A Study on the 'Level of Information' in BIM-based Design Process (BIM 기반 설계프로세스의 단계별 정보 수준에 관한 연구)

  • The study presents the way to maximize the functionality and the effectiveness of the BIM model, and the type of information used in the overall process of construction projects. If the designing process is the generator of architecture information, then the step-by-step BIM model created in the process is the container for formation and property information. BIM written rules and methods are proposed in order for the architectural BIM model structured in the early stages of designing to go through a process of review and collaboration, and to be seamlessly linked to the basic designing steps. Accordingly, the BIM model construction and operation strategy suggested will substantially reduce the work of designing, structuring, and collaborating, that will be shared and linked.

An Efficient Anchor Range Extracting Algorithm for The Unit Structuring of News Data (뉴스 정보의 단위 구조화를 위한 효율적인 앵커구간 추출 알고리즘)

  • This paper proposes an efficient algorithm extracting anchor ranges that exist in news video for the unit structuring of news. To this purpose, this paper uses anchors face in the frame rather than the cuts where the scene changes are occurred. In anchor range, we find the end position (frame) of anchor range with the FRFD(Face Region Frame Difference). On the other hand, in not-anchor range, we find the start position of anchor range by extracting anchors face. The process of extracting anchors face is consists of two parts to enhance the computation time for WPEG decoding. The first pact is to find candidates of anchors face through rough analysis with partial decoding MPEG and the second part is to verify candidates of anchors face with fully decoding. It is possible to use the result of this process in basic step of news analysis. Especially, the fast processing and the high recall rate of this process are suitable to apply for the real news service.

  • The hot embossing process has been mentioned as one of major nanoreplication techniques. This is due to its simple process, low cost, high replication fidelity and relatively high throughput. As the initial step of quantitating the embossing process , simple parametric study about embossing time have been carried out using high-resolution masters which patterned by the DRIE process and laser machining. Under the various embossing time, the viscous flow of thin PMMA films into microcavities during compression force has been investigated. Also, a study about simulating the viscous flow during embossing process has planned and continuum scale FDM analysis was applied on this simulation. With currently available test data and condition, simple FDM analysis using FLOW3D was made attempt to match simulation and experiment.

  • Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a broad field of professional practice, which involves specialists from different disciplines including but not limited to engineers, occupational health physicians, physical and biological scientists, economists, and statisticians. The preventive systems required to ensure workers are protected from injuries and illnesses dwell heavily on engineers; however, the extent to which the engineer can go regarding planning and implementing preventive measures is dependent on specific legal requirements, leadership commitment from the company, organization, and nation. The objective of this paper is to identify the areas of opportunities for improvements in OHS management in Ghana with regard to the nation's legal requirements, commitment of the Ghana government, and Ghanaian leadership as well as appropriate structuring of Ghanaian institutions responsible for monitoring and managing OHS in Ghana. This paper identified Ghana's fragmented legal requirements concerning OHS, which are under different jurisdictions with unclear responsibilities and accountabilities. The paper also highlights the training needs of Ghanaian academic institutions regarding OHS. Among other recommendations made including structuring of Ghanaian institutions to manage OHS in line with the ILO-OSH 2001, this paper aligns the recommendations with the articles and elements of International Labour Organization convention number 155 and OHSAS 18001 elements.

  • A quantitative relationship between Leidenfrost point and surface characteristics such as surface material and roughness is investigated. Based on the relationship, we have fabricated the surfaces with their Leidenfrost points (LFP) tuned by controlling surface coating and structures. As discovered by Leidenfrost, liquids placed on a hot plate levitate on the gas phase-air gap formed by the vaporization of liquids. This phenomenon is called 'Leidenfrost effect'. A change of LFP has attracted many researchers for several years but the ability to tune LFP is still a remaining issue. Many of previous work has progressed for various conditions so the systematic approach and analysis are needed to clearly correlate the LFP and the surface conditions. In this report, we investigate a relation of surface energy and LFP using various coating materials such as Octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS) and 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-Perfluorooctyltrichlorosilane (FOTS). Also, we analyze how surface roughness affects LFP via surface micro structuring with ICP-RIE fabrication process. The improved understanding can have potential applications such as the control of liquid droplet behavior at elevated temperatures for efficient cooling system.

  • We suggest how to use DSS(Decision Support System) as one alternative way of taking advantage of IT in order to develop and maintain Knowledge-Intensive Organization. As organizations support decision making by structuring decision making process, each organization should share implicit knowledge with each member and convert it into explicit one through structuring and synthesizing. Also we show that knowledge management system, which has not been efficiently applied to organization until now, could be used by DSS. Though there are not many cases of successful use of KMS benifits to provide such functions as share, synthesize and solve with organization, it is expected to use DSS frequently by adopting these If methods for achieving and maintaining Knowledge-Intensive Organization.

  • We propose the software framework construction method that increases reusability through use case extraction and structuring of software system's dynamic behavior of which identifying behavior patterns from software domain models. Most behavior models do not provide a consistent modeling technique for harmonizing user's heterogeneous requirements, and not yet prepared to a detailed optimizing technique for redevelopment and maintenance. Therefore, we need a software reuse framework to support consistency and reusability of existing development models using use cases with functional characteristics. a lattice model is used to this approach for structuring use cases, and the reuse process that can be driven to reusable components is introduced in this paper,.

  • The LDS(Laser Direct Structuring) process uses thermoplastic polymers with a additive compound that serves as plating seed after the activation by laser. It can realize industry requirement such as miniaturization of electrical component, design flexibility and reduction of production steps. The purpose of this study is to introduce LDS, and to investigate the fundamental mechanism. Also the characteristics of conductive patterns were investigated with respect to laser fluence and intensity. We have used a pulsed fiber laser (wavelength : 1064nm) and copper electroless plating to fabricate conductive patterns. The result showed that laser induced metal-organic complex was caused metalization by electroless copper plating, the critical laser fluence was $1.41\;J/cm^2$ at a scan speed of 1 m/s.

  • A triple-band antenna was developed and fabricated by LDS(Laser Direct Structuring) process. The effects of the plating rate and heat treatment condition were investigated and the gains of fabricated antennas were measured at various frequencies. The laser irradiated surface shows clearly that there are prominence and depression. It shows anchoring effect between a plating material and ablation surface. The plating rate was decreased when the plating material is exhausted in the solution. This solution needs to refreshed by the new aid solution. The copper plating thickness is decreased with the increase of heat treatment temperature in the same time but it does not change other condition. The gain of LDS antenna showed higher than the generally processed antenna. This result was related with practical use of the dimension and effective dielectric constant.

  • A four beam interference optical system for laser micro structuring using a pulse laser was demonstrated. The four beam interference optical system using a pulse laser(picosecond laser) can fabricate micro structure on mold material(NAK80) directly. Micro structure on the polymer can be reproduced economically by injection molding of the micro structure on the mold material. The four beam interference optical system was composed by the DOE(Diffractive Optical Element) and two lenses. The laser intensity distribution of four beam interference was explained by an interference optics point of view and by the image optics point of view. We revealed that both views showed the same result. The laser power distribution of a $1{\mu}m$ peak pattern was made by the four beam interference optical system and measured by the objective lens and CCD. A $1{\mu}m$ pitch dot pattern on the mold material was fabricated and measured by SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopy).
