Differences in Resources of Natural Recreation Forest Developed by Public and Private Body (공공 휴양림과 민간 휴양림의 유양자원의 차이)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate in resources of natural recreation forest(RNRF) developed both publicly and privately in order to answer the research question: what are the differences in RNRF development between public and private developers. After reviewing the literature, the developer´s decision-making and motivation of investment, and the planning process of natural recreation forest, We constructed the conceptual framework and have formulated the hypothesis of this research. We had obtained data through a questionnaire, which surveyed of 625 visitors at 9 of the 72 natural recreation forests in Korea in 1999, We have analyzed the data using the mean difference test and logistic regression method. We found that 1) the overall quality of resource elements in RNRF has been development excellent except for the sociocultural element of recreational resources, and public recreation forest have been of higher quality than that fo private development, 20 in bivariate analysis, all the variables on quality of RNRF by public developers have turned out to be better than those of private ones, 3) in multivariate analysis, such variable as valley and water, forest and wildness area, wild life, and landscape have been statistically significant at one percent level, 4) the higher the value of valley and water, the higher the probability of public development, while the higher the value of other variables excluding water and valley, the more likelihood the recreational forest is developed by a private developer, and 5) forest and wildness area has been turned out to be the most important independent variable in contributing to the value of dependent variable. The research results suggest that 1) the differences in the quality of resource elements in RNRF developed by public and private body be considered in the planning and design process in order to develop diverse activities to make use of the resource potential, and 2) considering the resource characteristics of private natural recreation forest and the motivation of private developers, private natural recreation forest will possibly be more dynamic and dynamic attractive areas. It is recommended that the difference in the degree of visitor´s satisfaction between public and private development be examined.

Secure Data Sharing in The Cloud Through Enhanced RSA

  • Cloud computing today provides huge computational resources, storage capacity, and many kinds of data services. Data sharing in the cloud is the practice of exchanging files between various users via cloud technology. The main difficulty with file sharing in the public cloud is maintaining privacy and integrity through data encryption. To address this issue, this paper proposes an Enhanced RSA encryption schema (ERSA) for data sharing in the public cloud that protects privacy and strengthens data integrity. The data owners store their files in the cloud after encrypting the data using the ERSA which combines the RSA algorithm, XOR operation, and SHA-512. This approach can preserve the confidentiality and integrity of a file in any cloud system while data owners are authorized with their unique identities for data access. Furthermore, analysis and experimental results are presented to verify the efficiency and security of the proposed schema.

A Methodology for Analyzing Public Opinion about Science and Technology Issues Using Text Analysis (텍스트 분석을 활용한 과학기술이슈 여론 분석 방법론)

  • Recently, many users frequently share their opinions on diverse issues using various social media. Therefore, many governments have attempted to establish or improve national policies according to the public opinions captured from the various social media. In this paper, we indicate several limitations of traditional approaches for analyzing public opinions about science and technology and provide an alternative methodology to overcome the limitations. First of all, we distinguish science and technology analysis phase and social issue analysis phase to reflect the fact that public opinion can be formed only when a certain science and technology is applied to a specific social issue. Next, we apply a start list and a stop list successively to acquire clarified and interesting results. Finally, to identify most appropriate documents fitting to a given subject, we develop a new concept of logical filter that consists of not only mere keywords but also a logical relationship among keywords. This study then analyzes the possibilities for the practical use of the proposed methodology thorough its application to discovering core issues and public opinions from 1,700,886 documents comprising SNS, blog, news, and discussion.

An Approach of Cost-Benefit Analysis for GIS Project Evaluations (지리정보 사업의 비용편익 분석의 고찰)

  • This study begins with emphasis on the approach to public policy development and the extent to which a GIS framework can be used to evaluate projects objectively. This paper relates to public policy making and the use of GIS as a strategic management tool rather than the development of GIS technologies which has been the focus of attention since the advent of the first generation GIS systems in the 1960s. In order to consolidate a view towards public policy, the aim of this study is to show the advantages of using GIS to generate results which could be evaluated by cost and benefit analysis giving options of the alternative methods to estimate the feasibility of projects (both tangible and intangible) in a real public policy scenario. This study also reports that the tangible benefits associated with the GIS projects are better information processing, the easy analysis of data and the cost savings of map updates and printing, whilst the intangible benefits include quality decision making, and precise management of data through computing networks. In GIS context, the task of analysing and evaluating GIS projects is assumed in order to facilitate scientific and quantitative cost-benefit analysis. Previous methods of the cost-benefit analysis has not fully supported the evaluation of the intangible benefits and it has not been possible to make public policy realistic or scientifically understandable limiting decision makers in public domain. With the GIS decision makers are able to explore the potential of projects with this powerful decision supporting tool in practical application. On the basis of its potentials and limitations to cost-benefit analysis, therefore, it can be concluded that more flexible analysis and evaluation methodologies are needed to extend into the intangible benefits. In order to balance the evaluation of both quantitative and qualitative approaches on the cost-benefit analysis new or additional utilities will be required for the next GIS generation appraisal tool.

Structural Characterization of Public Transportation Networks based on QAP Correlation (QAP상관분석을 통한 대중교통 네트워크의 구조적 특성 규명)

  • Public transportation systems play key roles in supporting dynamic activities and interaction between urban places. Especially, high efficient public transportation systems are required in order to support large traffic demands in urban areas. In this paper, we define a new metric, structural activation level (SAL), to replace the conventional transportation share ratio (TSR) measuring efficiency of public transportation systems. First of all, we access the Korea Transport Database (KTDB) and download origin-destination data by transport types to construct traffic networks with respect to transport types for each city. Then, we calculate the QAP (Quadratic Assignment Procedure) correlation between each traffic network and the total traffic network for each city to investigate SAL by comparing cities one another. The results of our investigation reveal inconsistency between TSR and SAL. In Daegu, TSR of public transportation systems is relatively low while SAL is high. In Deajeon, however, SAL is low while TSR is high. Therefore, we suggest to take into consideration SAL as well as TSR in order to investigate the degree of activation of public transportation.

Influencing Factors on Life Satisfaction after Retirement: A Comparison of Public Pension versus Specific Corporate Pension Recipients (국민연금과 특수직역연금 수급 대상자들의 은퇴 후 생활만족 영향 요인)

  • Objectives : This study compared the influencing factors on life satisfaction after retirement between public pension and specific corporate pension recipients. Methods : This study used the fifth year data of 2013 from the raw data of the Korean Retirement and Income Study collected by the National Pension Research Institute. The data analysis in this study was done with the chi-square test, t-test, and linear regression using SPSS ver. 22.0 to verify the relevance between the general characteristics of pension recipients. Results : This study shows that there was a difference in expenditures and health care costs between public pension and special corporate pension recipients. The influencing factors on life satisfaction for public pension recipients were the level of spending, whether there were limitations in daily life and social activity, whether recipients had financial assets and health care costs while for specific corporate pension recipients, they were education level, level of spending and chronic diseases. Conclusions : A health policy that maximizes life satisfaction and takes into account the type of pencion needs to be considered and implemented.

Family Characteristics and Self-care Ability in Visiting Nursing Service based on Urban Public Health Center (일 도시지역 방문간호 대상 가족의 문제유형 및 자가관리능력)

  • Purpose: The study aim was to provide basic data needed for formulating systematic visiting nursing strategies by comprehending the characteristics and self-care ability of the object families of public health centers in Korea. Method: The research examined 252 families and 339 family members of the vulnerable class that were registered in a visiting nursing program of an urban public health center. The data of 220 families were analyzed using descriptive analysis, t-test, and ANOVA, after excluding any incomplete data. Result: 1. The most frequent characteristics of families were solitary families (52.8%) and financially vulnerable families (87.3%). The most frequent way of family detection was request of the community office. 2. The most frequent type of family problems were vulnerable families (93.2%), followed by patient families (91.0%). 3. The mean score was 11.67 for family self-care ability. 4. The variables of the number of family members, disease type of the patient family members, and the type of vulnerable family showed a significant difference of family self-care ability. Conclusion: This study suggests that vulnerable families demand specific nursing interventions focused on their own problems and that visiting nurses need to obtain and use supportive resources.

  • Recently, analysis techniques to extract new meanings using big data analysis and various services using these analysis techniques have been developed. Among them, the transport is one of the most important areas that can be utilized about big data. However, the existing traffic route guidance system can not recommend the optimal traffic route because they use only the traffic information when the user search the route. In this paper, we propose a realtime optimal traffic route guidance system using big data analysis. The proposed system considers the realtime traffic information and results of big data analysis using historical traffic data. And, the proposed system show the warning message to the user when the user need to change the traffic route.

A Trend Analysis of Floral Products and Services Using Big Data of Social Networking Services

  • This study was carried out to analyze trends in floral products and services through the big data analysis of various social networking services (SNSs) and then to provide objective marketing directions for the floricultural industry. To analyze the big data of SNSs, we used four analytical methods: Cotton Trend (Social Matrix), Naver Big Data Lab, Instagram Big Data Analysis, and YouTube Big Data Analysis. The results of the big data analysis showed that SNS users paid positive attention to flower one-day classes that can satisfy their needs for direct experiences. Consumers of floral products and services had their favorite designs in mind and purchased floral products very actively. The demand for flower items such as bouquets, wreaths, flower baskets, large bouquets, orchids, flower boxes, wedding bouquets, and potted plants was very high, and cut flowers such as roses, tulips, and freesia were most popular as of June 1, 2019. By gender of consumers, females (68%) purchased more flower products through SNSs than males (32%). Consumers preferred mobile devices (90%) for online access compared to personal computers (PCs; 10%) and frequently searched flower-related words from February to May for the past three years from 2016 to 2018. In the aspect of design, they preferred natural style to formal style. In conclusion, future marketing activities in the floricultural industry need to be focused on social networks based on the results of big data analysis of popular SNSs. Florists need to provide consumers with the floricultural products and services that meet the trends and to blend them with their own sensitivity. It is also needed to select SNS media suitable for each gender and age group and to apply effective marketing methods to each target.

A Study on the GIS Analysis Techniques for Finding an Catchment Area by Public Transport at Railway Stations Using Transport Cards Big Data (교통카드 빅 데이터를 활용한 철도역의 대중교통 연계영향권 설정을 위한 GIS 분석 기법 연구)

  • Currently, there are 499 metropolitan subway stations in Korea, but there are not many studies on the influence zone of linkage between railway station and public transport. Existing studies have been studied almost in terms of accessibility.. In addition, the existing research on the influence zone of linkage using survey data and statistics, there is a limit to the theoretical basis and analysis techniques. In this paper, we propose a new method to select on the influence zone of linkage, It is a GIS analysis technique using the spatial data of the railway station user as the large data of the traffic card. We applied the GIS analysis technique for select the influence zone of linkage based on the travel time of the network for each public transportation system. As a result, it was confirmed that the influence of the link of 15 minutes on the local bus, 20 minutes on the city bus and 25 minutes on the intercity bus were clearly distinguished according to the difference in network access time.
