The glycosylation pattern of Erythropoietin (EPO), produced by recombinant CHO cells, was studied using the simple and rapid technique of 'Lectin-blotting'. In this experiment we used three different kinds of lectins, MAA(Maackia amurensis agglutinine), RCA(Ricinus communis agglutinine), and DSA(Datura stramonium agglutinine), which bind to the terminal sialic acid, galactose, and the N-acetyllactosamine chain respectively. The lectin-blotting technique was used to analyze the carbohydrate structure of EPO produced in the presence of two physiologically active chemical compounds, ammonium and chloroquine. The effect of the ammonium ion on the glycosylation of EPO was studied because it accumulated in the medium mainly as a by-product of glutamine matabolism. Ammonium chloride significantly inhibited the sialylation of the terminal galactose residue at concentrations of 8mM or more. Chloroquine, a potent inhibitor of glycosylation, inhibited terminal sialylation at concentrations of 100 and 200 $\mu$M, and at a concentration of 300 $\mu$M, also inhibited Nacetyllactosamine chain synthesis.

This paper describes the features of electric and magnetic fields produced by lightning discharges. The measuring system consists of fast electric field sensor, crossed-loop magnetic field sensors, signal processing circuit, A/D converter and data acquisition equipment with a 12bit resolution and 10[MS/s] sampling rate. The frequency bandwidth and responsitivity of the electric field measuring system were 40[Hz]${\sim}$2.6 [MHz] and 2.08 (V/m/mV) and those of the magnetic field measuring system were 400[Hz]${\sim}$1[MHz] and 2.78[nT/mV], respectively. The electric and magnetic fields produced by lightning discharges were observed, and the features and parameters of the waveforms were analyzed.

Effects of the selective alpha-adrenoceptor agonists, clonidine, oxymetazoline and phenylephrine, on heart rate and contractile force were investigated in the isolated frog atria and it was attempted to examine the influence of adrenoceptor antagonist upon those. Clonidine produced dose-dependent negative chronotropic and positive inotropic effects. The negative chronotropic effect was significantly attenuated in the presence of prazosin and yohimbine but not propranolol. The positive inotropic effect was significantly attenuated by prazosin, yohimbine and propranolol. Oxymetazoline produced dose-dependent negative chronotropic and inotropic effects. The negative chronotropic effect was significantly attenuated in the presence of prazosin, which was partially augmented by yohimbine but was not affected by propranolol. The negative inotropic effect was not affected by propranolol but it was partially augmented by yohimbine and was partially attenuated by prazosin. Phenylephrine produced dose-dependent positive chronotropic and inotropic effects. The positive chronotropic and inotropic effect were significantly attenuated in the presence of propranolol but were not affected by prazosin and yohimbine. These results suggest that the negative chronotropic effect by clonidine and oxymetazoline is mediated by alpha-adrenoceptors, the positive chronotropic and inotropic effects by phenylephrine are mediated by beta-adrenoceptors, and alpha-adrenoceptors mediated the inhibitory chronotropic responses exists in the isolated frog atria.

This experimental shows the possibility of using as biofertilizer, which convert insoluble inorganic phosphate salts to plant-usable phosphate type by immobilized microorganism with calcium alginate. In the case of culture of P. agglomerans on constant medium pH, phosphate was produced 357 mg/L after 18hrs. And in the case of culture of immobilzed P. agglomerans bead, phosphate was produced maximum 295.6 mg/L after 120 hrs. Also as using rock phosphate as insoluble phosphate salts, phosphate was respectably produced 190.3 and 195.2 mg/L after 36 hrs at free cells and immobilized cells. In our experiments, the using soils contained 23.16 g-P/kg-soil total phosphate and 3.76 g-P/kg-soil soluble phosphate. The result of 1g immobilized bead seeding, soluble phosphate was produced maximum 6.14 g-P/kg-soil phosphate and this value was increased continuously.

Oyster shell is produced by shucking process in oyster farming in southern coast of Korea. In average, about 6.7kg of oyster shell is produced as an industrial waste for 1kg of oyster flesh, and even only in last year, it is estimated that about 150,000 ton of oyster shell is produced. Oyster shell is light weighted and its strength characteristic is similar to sand. So we produced mortar test piece using grounded oyster shell powder under 0.6mm, 0.6~1.2mm, 1.2~2.5mm, 2.5~5.0mm of its particle size according to fine aggregate standard and reviewed strength Properties.

Nano size 몰드의 제작은 X-ray lithography 방법을 이용하여 몰드를 제작하고, micro size의 경우 Deep UV lithography 방법을 이용하여 몰드를 제작하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 SLS(Selective Laser Sintering)형 RP(Rapid Prototyping System)을 이용하여 미세구조 몰드를 제작하였으며, 패턴의 깊이는 400 ㎛까지 구현하였다. 제작된 몰드의 강도와 내열성을 높이기 위하여 전해도금을 이용하여 몰드의 표면에 Ni를 300 ㎛생성 시켰다.

This study compared pitch range, total duration of utterances, pause, boundary tones and mean duration of intonation final syllables of 4 sentences produced by 5 transgenders (male to female) to those of twenty normal adults. Voice analysis was performed by Praat (version 4.049). The results showed that there were differences in pitch range, total duration of utterances, pause, boundary tones and mean duration of intonation final syllables among the 3 groups(transgenders, normal males and normal females).

Draw textured yarns have many differences with yarn quality as well as wearing, due to the bulkiness, thermal and physical properties according to the false twist texturing system. In order to improve such property, many studies have been accomplished for developing good textured yarns and their fabrics, but these have been essentially obtained by experimental data or mathematical analysis. This study surveyed various properties of DTY produced by false twist texturing system, namely pin and crossed-belt false twist insertion systems. And 6 yarn specimens of 2 group(pin twisting type, belt twisting type) were measured and analysed.
