Purpose - This study focuses on the use of evaluative criteria software for imprecise market information, and product mapping relationships between design parameters and customer requirements. Research design, data, and methodology - This study involved using the product predicted value method, synthesizing design alternatives through a morphological analysis and plan, realizing the synthesis in multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM), and using its searching software capacity to obtain optimal solutions. Results - The establishment of product designs conforms to the customer demand, and promotes the optimization of several designs. In this study, the construction level analytic method and the simple multi attribute comment, or the quantity analytic method are used. Conclusions - This study provides a solution for enterprise products' multi-goals decision-making, because the product design lacks determinism, complexity, risk, conflict, and so on. In addition, the changeable factor renders the entire decision-making process more difficult. It uses Fuzzy deduction and the correlation technology for appraising the feasible method and multi-goals decision-making, to solve situations of the products' multi-goals and limited resources, and assigns resources for the best product design.
Under the Manufacturing Liability Act, consumers want to be protected from manufacturers by mitigating burden of proof as an important target to be protected. However, due to the complexity of the product, it is very difficult for consumers to prove defects from the manufacturing defect. This situation has led to a major revision of the Manufacturing Liability Act, which mitigates the burden of proof of consumers by applying fruitless liability. The Manufacturing Liability Act is comparable to the U.S., which has strong consumer rights and is protected by the Manufacturing Liability Act. The burden of proof can be regarded as the most necessary content for consumers within the manufacturing product liability law when responding to manufacturing defects. The U.S. intends to provide implications for achieving consumer protection in Korea's Manufacturing Liability Act by imitating the U.S. based on the burden of proof. Case comparison regarding burden of proof can be conducted based on various criteria, including criteria for each product and key features for determining the importance of the manufacturing product liability law. The Act on the Responsibility of Korean Manufacturing Products for the Protection of Consumers was developed based on the assessment criteria, and a remedy was proposed to protect consumers who suffered from manufacturing defects.
Purpose - Based on complexity theory, this study develops a configurational model to predict the profitability of Halal cosmetics firms in the Indonesian and Malaysian markets. The proposed research model involves two level configurations-industry context and selling strategies-to predict high and low scores of a firm's profitability. The industry context configuration model comprises industry stability, product homogeneity, price sensitivity, and switching cost. Selling strategies include customer-focused, competitor-focused, and margin-focused approaches. Design/methodology - This is the first empirical study that calculates causal models using a combination of industry context and selling strategy factors to predict profitability. Data obtained from the marketing managers of cosmetics firms are used to test the proposed configurational model using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). It contributes to the current knowledge of business marketing by identifying the factors necessary to achieve profitability using analysis of condition (ANC). Findings - The results revealed that unique and distinct models explain the conditions for high and low profitability in the Indonesian and Malaysian halal cosmetic markets. While customer-focused selling strategy is necessary to attain a higher profit in both the markets, margin-focused selling strategy appears to be an essential factor only in Malaysia. Complexity of the interactions of selling strategies with industry factors and differences between across two study markets confirmed that complexity theory can support the research configurational model. The theoretical and practical implications are also illustrated. Originality/value - Despite the rapid growth of the global halal industry, there is little knowledge about the halal cosmetic market. This study contributes to the current literature of the halal market by performing a set of asymmetric analytical approaches using a complex theoretical model. It also deepens our understating of how the Korean firms can approach the Muslim consumer's needs to generate more beneficial turnover/revenue.
Since the first sale of a banner advertisement in 1995, electronic commerce has become a new transaction channel for consumers. With more than 20 years of its history, electronic commerce has become an important consumption channel for everyone and inexperience is no more a reason that discourages the consumption through this channel. The great expansion of this channel is now a formidable thereat to traditional channels. However, products with high asset specificity and complexity are still having difficulty to be traded over the online channel where the experience of the products for a consumer is limited. Especially, variations of the same product's quality depending on how pre-owners used the product and high complexity to describe the quality of the products prevent used goods from being traded over e-channels. Added to that, the information asymmetry between sellers and buyers for used goods makes the establishment of market transaction difficult. Considering the challenges, the current case study discusses thredUP, a clothing resale platform company. In this paper, we study how the company could overcome those limitations in this toughest resale market through the use of AI for dynamic pricing and standarized product quality ratings. In addition, we also hope to provide readers with the opportunity to understand the secondhand industries and its market, and see where it is heading for in the future.

In addition the causality of consumer information needs and related variables is investigated, Major findings are the following: (1) Respondent's needs for consumer information on the color television set and the tryply-pan are in very high level. (2) Among several relevant characteristics respondents' product involvement and perception on the quality differences is strongly related to information needs, (3) Respondents' self-confidence in the product evaluation respondents' perception of the price dispersion and product complexity show a positive effects on the level of information needs. (4) Respondents' age educational level purchasing experience show a negative effects on the level of information needs.
Now, many studies of industrial field are focusing on the whole optimization of SCM. But, the reason for making simultaneity of the whole system of SCM difficult is reduced scale of studies on ordering area in SCM reducing the complexity. It's an important issue how to allocate orders in the environment of many suppliers under special situation. Through this thesis, this research intends to expect systematic and arranged supply of distribution area which can make a decision while allocating product orders and quantity and maintaining service standard suggested by minimizing total purchase costs.
Objective: The aim of this study is to develop a distributed representative human model(DRHM) generation and analysis system. Background: DRHMs are used for a product with multiple-size categories such as clothing and shoes. It is not easy for a product designer to explore an optimal sizing system by applying various distributed methods because of their complexity and time demand. Method: Studies related to DRHM generation were reviewed and the RHM generation interfaces of three digital human model simulation systems(Jack$^{(R)}$, RAMSIS$^{(R)}$, and CATIA Human$^{(R)}$) were reviewed. Results: DRHM generation steps are implemented by providing sophisticated interfaces which offer various statistical techniques and visualization methods with ease. Conclusion: The DRHM system can analyze the multivariate accommodation percentage of a sizing system, provide body sizes of generated DRHMs, and visualize generated grids and DRHMs. Application: The DRHM generation and analysis system can be of great use to determine an optimal sizing system for a multiple-size product by comparing various sizing system candidates.

In this paper, we consider an uplink multiuser hybrid beamforming system where an access point (AP) communicates with multiple users simultaneously. The performance of the uplink multiuser hybrid beamforming system depends on the effective channel which is given by the product of the channel matrix and the analog beams. Therefore, to maximize the performance, we need to obtain the channel information and then select the analog beams appropriately by using the acquired channel information. In this paper, we propose the channel estimation method and low complexity analog beam selection algorithm for the uplink multiuser hybrid beamforming system. Additionally, our analysis shows that the proposed low complexity analog beam selection algorithm provides much less complexity than the optimum analog beam selection algorithm. From the numerical results, we confirm that the proposed low complexity analog beam selection algorithm has little performance degradation in spite of much less complexity than the optimum analog beam selection algorithm under the equal system configuration.

Terahertz (THz) communication is becoming a key technology for future 6G wireless networks because of its ultra-wide band. However, the implementation of THz communication systems confronts formidable challenges, notably beam splitting effects and high computational complexity associated with them. Our primary objective is to design a hybrid precoder that minimizes the Euclidean distance from the fully digital precoder. The analog precoding part adopts the delay-phase alternating minimization (DP-AltMin) algorithm, which divides the analog precoder into phase shifters and time delayers. This effectively addresses the beam splitting effects within THz communication by incorporating time delays. The traditional digital precoding solution, however, needs matrix inversion in THz massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication systems, resulting in significant computational complexity and complicating the design of the analog precoder. To address this issue, we exploit the characteristics of THz massive MIMO communication systems and construct the digital precoder as a product of scale factors and semi-unitary matrices. We utilize Schatten norm and Hölder's inequality to create semi-unitary matrices after initializing the scale factors depending on the power allocation. Finally, the analog precoder and digital precoder are alternately optimized to obtain the ultimate hybrid precoding scheme. Extensive numerical simulations have demonstrated that our proposed algorithm outperforms existing methods in mitigating the beam splitting issue, improving system performance, and exhibiting lower complexity. Furthermore, our approach exhibits a more favorable alignment with practical application requirements, underlying its practicality and efficiency.

In this paper, we employed a new quantization scheme called sample-adaptive product quantizer (SAPQ) to quantize image data based on the differential pulse code modulation (DPCM) coder, which has fixed length outputs and high bit rates. In order to improve the performance of traditional DPCM coders, the scalar quantizer should be replaced by the vector quantizer (VQ). As the bit rate increases, it will be nearly impossible to implement a conventional VQ or modified VQ, such as the tree-structured VQ, even if the modified VQ can significantly reduce the encoding complexity. SAPQ has a form of the feed-forward adaptive scalar quantizer having a short adaptation period. However, since SAPQ is a structurally constrained VQ, SAPQ can achieve VQ-level performance with a low encoding complexity. Since SAPQ has a scalar quantizer structure, by using the traditional scalar value predictors, we can easily apply SAPQ to DPCM coders. For synthetic data and real images, by employing SAPQ as the quantizer part of DPCM coders, we obtained a 2~3 dB improvement over the DPCM coders, which are based on the Lloyd-Max scalar quantizers, for data rates above 4 b/point.
