  • From 2000s, the development to improve space use of urban area has been requested because of unorganized urban development in 1960~70s. For this reason Urban Redevelopment projects have been changed to urban regeneration project based on the renewed law. Recent urban regeneration Projects are bigger and more complex than ever. These kinds of projects need good communication between projects stakeholders, however there are problems in processing project for the lack of standardized business process. The purpose of this study is to provide common business process of urban regeneration projects for stakeholders to improve understanding project business process through analyzing association way of urban regeneration project and modeling business process by BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation) method. And also it is expected to improve communication between stakeholders and to shorten project time through prompting project participation with the proposed business process.

  • Kjellmaniella crassifalia Miyabe is one of the valuable seaweed crops cultured in the Korean coastal waters of the East Sea. Unfortunately recent environmental changes have adversely influenced its growth, prompting the need to develop techniques for species restoration. To obtatin biological information, the growth of the species was monitored for one year. The maximum blade length, $110{\pm}45cm$, was attained in July, and zoospores were released in November. The optimum culture conditions allowing juvenile sporophytes to grow to young blades consisted of $20{\mu}mol/m^2s\;at\;10^{\circ}C$ under which the blade length grew to $1,732.5{\pm}143.3{\mu}m$ in 42 days. Sporangial sori started to form in September, reaching 85% maturity in November and 89% maturity in December. Examining the growth of the species according to depth, the individuals growing at 5 meters grew the most, reaching a blade length of $75.9{\pm}18.9cm$ in August.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the relationships among physical symptoms, activities of daily living, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in community-dwelling older adults. Methods: A stratified random sampling method was conducted to recruit participants from May 10 to August 17, 2007. Physical symptoms were measured using the Physical Health Questionnaire (PHQ), activities of daily living using the Late-Life Functional and Disability Instrument (LLFDI), and HRQoL using the Medical Outcomes Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) in 242 community-dwelling elderly Korean people. Results: The HRQoL correlates with the physical symptoms (r=-.31) and the function component (r=.59). Of the two disability parts of the LLFDI, the limitation dimension correlates higher (r=.57) with HRQoL than the frequency dimension (r=.42). The HRQoL is significantly associated with the function component, and disability limitation in capability which explained 44.4% of variance in physical health. Conclusion: These results may contribute to a better understanding of physical symptoms, activities of daily living, and HRQoL in community-dwelling older adults. Therefore, health programs for prompting older adult's health should be planned based on results of the study.

  • Primary anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) of the lung is highly aggressive and quite rare. We report here a case of anaplastic lymphoma kinase-positive endobronchial ALCL, that was initially thought to be primary lung cancer. A 68-year-old woman presented with hemoptysis, dyspnea, and upper respiratory symptoms persisting since 1 month. The hemoptysis and and bronchial obstruction lead to respiratory failure, prompting emergency radiotherapy and steroid treatment based on the probable diagnosis of lung cancer, although a biopsy did not confirm malignancy. Following treatment, her symptoms resolved completely. Chest computed tomography scan performed 8 months later showed increased and enlarged intra-abdominal lymph nodes, suggesting lymphoma. At that time, a lymph node biopsy was recommended, but the patient refused and was lost to follow up. Sixteen months later, the patient revisited the emergency department, complaining of persistent abdominal pain since several months. A laparoscopic intra-abdominal lymph node biopsy confirmed a diagnosis of ALCL.

  • In this paper, we investigate intellectual reaction differences among market participants to various corporate information announcements and the main information prompting investors to trade. Our research is based on IPO companies listed on the KOSDAQ exchange from January 2000 to September 2012 and concentrates on three information disclosures - bonus issue, seasoned equity offer, and new investment in facilities announcements. We find that intellectual market participants react positively to bonus issues and seasoned equity offers, but negatively to new investment announcements. Market trading volume increases before the positive events and all cgroups actively buy shares during these periods. For the negative events, only institution participants show active selling. Overall, institutions act as momentum traders, and individuals and foreigners as contrarian traders. We also discuss the implications of this study.

  • The greater demand for electricity and the available capacity within safety margins in some operating NPPs are prompting nuclear utilities to request license modification to enable operation at a higher power level, beyond their original license provisions. Such plant modifications require an in-depth safety analysis to evaluate the possible safety impact. The analysis must consider the thermo hydraulic, radiological and structural aspects, and the plant behavior, while taking into account the capability of the structures, systems and components, and the reactor protection and safeguard systems set points. The purpose of this paper is to introduce international experiences and approaches for implementation of power uprates related to the reactor thermal power of nuclear power plants. The paper is intended to give the reader a general overview of the major processes, work products, issues, challenges, events, and experiences in the power uprates program. The process of increasing the licensed power level of a nuclear power plants is called a power uprate. One way of increasing the thermal output from a reactor is to increase the amount of fissile material in use. It is also possible to increase the core power by increasing the performance of the high power bundles. Safety margins can be maintained by either using fuels with a higher performance, or through the use of improved methods of analysis to demonstrate that the required margins are retained even at the higher power levels. The paper will review all types of power uprates, from small to large, and across various reactor types, including light and heavy water, pressurized, and boiling water reactors. Generally, however, the content of the report focuses on power uprates of the stretch and extended type. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is developing a technical guideline on power uprates and side effects of power uprates in nuclear power plants.

  • Spot blotch caused by Bipolaris sorokiniana has spread to more than 9 million ha of wheat in the warm, humid areas of the Eastern Gangetic Plains (EGP) of South Asia and is a disease of major concern in other similar wheat growing regions worldwide. Differential lignin content in resistant and susceptible genotypes and its association with free radicals such as hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$), superoxide ($O_2{^-}$) and hydroxyl radical ($OH^-$) were studied after inoculation under field conditions for two consecutive years. $H_2O_2$ significantly influenced lignin content in flag leaves, whereas there was a negative correlation among lignin and $H_2O_2$ to the Area Under Disease Progress Curve (AUDPC). The production of $H_2O_2$ was higher in the resistant genotypes than susceptible ones. The $O_2{^-}$ and $OH^-$ positively correlated with AUDPC but negatively with lignin content. This study illustrates that $H_2O_2$ has a vital role in prompting lignification and thereby resistance to spot blotch in wheat. We used cluster analysis to separate the resistant and susceptible genotypes by phenotypic and biochemical traits. $H_2O_2$ associated lignin production significantly reduced the number of appressoria and penetration pegs. We visualized the effect of lignin in disease resistance using differential histochemical staining of tissue from resistant and susceptible genotypes, which shows the variable accumulation of hydrogen peroxide and lignin around penetration sites.

  • Emergence of the COVID 19 pandemic has resulted in a sharp increase in the number of two-wheeler vehicular traffic accidents, prompting the introduction of numerous efforts for their prevention. This study applied XGBoost to determine the factors that affect severity of two-wheeled vehicular traffic accidents, by examining data collected over the past 10 years and analyzing the influence of each factor. Among the total factors assessed, variables affecting the severity of traffic accidents were overwhelmingly high in cases of signal violations, followed by the age group of drivers (60s or older), factors pertaining only to the car, and cases of centerline infringement. Based on the research results, a reasonable legal reform plan was proposed to prevent serious traffic accidents and strengthen safety management of two-wheeled vehicles. Based on the research results, we propose a reasonable legal reform plan to prevent serious traffic accidents and strengthen safety management of two-wheeled vehicles.

  • Background: Unstable distal clavicles experience high non-union rates, prompting surgeons to recommend surgery for more predictable outcomes. There is a lack of consensus on the optimal method of surgical fixation, with an array of techniques described in the literature. We describe an alternative method of fixation involving the use of a distal clavicular anatomical locking plate with Fibertape cerclage augmentation in our series of patients. Methods: Nine patients (8 males and 1 female), with a mean age of 36 years, who sustained unstable fracture of the distal clavicle in our institution were treated with our described technique. Postoperative range of motion, functional and pain scores, and time to radiographic union were measured over a mean follow-up period of 10 months. Incidences of postoperative complications were also recorded. Results: At the last patient consult, the mean visual analog scale score was 0.88±0.35, with a mean Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) score of 1.46±0.87 and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score of 94.1±3.57. The mean range of motion achieved was forward flexion at 173°±10.6°, abduction at 173°±10.6°, and external rotation at 74.4°±10.5°. All patients achieved internal rotation at a vertebral height of at least L2 with radiographical union at a mean of 10 weeks. No removal of implants was required. Conclusions: Our described technique of augmented fixation of the distal clavicle is effective, produces good clinical outcomes, and has minimal complications.

  • The safe evacuation of people during disasters is of utmost importance. Various life safety evacuation simulation tools have been developed and implemented, with most relying on algorithms that analyze maps to extract the shortest path and guide agents along predetermined routes. While effective in predicting evacuation routes in stable disaster conditions and short timeframes, this approach falls short in dynamic situations where disaster scenarios constantly change. Existing algorithms struggle to respond to such scenarios, prompting the need for a more adaptive evacuation route algorithm that can respond to changing disasters. Artificial intelligence technology based on reinforcement learning holds the potential to develop such an algorithm. As a fundamental step in algorithm development, this study aims to evaluate whether an evacuation algorithm developed by reinforcement learning satisfies the performance conditions of the evacuation simulation tool required by IMO MSC.1/Circ1533.
