형상안내형 범용형상자동면취기의 개발을 위한 기초연구 (A Basic Research for the Development of Generalized Shape Guided Automatic Deburring Machine)

  • Recently, the deburring process which is last process of manufacture is one of the important process for complete product. The manual deburring process can cause not only higher error rate but also irregular shape and quality of product. Therefore, Shape Guided Automatic Deburring Machine has been developed to resolve the above problems. But the Shape Guided Automatic Deburring Machine have been applied only to produce a circular product. Therefore, this machine is difficult to apply to products of various shapes. To solve this problem, we would like to develop Generalized Shape Guided Automatic Deburring Machine applicable to various shapes. To this end, we have done the modeling and design using CATIA program and have performed machine simulation.

  • This paper examines critical successful facts related with the digital new product development with product innovation. For this, we have selected a Xcanvas time-machine TV of LG electronics and we have done case-study. We have performed in-depth interviews with engineers, team managers, marketers to get facts on the product development process and analyzed huge amount of data obtained from web-sites and related firms' materials. We have concluded that CSFs of Xcanvas time-machine TV are customer-centered product innovation, new perspective of considering technology and product, managing innovative team and motivation to team member.

사형제품 기계가공을 위한 안전금형 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of Safety Shell Molds for Precision Machining of Sand Mold Casting Product)

  • An accident from machine work is often fatal to the worker. This accident is mostly preventable through perfect process jig. In case of this machine work, however, the disaster frequently occurred because of the design which is not considered the beginning of product design, post-process and mass process of production. As for sand casting method, this has the merits of the production; the product is easily produced by manual labor. On the other hand, this method has the demerits of a bigger dimensional error contrary to other mass process of production. When the sand casting product is in machine work, there are various problems such as unsafe fix and excessive cutting, product desorption and rapid life depreciation of equipment and tools. Considering the characteristics of sand casting method, it is accepted as difficulty to improve the problems. In this study, it suggests shell mold method for mold instead of the machine work after the sand casting of the circle shape container product. And the surface accomplishes the following average of surface roughness Ra$9.94{\mu}m$ of machine work with the casting of flask mold by shell mold method. In accordance with the simplification of processing process and reducing the average thickness variation by mass production of product with detailed appearance, it has a good influence on safety accident prevention caused by production and damaged product. It is confirmed that making higher degree of size precision of all machine work product is possible to increase the safety and productivity, reduce the processing process and improve environment.

  • 본 논문의 목적은 세척기를 구조 변경하여 새로운 세척기를 개발하는데 있다. 세척 성능을 향상시킨 세척기 개발을 위하여 기존의 세척기 구조를 변경하여 설계하였다. 설계 시 프로그램은 CATIA를 사용하였으며 구조해석에 필요한 모델링도 CATIA를 사용하였다. 또한 모델링된 세척기에 대하여 3차원 유한요소해석 프로그램인 ANSYS를 사용하여 구조해석을 실시하였으며 해석결과로서 총변형량, 응력, 변형률을 구하였다. 이러한 구조해석의 결과는 새로운 세척기의 제품개발에 활용되었다.

  • Today's product development requires simultaneous satisfaction of low cost, high quality and fast time to market. It is, however, difficult for product designers and engineers to achieve this goal due to too many requirements. This study shows integrated Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) approach can help to achieve such goal. CAE can not only support designers when decision needs to be made during concept design period but also provide evaluation of the designed parts and guidance to the best design of products during detail design period. Furthermore, integration with virtual prototyping concept can reduce number of actual prototyping and consequently reduce product development cost and time considerably. In order to demonstrate its possibility, example of washing machine development using CAE and its results are presented in this study.

절삭력을 고려한 고정밀 연삭기 핵심부품의 구조해석 및 안정성에 관한 연구 (Study on Structural and Stability Analyses of the Main Parts of a High-Precision Grinding Machine Considering the Cutting Force)

  • Recently, the quality of products after the corresponding machining processes were scrutinized in the interest of maintaining a high product-quality standard. The structure and stability of machine tools are important for the prediction of product quality. A structural analysis needs to be carried out to achieve the stable design of machine tools before the initial design stage in the manufacturing process of a precision product. In this study, a structural analysis was carried out using a finite element analysis (FEA) simulation to obtain the design stability of the main parts of a grinding machine. The sizes and locations of both the maximum stress and deformation in consideration of the cutting force of the chuck, tail stock, and bearing of the grinding machine were analyzed. Finally the grinding machine was successfully developed.

비대칭 "ㄱ" 단면 앵글제품의 압출굽힘 가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Extru-Bending Process of the Angle Product with non-Symmetric "ㄱ" Section)

  • It was investigated that the "ㄱ" type angle product could be bended with a curvature during extrusion by extru-bending process. The bending process for the "ㄱ" type angle product can be developed by the hot metal extru-bending machine with the two punches moving in the different velocity. Because of non-symmetry of product, it is important to design the ruled surface contour of dies cavity for the welding and bending with two billets. So it is designed that the multi-hole container has two non-symmetric holes and non-symmetric contour of dies entrance. The results of the experiment show that "ㄱ" type angle product can be bended by the extrusion process and that the curvature of the product can be controlled by the velocity of punch and that the defects such as the distortion of section and the thickness change of the product and the folding and wrinkling of the product did not happen after the bending processing by the extrusion bending machine.

HMI 기능성 시뮬레이션과 VR 기법과의 연동을 통한 개인용 전자제품의 가상시작 방안 (Virtual Prototyping of Consumer Electronic Products by Embedding HMI Functional Simulation into VR Techniques)

  • The functional behavior of a consumer electronic product is nearly all expressed with human-machine interaction (HMI) tasks. Although physical prototyping and computer aided design (CAD) software can show the appearance of the product, they cannot properly reflect its functional behavior. In this paper, we propose an approach to virtual prototyping (VP) that incorporates HMI functional simulation into virtual reality techniques in order to enables users to capture not only the realistic look of a consumer electronic product but also its functional behavior. We adopt state transition methodology to capture the HMI functional behavior of the product into a state transition chart, which is later used to construct a finite state machine (FSM) for the functional simulation of the product. The FSM plays an important role to control the transition between states of the product. We have developed a VP system based on the proposed approach. The system receives input events such as mouse clicks on buttons and switches of the virtual prototype model, and it reacts to the events based on the FSM by activating associated activities. The system provides the realistic visualization of the product and the vivid simulation of its functional behavior using head-mounted displays (HMD) and stereo speakers. It can easily allow users to perform functional evaluation and usability testing. A case study about the virtual prototyping of an MP3 player is given to show the usefulness of the proposed approach.

PC 기반 PLC를 이용한 사출성형기 배럴의 퍼지 온도 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fuzzy Temperature Control for the Barrels of Injection Molding Machine using PC based PLC)

  • Injection molding has been widely used for the mass production of a plastic product. With the development of the relative technique, various injection molding techniques have been developed and we could get more precise plastic product. The temperature of a melting resin is an important factor in the injection molding and this temperature has direct influence on the quality of a plastic product. In the present injection molding machine, the deriation of a temperature controlled by PID control method is within 2$^{\circ}C$ in the injection molding machine but PID control method takes too much time to stabilize after preheating and its overshoot is so big. We applied fuzzy control to alleriate the problem. In this research, we experimented the fuzzy temperature control with the usage of PC based PLC.
