A zeolite sheet (ceramic paper containing zeolite) made in a cylindrical configuration can be applied to a honeycomb rotor for the effective VOC removal. In this study, the zeolite sheet containing ZSM-5 was used as a support for Pt-loading, and its catalytic activity for the toluene combustion reaction was compared with those of the other Pt catalysts loaded on ${\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ and cordierite honeycomb. Pt/zeolite sheet catalyst showed a higher activity for toluene combustion reaction than that of $Pt/{\gamma}-Al_2O_3$ or Pt/cordierite honeycomb. On the other hand, the dispersion of Pt particles loaded on the zeolite sheet was improved by the pretreatment with $NH_3-H_2O$ vapor at room temperature. Consequently, the pretreatment of Pt/zeolite sheet by $NH_3-H_2O$ vapor significantly enhanced the catalytic activation for toluene combustion reaction.
Zeolite HY is wet impregnated with Ni (0.1, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 wt%), Pt (0.1 wt%) and reduced in presence of hydrogen to form nanosized particles of Ni and Pt. All the catalysts were characterized by XRD, TEM, ESCA, NH3-TPD, Pyridine adsorbed FT-IR and BET. Characterization results confirm that the Ni and Pt fractions effectively rehabilitated the physio-chemical properties of the zeolite HY catalysts. Further, all the reduced catalyst were screened with hydroisomerization of m-xylene at LHSV = 2.0 h-1 in the temperature range 250-400 ℃ in steps of 50 ℃ in hydrogen atmosphere (20 ml/g). The addition of Ni to Pt catalyst increases hydroisomerization conversion, as well as maximizes p-xylene selectivity by restricting the pore size. The increasing trend in activity continues up to 0.3 wt% of Ni and 0.1 wt% Pt addition over zeolite HY. The increasing addition of Ni increases the total number of active metallic sites to exposed, which increases the metallic sites/acid sites ratio towards the optimum value for these reactions by better balance of synergic effect for stable activity. The rate of deactivation is pronounced on monometallic catalysts. The results confirm the threshold Ni addition is highly suitable for hydroisomerization reaction for product selectivity over Ni-Pt bimetallic/support catalysts.
Zeolite-templated carbons (ZTCs), which have high specific surface area, were prepared by a conventional templating method using microporous zeolite-Y for catalyst supports in direct methanol fuel cells. The ZTCs were synthesized at different temperatures to investigate the characteristics of the surface produced and their electrochemical properties. Thereafter, Pt-Ru was deposited at different carbonization temperatures by a chemical reduction method. The crystalline and structural features were investigated using X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The textural properties of the ZTCs were investigated by analyzing $N_2$/77 K adsorption isotherms using the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller equation, while the micro- and meso-pore size distributions were analyzed using the Barrett-Joyner-Halenda and Harvarth-Kawazoe methods, respectively. The surface morphology was characterized using transmission electron microscopy and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry. The electrochemical properties of the Pt-Ru/ZTCs catalysts were also analyzed by cyclic voltammetry measurements. From the results, the ZTCs carbonized at $900^{\circ}C$ show the highest specific surface areas. In addition, ZTC900-PR led to uniform dispersion of Pt-Ru on the ZTCs, which enhanced the electro-catalytic activity of the Pt-Ru catalysts. The particle size of ZTC900-PR catalyst is about 3.4 nm, also peak current density from the CV plot is $12.5mA/cm^2$. Therefore, electro-catalytic activity of the ZTC900-PR catalyst is higher than those of ZTC1000-PR catalyst.

Y-zeolite and ${\gamma}$-Al$_2$O$_3$ were used as supports on CO and $C_3$H$_{6}$ oxidation for diesel emission control. The catalysts composed of Pd and Pt as active components were wash coated on honeycomb type ceramic substrate. The oxidation of CO and $C_3$H$_{6}$ was carried out over prepared honeycomb in a fixed bed continuous reactor in the temperature range of 20$0^{\circ}C$~50$0^{\circ}C$ and 20,000 GHSV (h$^{-1}$ ). Surface area of Y-zeolite was larger than that of ${\gamma}$-Al$_2$O$_3$ due to channel structure of Y-zeolite. Therefore, high conversion of CO and $C_3$H$_{6}$ could be obtained because of good dispersion of active metals over Y-zeolite. The honeycomb used Y-zeolite as a support showed higher $C_3$H$_{6}$ conversion than that of ${\gamma}$-Al$_2$O$_3$ due to better cracking and isomerization activity of Y-zeolite. PdPt catalyst showed high conversion of CO and $C_3$H$_{6}$ at low temperature region, 20$0^{\circ}C$~30$0^{\circ}C$, for their synergy effects. PdPt/Y-Zeolite catalyst could achieve more than 80% conversion of $C_3$H$_{6}$ at 30$0^{\circ}C$. The use of Y-zeolite as a support increased CO and $C_3$H$_{6}$ conversion, and decreased SO$_2$ conversion very effectively. Y-zeolite found to have a good adaptability as a support for the diesel emission after treatment system.
Platinum catalysts supported on the mesoporous material synthesized from Y zeolite were applied to synthesis of jet-fuel through n-octadecane hydroupgrading. The mesoporous aluminosolicate, $MMZ_{HY}$ was synthesized using Y zeolite as its framework source. The effect of the addition of Mg to $Pt/MMZ_{HY}$ catalyst for n-octadecane hydroupgrading was investigated. Catalyst characterization was performed with X-ray diffraction, $N_2$ adsorption, temperature-programmed reduction in hydrogen flow, temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia, and infrared spectroscopy of adsorbed pyridine. The high yield of jet-fuel over the $PtMg(2.0)/MMZ_{HY}$ can be attributed not only to the higher dispersion of Pt metal and higher reducibility, but also the higher amount of acid sites and higher strength of acid sites. The selectivity to iso-paraffin in the jet-fuel fraction could be reached above 80% over the optimized $PtMg/MMZ_{HY}$ catalyst.
Recently, in order to meet the stricter emission regulations, the proportion of after-treatments for vehicle and vessel is increasing gradually. The purpose of this study is to investigate the de-$CH_4$ characteristics of NGOC in front of proposed combined system according to additive catalyst and support ratio. In the case of Pd addition, the de-$CH_4$ performance of 2Pt-2Pd-3MgO/$Al_2O_3$ NGOC was improved by approximately 10 to 20% for the HC components. The de-$CH_4$ performance of 2Pt-2Pd-3Cr-3MgO/$Al_2O_3$ NGOC was higher compared to five kinds of NGOC catalysts, because Cr particle was smaller and dispersion of Pd was increased. The NGOC(Zeolite:$Al_2O_3$(80%:20%)}catalyst according to support ratio, was improved performance at low temperature region on CO and NO conversion rate.

SCR(selective catalytic reduction) pilot plant for reduction of the nitrogen oxides using diesel oil as a reductant was installed at the NG(natural gas) fired combined cycle and the activity of Pt(0.3%)/Zeolite catalyst was studied in real flue gas condition according to the amount of reductant. reaction temperature and space velocity. NOx conversion gradually increased with increasing the diesel oil concentration up to C/N ratio 5.5(C/N ratio: the ratio of the number of carbon atom to the number of NOx molecules included in the flue gas). Increasing the reaction temperature. NOx conversion increased and reached a maximum conversion of 50% at $190^{\circ}C$. NOx conversion did not changed with increasing the space velocity up to 18,500/hr and then gradually decreased. These results reveal the potential for diesel oil as a reductant for de-NOx SCR process.

Recently, in order to meet the stricter emission regulations, the proportion of after-treatments for vehicles and vessels has been increasing gradually. The objective of this study is to investigate the improvement of $CH_4$ reduction ability of natural gas oxidation catalyst (NGOC), which reduces toxic gases emitted from CNG buses. Thirteen NGOCs were prepared, and the conversion performance of noxious gases according to the type of supports, the loading amount of noble metal, and surfactant and aging were determined. Support Zeolite supported on No. 3 $NGOC(1Pt-1Pd-3MgO-3CeO_2/(46TiO_2+23Al_2O_3+23Zeolite)$ is an anionic alkali metal/earth metal component that improved the oxidation reactivity between CO and NO and noble metal dispersion, and thus enhanced the $CH_4$ reduction ability. As the loading amount of Pd, a noble metal with a high selectivity to $CH_4$, was increased, the number of reaction sites was increased and the ability to reduce $CH_4$ was improved. No. 11 $NGOC(1Pt-1Pd-3MgO-3CeO_2/(Z20+Al80)$(pH=8.5), to which nitrate surfactant had been added, exhibited well dispersed catalyst particles with no agglomeration and improved the $CH_4$ reduction ability by 5-15%. The $NGOC(2Pt-2Pd-3Cr-3MgO/90Al_2O_3)$(48h aging), which was mildly thermal aged for 48h, increased the $CH_4$ reduction ability to about 10% or less as compared with No. 12 NGOC(Fresh).
Skeletal isomerization reaction known as exothermic reaction shows possible maximum yield of i-butene from n-butene at $110^{\circ}C$ over $Pt/MoO_3/SiO_2$. Compared with conventional catalyst such as silica, zeolite, alumina etc., $Pt/MoO_3/SiO_2$ demonstrates higher yield while by-products except 2-butene do not form. Faster H spillover rate over $Pt/MoO_3/SiO_2$ is demonstrated via isothermal reduction experiment at $110^{\circ}C$ compared to the rate over $Pt/MoO_3/Al_2O_3$. Overall isomerization rates are proportional to higher spillover rates from Pt onto $MoO_3$ surface. The skeletal isomerization reaction is composed of two elementary steps. First, carbonium ion formation over Pt crystallites by H spillover. Second, carbenium ion formation over $MoO_3$ followed by formation of i-butene. Moreover, it is suggested that H spillover step from Pt surface onto $MoO_3$ is assumed to be the rate determining step and control the overall isomerization rate.
