Two Overarching Teleconnection Mechanisms Affecting the Prediction of the 2018 Korean Heat Waves

  • Given the significant social and economic impact caused by heat waves, there is a pressing need to predict them with high accuracy and reliability. In this study, we analyzed the real-time forecast data from six models constituting the Subseasonal-to-Seasonal (S2S) prediction project, to elucidate the key mechanisms contributing to the prediction of the recent record-breaking Korean heat wave event in 2018. Weekly anomalies were first obtained by subtracting the 2017-2020 mean values for both S2S model simulations and observations. By comparing four Korean heat-wave-related indices from S2S models to the observed data, we aimed to identify key climate processes affecting prediction accuracy. The results showed that superior performance at predicting the 2018 Korean heat wave was achieved when the model showed better prediction performance for the anomalous anticyclonic activity in the upper troposphere of Eastern Europe and the cyclonic circulation over the Western North Pacific (WNP) region compared to the observed data. Furthermore, the development of upper-tropospheric anticyclones in Eastern Europe was closely related to global warming and the occurrence of La Niña events. The anomalous cyclonic flow in the WNP region coincided with enhancements in Madden-Julian oscillation phases 4-6. Our results indicate that, for the accurate prediction of heat waves, such as the 2018 Korean heat wave, it is imperative for the S2S models to realistically reproduce the variabilities over the Eastern Europe and WNP regions.

정보활용교육 관련 교과서류의 내용 요소 전개에 관한 연구 - 학습 내용의 내재적 통일성을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Development of Content Components in Information Literacy Textbooks: Focusing on the internal coherence of the learning contents)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 정보활용교육 관련 교과서 3종의 내용 요소가 어떻게 전개되는가를 살펴보고, 향후 교과서 개발에 참고할 시사점을 찾는 것이다. 정보활용교육 관련 교과서 3종은 시간을 달리해 순차적으로 개발되었으며, 개별 교과서별 특징이 분명하게 구분된다. 『정보와 매체』(1996)와 『도서관과 정보생활』(2011)의 내용 요소는 선조적 구성으로 전개되는 반면, 『정보와 도서관』(2002)은 주제 중심의 단회성 프로젝트 활동으로 구성되었다. 교과서의 단원은 학습목표-학습내용-학습활동이 고르게 의미상 관계성을 맺어야 한다. 하지만 정보활용교육 관련 교과서의 경우, 일부 단원에서 학습목표와 내용, 활동 사이의 관계가 단절되는 사례가 나타난다. 이런 단절은 교과서 내용 요소의 전개에 있어 신뢰성과 직접적인 관계가 있는 만큼 향후 교과서 개발에 있어 충분 검토가 필요한 사항이 될 수 있다.

Change in plasma cortisol and glucose levels of Oncorhynchus keta according to water temperature

  • Chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) is a species of anadromous salmonid inhabiting coastal rivers in the North Pacific and the Arctic in the Bering and is the most widely distributed among Pacific salmon species. It is an important fish species in Korea as the salmon releasing project is being actively carried out. This study was conducted to investigate changes in the physiological activity of O. keta according to water temperature. Three experiments were conducted according to the water temperature and period, and the plasma concentrations of cortisol and glucose were analyzed from the blood samples of the experimental groups. Experiment I is a short-term water temperature experiment, in which water temperature stimulation was given for 4 hours at water temperatures of 12℃, 16℃ (control), 20℃, and 24℃, and a recovery period was given for 4 hours. Experiment II is an experiment in which water temperature stimulation was given for 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours at a high temperature of 24℃, and a recovery period was given for 12 hours, respectively. Experiment III is a long-term water temperature experiment, in which the water temperature was 12℃, 16℃ (control), 20℃, and 24℃ for 8 weeks. As a result of the experiment, in Experiment I, there was no significant difference in the survival rate between the experimental groups, but the concentration of cortisol and glucose in the plasma according to the set water temperature showed a significant difference. In Experiment II, there was no significant trend according to the maintenance time of the high-temperature state, but as the temperature increased, the plasma cortisol and glucose levels significantly increased compared to the control group. In Experiment III, all of the experimental group C (24℃) died in the 1st week, and there was no significant difference in the plasma glucose at the 1st and 8th weeks among the remaining experimental groups.

지방자치단체의 보건재정역량과 지역주민의 건강행태 간 관련성에 대한 단면조사연구 (Association between health financial capacity of local governments and health behaviors of local residents: a cross-sectional study)

  • Objectives: The budget gap in the health sector of local governments affects the supply of health services, which can cause the health gap. This study classified local governments according to their financial characteristics, such as local financial independence and health budget level. It analyzed the health behaviors and disease prevalence of local residents to examine the effect of local government financial investment on the health of local residents. Methods: To classify types according to the financial characteristics of local governments, financial independence and the health budget data for 17 local governments were collected from the local fiscal yearbook of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security. The prevalence of chronic diseases and healthy behavior was compared using the 16,333 data of adults between the ages of 30 and 65 years among the original data of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016-2020). Results: Cluster analysis was used to classify local governments into five clusters according to the health financial capacity type. A comparison of the prevalence of local residents by cluster revealed a similar prevalence of hypertension, diabetes, and hypercholesterolemia. On the other hand, the obesity rate (P < 0.01), high-risk drinking rate (P < 0.01), aerobic physical activity rate (P < 0.001), and healthy eating practice rate (P < 0.001) were significantly different. In addition, an analysis of the odds ratio based on the Seoul area revealed a higher risk of health behavior of non-Seoul residents. Conclusions: It is necessary to review the universal health promotion project budget considering the degree of regional financial vulnerability from the viewpoint of health equity to narrow the health gap among regions.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 스마트팜 사업 참여 기업 자료를 이용하여 기업의 혁신 활동이 기업 혁신 성과에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 실증분석 하였다. 기업의 혁신활동을 기획역량, R&D역량과 사업화 역량으로 구분하고 각 혁신 활동이 기업의 매출 및 특허 창출에 미치는 영향을 추정하였으며, 정부의 기술정책지원이 기업의 혁신활동과 성과와의 관계에서 미치는 조절효과도 분석하였다. 연구방법으로는 회귀분석을 진행하였으며 분석 결과, 기업 내 혁신과 관련된 기획역량, R&D역량, 사업화 역량은 기업 성과 창출에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타으며 정부의 기술정책 지원도 기업 성과를 더 높이는 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 기술사업화 경영성과를 높이기 위해서는 기획, R&D역량과함께 정부의 기술정책지원이 필요한 것으로 확인되었다.

Analysis of Factor Affecting for Improving Construction Engineering Market

  • The Construction Engineering Industry (CEI) is construction field based on professional knowledge, staff and information service, and is distinguished by construction activity. The contemporary CEI market has extended globally and diversified construction work classifications. International construction engineering companies now have an important economic and social effect. Over the last five years (2009 to 2013), the top-200 global engineering firms reported global revenue that grew from 54.4 billion to 71.5 billion, about 27% growth (ENR, 2014). Countries such as the U.S.A., Canada, those in Europe (Several developed countries, i.e., United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Spain, France, Italy, and Spain), Australia, Japan, China, and Korea comprise the bulk of world construction engineering revenue. Although the construction engineering market continues to grow, much of the work is limited to Europe, mid-Asia, and Asia. Additionally, specific construction types are focused on building projects, industrial plants, and refining plants. As such, there are imbalances in the construction engineering market and some market saturation. Further, there is heavy competition and the construction engineering market may shrink in the future. This paper analyzed various factors affecting the construction engineering market, specifically looking at construction classifications and factors related to a global market. To accomplish this, we collected to data from Engineering News Record (ENR) and recast each variable. And we used nonparametric statistics because the number of cases were small, making it difficult to assume a case's population parameter. Then we tested with the Kruskal-Wallis test and drew results. The results indicate that concentration in particular construction types and extending global regional markets will be have a positive effect on the overall global construction engineering market..

식품 유래 Biofilm 형성 유산균에 대한 대황(Eisenia bicyclis) 유래 Nanoparticle의 Biofilm 형성 저해 (Inhibition of Food-derived Lactic Acid Bacterial Biofilm Formation Using Eisenia bicyclis-derived Nanoparticles)

  • Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) growth in processed meat products produces slime. In this study, 10 different biofilm-forming LAB, including Leuconostoc mesenteroides, Lacticaseibacillus paracasei, Levilactobacillus brevis, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, Leuconostoc citreum, Weissella viridescens, and Latilactobacillus sakei, were isolated from various meat products and identified based on 16S rRNA gene analysis. To inhibit biofilm formation by LABs, Eisenia bicycles methanolic extract (EB) and ethyl acetate soluble fraction (EA) were used as antibacterial and antibiofilm agents, respectively. Furthermore, EA and EB were employed to synthesize gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) such as EB-AuNPs and EA-AuNPs, which could serve as antibiofilm agents against the isolated LAB. These findings demonstrate that EA, EB-AuNPs, and EA-AuNPs exhibit significant antibacterial activity against the isolated LAB. Furthermore, EB-AuNPs reduced L. citreum biofilm production, whereas EA-AuNPs inhibited L. mesenteroides and L. brevis biofilm formation. The current results suggest that EB-AuNPs and EA-AuNPs can be used as nanomaterials to inhibit LAB that form biofilms on meat products.

장애 청소년의 작업 균형과 시간 사용 만족감에 관한 연구 (Occupational Balance and Time Use Satisfaction of Adolescents With Disabilities)

  • 목적 : 본 연구에서는 통계청의 '2014년 생활시간 조사' 원자료를 사용하여 장애 청소년의 시간 사용 분석과 작업 유형별 시간 사용에 대한 자기 만족도를 알아보고자 한다. 연구방법 : 통계청에서 추출한 자료를 활용해 10세에서 24세 장애 청소년 84명을 작업치료실행체계-3을 기준으로 6개의 작업 영역으로 재분류했다. 작업 유형은 개인의 시간 사용량을 기준으로 하여 분류하였다. 마지막으로 작업 유형에 따라 시간 사용에 대한 자기 만족감을 확인하였다. 결과 : 장애 청소년의 전체 시간 사용량은 휴식과 수면 영역(42.33%)의 시간 사용이 가장 많았고 그 다음 일상 영역(21.69%), 교육 영역(16.44%), 여가 영역(14.15%), 사회참여 영역(3.46%), 놀이 영역(1.93%) 순이었다. 작업 유형을 분석한 결과, 역균형 유형 10.71%, 활동과다 유형 50.00%, 활동과소 유형 28.57%, 균형 유형 10.71% 이었으며, 휴식과 수면 영역, 일상 영역, 교육 영역, 여가 영역에서 유형별 유의한 차이를 보였다. 시간 사용 부족감에 대해서는 유의한 차이가 없었으나 시간 사용 만족감에서는 유형별 유의한 차이를 보였다. 특히 균형 유형이 가장 만족한다고 느꼈다. 결론 : 장애 청소년의 시간 사용을 활용한 작업 균형 분석과 시간 사용에 관한 부족감 및 만족감 분석을 통하여 장애 청소년의 삶의 질과 건강을 증진 시킬 수 있는 중재 활동의 기초 자료로 제공하고자 한다.

한국형 진단명 기준 환자군(KDRG)별 간호수가 산정을 위한 간호행위 규명;9개 질환군을 대상으로 (Determination of Nursing Activities for Estimation of Nursing Fees Based on 9 KDRGs (Korean Diagnosis-Related Groups))

  • The purpose of this study was to determine which nursing activities are performed for patients in each of the nine KDRGs and to examine common nursing activities between patients with the nine KDRGs and special nursing activities which were not common to patients with the nine KDRGs. The study will provide basic data for estimation of nursing fees. The nine KDRGs in model project are Lens procedures, tonsillectomy, &/or adenoidectomy, appendectomy &/or not complicate principal diagnosis, vaginal delivery, cesarean section, anal & stomal procedures, inguinal & femoral hernia, uterine & adneza procedure for nonmalignancy, and simple pneumonia & pleurisy. To determine the nursing activities for each of the nine KDRG, checklists of nursing activities in each nine KDRG were developed from the literature and a total of 115 records of patients 'who were diagnosed and discharged between January and April, 1999 from a tertiary medical center. Nursing activities for each of the nine KDRG were verified through two consecutive content analyses. The results of study are followed as: 1. The checklists of nursing activities developed included direct and indirect nursing activities, for a total of 241 nursing activities. Direct nursing consisted of physical, educational, emotional-socioecomomic-spiritual nursing in 17 areas. Indirect nursing had four areas. 2. Through the two consecutive content analyses, 197 nursing activities were selected, having item CVIs of .83 or more. Those included 81 nursing activities for Lens procedures, 95 for Tonsillectomy &/or Adenoidectomy. 93 in Appendectomy &/or not complicated principal diagnosis, 155 for vaginal delivery, 172 for cesarean section, 89 for anal & stomal procedures, 93 for inguinal & femoral hernia, 108 for uterine & adneza procedures for non-malignancy, and 68 for simple pneumonia & pleurisy. 3. Nursing activities for each of the nine KDRG were compared. Activities with 80% or higher commonality within the nine KDRGs consisted of 86 of 197 nursing activities for the total designated common nursing activities, 30 common nursing activities for patients in the operation group, 45 common activities for patients in the delivery Group. Special nursing activities not common within the nine KDRGs were : 3 for Lens procedures, 1 for Tonsillectomy &/or Adenoidectomy. 2 for Appendectomy &/or not complicated principal diagnosis, 27 for vaginal delivery, 21 for Cesarean section, 6 for anal & stomal procedures, 3 for inguinal & femoral hernia, 16 for uterine & adneza procedure for non-malignancy, 8 for simple pneumonia & pleurisy. In this study, nursing activities for each of the nine KDRGs verified through two consecutive content analyses are those that are performed in the hospital. And, nursing activities for each of the nine KDRGs included all nursing activities from hospital admission to discharge. So. the checklists consisted of nursing activities that allow for an estimation of nursing fees under PPS. The classification of nursing activities in the study will provide a reference for the development of a nursing activity classification.

국민공통기본교육과정 과학과의 해양영역에 관련된 용어 및 탐구의 연계성 분석 (A Relationship Analysis of Terms and Inquiries in Ocean Unit of Science Textbooks Based on the Korean National Common Basic Curriculum)

  • 이 연구는 국민공통기본교육과정 해양영역의 용어, 학습개념, 탐구를 대상으로 학습 연계성을 분석하였다. 분석 대상 교과서는 제 7 차 교육과정에 의해 집필된 초등학교 4학년, 중학교 7학년, 고등학교 10학년 과학교과서를 사용하였다. 용어의 사용 빈도는 초등학교에서 중 ${\cdot}$ 고등학교로 학교급이 올라가면서 증가하였으나, 용어의 해설은 고등학교로 갈수록 감소하였다. 학습개념은 초${\cdot}$${\cdot}$고등학교에 관계없이 구체적 개념이 형식적 개념보다 많은 것으로 조사되었다. 탐구상황은 순수 과학적 상황이 초${\cdot}$${\cdot}$고등학교 전 과정에서 통해서 가장 높았다. 탐구과정은 초등학교에서 중학교, 고등학교로 올라감에 따라 기본적 탐구과정에서 통합적 탐구과정의 비율이 증가하는 것으로 조사되었다. 탐구활동은 초${\cdot}$${\cdot}$고등학교에서의 토의, 실험, 조사의 탐구활동이 많았으나, 고등학교에서는 견학 및 과제 연구가 전혀 제시되지 않았다. 이러한 결과에서, 기본 교육자료인 교과서에는 학교급에 상관없이 주요 용어에 대한 설명이 필요한 것으로 보인다. 또한, 학습개념과 탐구상황은 학생들의 인지발달과 과학${\cdot}$기술${\cdot}$사회와의 관계에서 전인적 학습이 가능하도록 할 필요가 있다. 특히, 지구과학교육에서 탐구활동은 야외학습을 통한 교육적인 효과가 크기에 적절한 적용이 요구된다.
