In highschool probability education, this study analyzed conflicts between intuitive concept and formal definition which originates from the process of establishing the concept of statistical independence. In judging independence, completely different types of problems requiring their own approach was analyzed by dividing them into two types. By doing so, this study researched a way to view independence as an overall idea. That is purposed to suggest a solution to a conflicts between intuitive concept and formal definition and to help not to judge independence out of wrong intuition. This study also suggests that calculation process which leads to precise perception of sample space and event be provided when we prove independence by expressing events with assembly symbols.

Meantime there has been a tendency to keep silent about the role of Afro-Ibero America Diaspora which contributed to the spirit of independence and the realization of country foundation ideology in the official history of Latin America. In some countries, although the collective resistance of Afro-Ibero America Diaspora, which intended to establish a liberal and equal society resisting against slavery and colonization system, was the foundation of independence and the establishment of a new country, their contribution has been difficult to leave an official trace in Caucasian criollo-centered history system. Along with the development of Hcienda in 17th Century, black slaves' collective resistance was developed mainly with el Virreinato de la Nueva Granada, the center of the Independence movement of Brazil and South America. The black people who escaped resisting against slavery formed communities and developed organized activities through various politics and social activities. However, such communities were mostly dispersed or destroyed by the colonial power, and the collective resistance of Afro-Ibero America Diaspora lost life. On the other side, in case of Colombia, a community of escaped black slaves which was formed in the early 17th Century is solely remaining in Latin America, moreover, Afro-Ibero America Diaspora's struggle for liberty and equality became the foundation for Comuneros revolution and Independence movement in the late 18th Century. Comuneros revolution which occurred in 1781 awoke self-awareness of liberty and equality, and became an ideological base for independence movement based on revolutional republicanism and philosophy of enlightenment. It is considered that South America's independence movement lead by $Sim{\acute{o}}n$ Boívar was a history that could not have started without historical base of Afro-Ibero America Diaspora's resistance against colonization system. Therefore, this study intends to discuss the role and achievement of Afro-Ibero America Diaspora in the process of independence of Latin America mainly with Colombia, which is the center of Independence movement of South America. Through this process, this study intends to revaluate historical contribution of Afro-Ibero America which has been relatively neglected meanwhile in the process of independence and the establishment of country.

This paper considers the independence test for two stationary infinite order autoregressive processes. For a test, we follow the empirical process method devised by Hoeffding (1948) and Blum, Kiefer and Rosenblatt (1961), and construct the Cram${\acute{e}}$r-von Mises type test statistics based on the least squares residuals. It is shown that the proposed test statistics behave asymptotically the same as those based on true errors.

The ever-growing demand for enhanced competitiveness of engineered systems require designing in quality strategies that can efficiently incorporate multiple design attributes into a system. In a robust design, there must be consideration for any uncontrollable factors that should not be disregarded in the design process. Studies on multi-attribute design challenges usually assume mutual utility independence amongst the design attributes. However, mutual utility independence does not exist in every design situation. In this study, a new robust design methodology that has two utility-dependent attributes are presented. The proposed method was then compared with a traditional robust design that utilizes a wave soldering process design. The results of this case study indicate that the proposed method yields a better solution than the traditional method.

Uncertainty appears not only in real quantities but also in complex quantities. Complex uncertain process is essentially a sequence of complex uncertain variables indexed by time. In order to describe complex uncertain process, a formal definition of complex uncertain distribution is given in this paper, as well as the concepts of independence and variance. In addition, some properties of complex uncertain integral are presented.

We propose a test for independence of bivariate censored data under univariate censorship. To do this, we first introduce a process defined by the difference between bivariate survival function estimator proposed by Lin and Ying (1993) and the product of the product-limit estimators (Kaplan and Meier, 1958) for the marginal survival functions, and derive its asymptotic properties under the null hypothesis of independence. We propose a Cramer-von Mises-type test procedure based on the process . We conduct simulation studies to investigate the finite-sample performance of the proposed test and illustrate the proposed test with a real example.

본 연구는 대학생 250명을 대상으로 장독립-장의존 인지양식이 정보탐색행위에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 장독립-장의존 인지양식은 집단잠입도형검사(GEFT: Group Embedded Figure Test)로 검사하였으며, 정보탐색행위는 정보탐색 수행평가와 설문조사의 방법으로 조사하였다. 분석 결과, 장독립-장의존 인지양식은 본 연구에서 설정한 항목들 중에서 한 개의 항목을 제외하고는 전부 정보탐색 수행평가의 항목에 영향을 미친 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 인지과정 도중에 작용하는 인지적 특성인 인지양식은 정보를 탐색하는 실제적인 행위에 영향을 미쳤다고 할 수 있다. 그리고 장독립-장의존 인지양식은 정보탐색행위의 영역적인 면에서는 탐색결과와 일반적인 정보탐색행위를 제외하고, 탐색과정에만 영향을 미쳤다. 그러므로 정보탐색행위의 탐색 과정적 영역에서는 인지양식의 연구가 효율적이라고 할 수 있다.

A discourse on the Independence Hall of Korea, a representative cultural project of the 1980s, has been understood as a repetition of the traditional debate of the 1960s. It was considered as a petrified propaganda aimed at ensuring the fragile legitimacy of the military regime, and the architect as a sympathizer. Even if all these facts are true, it does not give any explanation for the architecture. Scrutinizing the building process and the change of discourse in the Independence Hall of Korea, this paper tries to explore a section of contemporary Korean architecture in the 1980s. The architect who designed the Independence Hall of Korea is Kim Kiwoong, however, it was Kim Won who took charge of overall scheme for it. Kim Won replaced the role of a technocrat in the 1960s, who deprived architects of his autonomy. Against this backdrop, Kim Kiwoong attempted to explain his own building via various concept like postmodernism, which gave him very proper context. But, later, he appropriated words like void and madang. These derived from some architectural historian's researches in 1970s, and were to predict the architecture of the 1990s.

the covariance process of two martingales provides a useful tool to capture the dependence structure for paired censored data. in this paper it is applied to modify the variances of weighted logrank tests in order to take account of dependence between paired subjects. In the process of modification a 'variance correction term' is introduced. Some variance estimators based on separate samples are considered together. Performance of the estimators are compared through simulation studies. Several independence tests for bivariate sruvival date are also proposed which are naturally reduced from the weighted logrank tests accomodating dependence structure. Simulation studies are carried out to compare the independence tests. Both the weighted logrank tests and the independence tests are illustrated by an example.

Main starting valve is one of the main parts in the control system of diesel engines, purposed for starting main engines. It is composed of ball valve, check valve, actuator, etc. The design axioms provide a general framework for design methodology. Two axioms are independence axiom and information axiom. These axioms can be applied to all design process in a general way. The first axiom is introduced to analyze and evaluate the design of a main starting valve. The design parameters(DPS) are determined sequentially by considering the independence axiom. For the structural design of a main starting valve, the strength is calculated by using finite element method. In addition, the strength of its actuator piston is evaluated.
