  • In this paper, we propose new method for denoising in processing the image compression. Usually, to compress the noise image, we must have the denoising step before encoding. But this method has a embedded character, so need not an additional noise eliminator. In SAQ step, an embedded signal is quantized more detail and the other side is suppressed. Comparing with the conventional method, we can get the enhanced image quality.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the optimization processing on expanded tube using Taguchi method which was generally used to analyze the effects of various control factors. Mini-Tab is a good for program that is making a selection using Taguchi method. The results of experimental test and analysis are as follows. Optimization processing on a expanded tube is dependent on lubrication condition. The slight eccentricity of expanded tube was obtained a good results on the expanded tube. When expending processing on the expanded tube was performed, the test specimens were almost unaffected by changing pressure loading. The tendencies of test results were related to lubrication condition and eccentricity in expending processing. As a result, a proper lubrication condition and eccentricity in the step of design will improve the optimization processing of expanded tube.

  • An efficient modeling and management of a large amount of surface data for a wide rage of geographic information play an important role in determining the functionality of 3D geographic information system. It has been put many efforts to design and manage an effective way to enhence the manipulation of the data by considering geometry type and data structures. Recently, DEM(Data Elevation Model) and TIN(Triangulated Irregular Network) are used for representing surface data. In this paper, we propose a 3D data processing method. The method utilizes the major properties of DEM and TIN, respectively. Furthermore, by approximating DEM with a TIN of an appropriate resolution, we can support a fast and realistic surface modeling. We implement the structure with the following 4 level stages. The first is an optimal resolution of DEM which represent all of wide range of geographic data. The second is the full resolution DEM which is a subarea of original data generated by user's selection in our implemeatation. The third is the TIN approximation of this data with a proper resolution determined by the relative position with the camera. And the last step is multi-resolution TIN data whose resolution is dynamically decided by considering which direction user take notice currently. Specially, the TIN of the last step is designed for realtime camera navigation. By using the structure we implemented realtime surface clipping, efficient approximation of height field and the locally detailed surface LOD(Level of Detail). We used the initial 10-meter sampling DEM data of Seoul, KOREA and implement the structure to the 3D Virtual GIS based on the Internet.

  • For given 3D geographic data which is usually of DEM(Data Elevation Model) format, we have to represent and manipulate the data in various ways. For example, we have to draw a part of them in drawing canvas. To do this we give users a way of selecting area they want to visualize. And we have to give a base tool for users to select the local area which can be chosen for some geographic operation. In this paper, we propose a 3D data processing method for representation and manipulation. The method utilizes the major properties of DEM and TIN(Triangular Irregular Network), respectively. Furthermore, by approximating DEM with a TIN of an appropriate resolution, we can support a fast and realistic surface modeling. We implement the structure with the following 4 level stages. • Most text data collected through web scraping for artificial intelligence and big data analysis is generally large and unstructured, so a purification process is required for big data analysis. The process becomes structured data that can be analyzed through a heuristic pre-processing refining step and a post-processing machine refining step. Therefore, in this study, in the post-processing machine refining process, the Korean dictionary and the stopword dictionary are used to extract vocabularies for frequency analysis for word cloud analysis. In this process, "user-defined stopwords" are used to efficiently remove stopwords that were not removed. We propose a methodology for applying the "thesaurus" and examine the pros and cons of the proposed refining method through a case analysis using the "user-defined stop word thesaurus" technique proposed to complement the problems of the existing "stop word dictionary" method with R's word cloud technique. We present comparative verification and suggest the effectiveness of practical application of the proposed methodology.

  • As pact of a long-ranged project that aims at establishing database-theoretic semantics as a model of computational semantics, this presentation focuses on the development of a syntactic component for processing strings of words or sentences to construct semantic data structures. For design arid modeling purposes, the present treatment will be restricted to the analysis of some problematic constructions of Korean involving semi-free word order, conjunction arid temporal anchoring, and adnominal modification and antecedent binding. The present work heavily relies on Hausser's (1999, 2000) SLIM theory for language that is based on surface compositionality, time-linearity arid two other conditions on natural language processing. Time-linear syntax for natural language has been shown to be conceptually simple and computationally efficient. The associated semantics is complex, however, because it must deal with situated language involving interactive multi-agents. Nevertheless, by processing input word strings in a time-linear mode, the syntax cart incrementally construct the necessary semantic structures for relevant queries and valid inferences. The fragment of Korean syntax will be implemented in Malaga, a C-type implementation language that was enriched for both programming and debugging purposes arid that was particluarly made suitable for implementing in Left-Associative Grammar. This presentation will show how the system of syntactic rules with constraining subrules processes Korean sentences in a step-by-step time-linear manner to incrementally construct semantic data structures that mainly specify relations with their argument, temporal, and binding structures.

  • A novel 4-way pipelined processing architecture is presented for three-step search block-matching motion estimation. For the 4-way pipelined processing, we have developed a method which divides the current block and search area into 4 subregions respectively and processes them concurrently. Also, we have developed memory partitioning method to access pixel data from 4 subregions concurrently without memory conflict. The architecture has been designed and simulated with C language and VHDL. Experimental results show that the proposed architecture achieves a high performance for real time motion estimation.

  • Isoprenoids represent the most diverse group of metabolites, which are functionally and structurally identified in plant organism to date. Ginsenosides, glycosylated triterpenes, are considered to be the major pharmaceutically active ingredient of ginseng. Its backbones, categorized as protopanaxadiol (PPD), protopanaxatriol (PPT), and oleanane saponin, are synthesized via the isoprenoid pathway by cyclization of 2,3-oxidosqualene mediated with dammarenediol synthase or beta-amyrin synthase. The rate-limiting 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase (HMGR), which is the first committed step enzyme catalyzes the cytoplasmic mevalonate (MVA) pathway for isoprenoid biosynthesis. DXP reductoisomerese (DXR), yields 2-C-methyl-D-erythritol 4-phosphate (MEP), is partly involved in isoprenoid biosynthesis via plastid. Squalene synthase and squalene epoxidase are involved right before the cyclization step. The triterpene backbone then undergoes various modifications, such as oxidation, substitution, and glycosylation. Here we will discuss general biosynthesis pathway for the production of ginsenoside and its modification based on their subcellular biological functions.

  • Noise removal of document images is a necessary step during preprocessing to recognize characters effectively because it has influences greatly on processing speed and performance for character recognition. We have considered using the spatial filters such as traditional mean filters and Gaussian filters, and wavelet transformed based methods for noise deduction in natural images. However, these methods are not effective for the noise removal of document images. In this paper, we present noise removal of document images using support vector regression. The proposed approach consists of two steps which are SVR training step and SVR test step. We construct an optimal prediction model using grid search with cross-validation in SVR training step, and then apply it to noisy images to remove noises in test step. We evaluate our SVR based method both quantitatively and qualitatively for noise removal in Korean, English and Chinese character documents, and compare it to some existing methods. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method is more effective and can get satisfactory removal results.
