area 1,238,400 Won. The average medical care monthly expenditure per household was 34,500 Won in the poor area and 58,400 Won in the control area. The proportion of the medical care expenditure to monthly income and to monthly consumption expenditure was 4.1% and 6.1% respectively in the poor area, and 3.3% and 4.7%, respectively in the control area. The premium of medical insurance was 1.5% in both areas. The proportion of cost for drug was 57.4%, for medical appliance was 1.2%, and for medical treatment was 41.1% in the poor area and in the control area 52.4%, 1.9%, 45.7%, respectively. The highest proportion of medical care expenditures in the poor area was herb clinic utilization (36.9%), while hospital and clinic(37.8%) was the highest proportion in the control area. Mean medical care expenditure per visit was 7,400 Won in the poor area and 12,600 Won in the control area. Mean medical care expinditure per day was 2.800 Won in the poor area and 6,300 Won in the control area.

The comparative analysis on the distribution of cancers (암환자 분포의 비교 분석)

  • This paper is based on the records of researching the patients with cancer in the Chunnam National University Hospital from January 1990 to December 1999 and referred to the Korea Cancer Center Hospital's annual report. The results are as the following : 1. Along the total O.P.D 5,680,284, the patients of therapeutic radiology are 201,367 in $3.55\%$ 2. Among the 12,404 cancer patients, stomach cancer patients are $2,048(16.51\%),\;liver\;cancer\;patients\;are\;1,490(12.01\%),\;lung\;cancer\;patients\;are\;1,418(11.43\%)\;cervix\;and\;uterus\;cancer\;patients\;are\;1,102(8.88\%)$ and sexual ratio of male to female appeared 1.38 : 1 Therefore, male cancer patients are more than female patients. 3. The age distribution of cancer was $2,791(22.50\%)\;by\;55{\sim}64\;age,\;2,582(20.82\%)\;by\;45{\sim}54\;age,\;and\;2,530(20.40\%)\;by\;65{\sim}74\;age.\;Therefore,\;the\;60\%\;of\;all\;cancer\;patients\;were\;45{\sim}75$ ages. 4. Among the 9,815 therapeutic radiology patients, $1,755(17.89\%)\;are\;in\;the\;uterus\;system,\;1,534(15.63\%)\;are\;in\;the\;head\;and\;neck,\;1,519(15.48\%)$ are in the lung. Therefore, the proportion of three kinds of therapeutic radiology patients is about $50\%$. 5. The occupational distributions of 12,404 cancer patients$(90{\sim}99\;year)\;are\;2,795(22.53\%)\;by\;orderly\;farmers,\;2,763(22.28\%)\;by\;house\;wives,\;586(4.71\%)\;by\;businessmen,\;and\;391(3.15\%)$ by public service personnel. Industrial, miners, forest men, soldiers didn't nearly appear. 6. The number of patients of cancer diagnosis was $9,431(76.03\%)\;by\;the\;biopsy\;of\;primary\;region,\;and\;2,201(17.74\%)$ by clinical examination Therefore, those two kinds of methods took a propertion of about $94\%.\;The\;number\;of\;deceases\;on\;departments\;was\;153(32.42\%)\;in\;PD,\;133(28.18\%)\;in\;GI,\;63(13.35\%)$ in GS. Therefore, those three kinds of deceases took a proportion of about $74\%$.

A study on the Spatial Arrangement and Area of Senior Sharehouses in Japan (일본의 시니어 쉐어하우스 공간배치 및 면적 연구)

  • Single household is expected to be the typical form of future Korean elderly household from reduction of household size and rapid growth of the elderly. As Japanese solve the same problem with Senior Sharehouse, a case study on Senior Sharehouse in japan focused on the Spatial Arrangement and Spatial Composition could suggest an potential applications in Korea. In conclusion, compare to Korea, the Senior Sharehouse in Japan supplies additional $7.5{\sim}9.3m^2$ more space to support the physical movement of the elderly and to help the elderly to solve various functions at one space. The independence and privacy of residents are also assured by supplying single occupancy. Space analysis shows that public space is as spacious (47.3~55%) as personal space. The result of the Space analysis suggests that the sharehouse provides rational ratio of space to assure residents' independence. It was supposed that the center type would be the main stream of the Spatial Arrangement for sharehouse considering its characteristic of sharing space. But, the Senior Sharehouse in Japan prefers corner type. The guarantee of personal space is being considered as a important characteristic. As a result of case analysis, Senior Sharehouse can be a proper type of house for single elderly household and present study can be used for the baseline data to solve the residence problem for single elderly household in Korea.

A Study on the Procedure Model to Carry on Works of the Private Security Company (민간경비업체의 업무 수행 절차 및 모델 설정에 관한 연구)

  • In Korea, Private security companies has steadily grown and amounts to 2,051 places as of November 30, 2002. Private security in korea is carrying out firm name role assignment to have held the police and public peace environment change factors for a standard faithfully, and protects social a little property that is a basic purpose, and it is spare no efforts in loss prevention. In spite of numeral increase of private security companies, private security companies have many problem. Moreover, they mostly did not have any remarkable in-house expertises in their own business under tough conditions. Under the unfavorable circumstances including insufficient investment and education in private security guard, there have been actually little further studies on private security business in practices. So this study mainly focused on addressing the installation security business managed by authorized companies, which amount to 96%(1,963 companies) of total 2,051 domestic security companies. Furthermore, the study formulated and modeled a series of business procedures in private security companies.
