The Impact of Motivation and Self-Activation on Career Effectiveness and Employee Satisfaction upon Completion of Employee Training Programs of a Chain Hotel in China - A Case Study of Sheraton Sheraton Hotel in China - (중국 체인 호텔의 교육 훈련 후 동기 부여와 자기실현이 경력 유효성 및 만족도에 미치는 영향 - 중국 Sheraton Shenzhen Hotel을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of motivation and self-activation on career effectiveness and employee satisfaction after completion of employee training programs of the chain hotel in China. Four hypotheses have been set for the study. The hypothesis 1 is the motivation by training programs will be positively influenced on career effectiveness. The hypothesis 2 is the motivation by training program will be positively influenced on employee satisfaction. The hypothesis 3 is self-activation after training will influence positively on career effectiveness. The hypothesis 4 is self-activation after training will be positively influenced employee satisfaction. The results shows that training programs cause positive effects on motivation(p-value 0.003) and self-activation(p-value 0.036) respectively. Also, self-activation after training influences positively on career effectiveness(p-value 0.000) and employee satisfaction(p-value 0.020). The results show that the training programs of the chain hotel in China have been implemented positively. The limitation of this study is that the training programs are analyzed as a whole not by individually.

  • Many companies make active use of loyalty programs to improve their customers' loyalty to the company. Loyalty programs are widely used in various industries and sectors, including oil, telecommunications, credit card, department stores, and internet shopping malls; their performance seems to be successful in building a positive relationship with customers. This study emphasizes the role of affiliate programs in creating loyalty, thereby helping companies to maintain their competitive advantage. To objectives of this study are to investigate which antecedent variables(affiliate program benefit, service company characteristic , consumer characteristic) have significant effects on consumer perceived affiliate program satisfaction and to examine whether these factors have differences between Korean and Japanese consumers. The useful results will provide marketing strategy for marketers of service companies. The results also show that affiliate program is very important in order to maintain relationship with customers in service companies.

The Impact of Customer Value and Internet Shopping Mall on Customer Satisfaction and Customer Loyalty

  • With development of the internet, internet shopping is taking its place as one of digitalization industries transcending time and space beyond the scope of commercial activities as the means of goods sales and purchase. We studied about the relations of customer value, environment of internet shopping mall, customer satisfaction and loyalty. Customer value is customers' subjective evaluation, which is formed after their purchasing and consuming. Customer satisfaction can be characterized as post-purchase evaluation of product quality given pre-purchase expectations. Customer loyalty is a potentiality or ensure of durative relationship between customer and enterprises. Customer satisfaction functions as an antecedent of customer loyalty, while customer value does customer satisfaction. It prevents customer churn and consolidates retention, thereby constituting an important cause of customer loyalty. This study shows that customer value, environment of internet shopping mall and customer satisfaction are each found to have a direct effect on customer loyalty. The results provide empirical support for relation between customer satisfaction and loyalty. To increase customer satisfaction and customer loyalty in internet shopping mall is the primary purpose of this study. We believe that only high quality based customer programs accompanied by well designed loyalty programs can be effective in increasing customer retention.

  • Objectives: This study analyzes whether the leisure activities satisfaction of elderly and older elderly patients differs with population sociology characteristics for the leisure activities services provided by geriatric hospitals, and to provide basic information to make reasonable decisions. Methods: Difference Analysis of the difference (T-test, ANOVA) in leisure activities satisfaction was conducted for the elderly and older elderly patients hospitalized in nine hospitals. Results: First, In the planning stage of leisure activity program, it is necessary to consider the tendency of men and women to prefer gender-based leisure activity service. Second, It was found that old elderly patients were more in number than elderly patients. Third, managers of geriatric hospitals in Busan and Kyungnam area should consider the needs of the patients in the planning and implementation of leisure activities and improve their leisure activity programs or develop more programs for better customer satisfaction.

  • Despite accelerating market changes in the beauty service industry, there are still inadequate service education programs and a lack of objective data and research to develop systematic policies to strengthen competitiveness, thereby fostering the beauty service industry. Accordingly, this study will examine the factors that affect customer satisfaction in terms of customer touchpoints, hence uncovering what the beauty service needs to develop systematic customer service education programs. It aims to contribute to the improvement of beauty service quality by providing basic empirical data that is necessary to build service education programs and strengthen the touchpoint staffs' job competency. A total of 16 people, 8 male, and 8 female customers in their 30s and 40s, who have ever used hair shop services in the metropolitan area, and 8 male and female hair designers and owners, were interviewed during a 9week period from October 31, 2017, through December 30, 2017. The data was analyzed as follows in order to measure service quality, SERVQUAL was revised and supplemented according to the purpose of this study, and a table for customer satisfaction factors was constructed. In addition, the results of the study were derived by classifying the relations among the customer satisfaction factors with respect to the interviews. The results show that the price of hardware, the location of the store, and hair designers' ability, which are the direct components of customer satisfaction, have a great influence on the customer satisfaction considered when selecting the beauty services (hair shops). In addition, it can be seen that human services including human-ware, which are accompanying services make up a high proportion considering customer satisfaction factors.

The Influence of Confidence in Performance and Learning Flow on Satisfaction with Practicum Programs in Face-to-Face and Online Classes amid COVID-19 (COVID-19 상황으로 인한 대면과 온라인 수업에서 간호대학생의 수행자신감, 학습몰입도가 실습 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study investigated the relationship between satisfaction with fundamental nursing skills practicum, confidence in fundamental nursing skills performance and learning flow, and examined factors influencing satisfaction with practicum programs of fundamental nursing skills in face-to-face and online classes for nursing students amid COVID-19. Methods: The subjects of the study were 229 junior nursing students from two colleges of nursing located in D and C city, respectively. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test, Pearson's correlation and hierarchical multiple regression, using SPSS/WINdows 23.0. Results: The subjects' satisfaction with practicum showed a high positive correlation with confidence in performance (r=.55, p<.001) and learning flow (r=.70, p<.001) in face-to-face classes, and their satisfaction with practicum showed a high positive correlation with confidence in performance (r=.56, p<.001) and learning flow (r=.73, p<.001) in online classes. The factors affecting the subjects' satisfaction with practicum were learning flow (β=.51, p<.001) and confidence in performance (β=.30, p<.001) for face-to-face classes, and motivation for application (β=.14, p=.034), learning flow (β=.58 p<.001) and confidence in performance (β=.19, p=.015) for online classes. These factors explained 53% and 60% of the satisfaction with practicum in face-to-face classes (F=23.07, p<.001) and online classes (F=20.66, p<.001), respectively. Conclusion: Learning flow and confidence in performance should be considered when developing learning strategy programs to improve nursing students' satisfaction with fundamental nursing skills practicum in both face-to-face and online classes.

An Exploratory Study on Institutional Commitment of C-University Students (C대학교 대학생의 대학 몰입에 관한 탐색적 논의)

  • The purpose of this study is to pave the way to promote the institutional commitment of the students enrolled by identifying the factors that affects on their institutional commitment. The data collection was conducted starting from November 19, 2020 until November 26, 2020 by using online questionnaires and 220 participants were from C-university students in Chang-won, Kyung-nam Province. As a result of analysis, the average score for institutional commitment was 3.30, the average level of satisfaction of university life was 3.62, the cultural climate was 3.39 and the level of satisfaction for extracurricular program was 3.48, which was in high range. Institutional commitment has a positive correlation between the level of satisfaction of university life, the level of satisfaction for extracurricular programs(p<.001). The most critical factor that affects the institutional commitment was the level of satisfaction of university life and the level of satisfaction for extracurricular programs, the cultural climate in order. The result can be interpreted that institutional commitment is influenced by students' major and the level of satisfaction of university life and the level of satisfaction for extracurricular programs, and the level of satisfaction of university life has relatively high level of influence out of other factors, indicating that the effort to improve the institutional commitment of the students is needed at the collegiate level.

Relationship of Participation Satisfaction, Living Satisfaction and Life Satisfaction among Elderly Participants in the Job Creation Project for the Elderly (노인 일자리사업 참여 노인의 참여 만족도와 생활만족도 및 삶의 만족도와의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the participation satisfaction of elderly participants in the job creation project for the elderly, their living satisfaction, life satisfaction and the influence of their participation satisfaction in the project on their living satisfaction and life satisfaction. The major findings of the study were as follows: First, the senior citizens who participated in the job creation project for the elderly expressed a relatively high satisfaction with the project, but the level of their living satisfaction and life satisfaction was not that high. The elderly people who participated in the educational programs of the project were more satisfied with their own participation, living and life. Second, the senior participants who were more gratified with their own participation were more satisfied with their living and life. Third, the living satisfaction and life satisfaction of the elderly participants were under the largest influence of their educational satisfaction, which was part of participation satisfaction. The findings of the study suggest that more educational programs should be offered to step up the expansion of the job creation project for the elderly. In order to boost the living satisfaction and life satisfaction of the elderly, more intensive education should be provided on the job content of the job creation project for the elderly, and the development and implementation of appropriate educational programs are required as well.

Fashion education as a lifelong education program for adult learners (성인 학습자를 위한 평생교육으로서 패션 교육)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify adult learners' decision making variables, satisfaction, and evaluation toward fashion education as a university lifelong education program. As decision making variables, this study included participation purpose, information source, and selection criteria for lifelong education center and program. Regarding satisfaction toward fashion education, this study included satisfaction toward program and satisfaction toward education condition and administrative services. Data were gathered by both questionnaires and focus group interview(FGI) with 12 adults who completed the program. While questionnaires were used for decision making variables and satisfaction, FGI was used for evaluation. Frequency was used to analyze the questionnaires and content analysis was used to analyze the results of FGI. The findings showed that respondents participated mostly because of hobby or interest and got information mostly from acquaintances. They regarded program contents as the selection criteria for lifelong education center. They also regarded lecturers' professionality as the selection criteria for the program and showed high satisfaction toward lecturers' passion. Regarding education condition and administrative services, they showed high satisfaction. FGI also showed the importance of individual competence, career development, a work-study program, a on-site study program, and lecturer. The results suggest methods to make university lifelong education programs more appealing to adults who want to attend universities for non-degree university programs.

Analysis of Educational Satisfaction of Urban Regeneration University in Small and Medium Cities (중소도시 도시재생대학 교육 만족도 분석)

  • It is important for residents to give opinions and participate in urban regeneration projects. Urban regeneration college is being operated to strengthen the capacity of residents. In this study, the educational satisfaction of the students was surveyed while conducting the program of urban regeneration college. By analyzing survey, we intend to derive implications when constructing an urban regeneration college education program. The survey was conducted on 215 students from urban regeneration college in y-gun. Analysis was performed using the spss24.0 program. As a result of factor analysis, it was classified into three factors: education design, education culture, and education support. All three factors had significant differences in educational satisfaction. Satisfaction with education had a significant effect on the possibility of village development. Satisfaction was different according to the contents of the educational program according to the awareness of urban regeneration. For those who are aware of urban regeneration, educational culture among educational programs has more influence on educational satisfaction. Those who were not aware of urban regeneration had an effect on education support and education satisfaction. The results of this study can be used as basic data when planning educational programs for urban regeneration college.
