지반의 불균질성, 토질상수의 측정에 연관된 오차. 압밀이론의 단점 등으로 예측된 압밀침하량 및 시간은 항상 실측치와 잘 일치하지 않게 된다. 압축성 지반 위에 성토가 이루어질 때, 최종 침하량과 압밀시간을 예측하기 위한 예측기법은 실무에서 유용한 수단이다. 그러나, 기존의 예측기법들에 의한 침하곡선에서 직선을 찾기가 어렵거나, 개인오차를 피할 수 없는 등의 단점을 내포하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 새로운 예측기법($\sqrt{s}$법)으로 현장에서 압밀해석을 수행하기 위하여 제안되었다. 두 현장에 대하여 $\sqrt{s}$-법과 함께 다른 기존의 방법들을 적용한 결과, $\sqrt{s}$법과 Asaoka법에 의해 예측된 최종침하량은 실측치와 좋은 일치를 보여주었으나, 쌍곡선법(Tan, 1991)에서는 항상 과대평가된 결과를 또한 Hoshino 법에서는 많은 경우에 예측이 불가한 결과를 보여주었다.$\sqrt{s}$- 법에 의한 침하곡 선상에서 평균압밀도가 60%와 90% 사이에서 직선을 나타내고 있어서 개인오차를 유발할 가능성이 희박하였다. $\sqrt{s}$- 법에 의하여 예측된 최종압밀시간은 실측치와 잘 일치하고 있는 반면에 Asaoka 와 Tan(1996) 방법에 의한 결과는 아주 과소평가되거나 과대평가되었다. 이러한 이유는 후자의 두 방법에서 단계성토의 영향이 고려되지 못했기 때문인 것으로 사료된다.

Background and Objectives : Arytenoid adduction procedure is one of the main surgical options addressed for the correction of glottal incompetence in patients with unilateral vocal cord paralysis. Traditionally, a midline approach is used for identifying and suturing around the muscular process, which often needs over-traction of the thyroid cartilage and results in patient's discomfort as well as surgeon's distress. The authors investigated the advantage of a modified procedure, lateral approach, in which the arytenoid cartilage is exposed through the space between strap muscles and sternocleidomastoid muscle. Materials and Methods : Retrospective chart review was performed for 66 patients who received arytenoid adduction surgery at Samsung Medical Center, between the year 1997 and 2014. Operation time, types of anesthesia, voice outcomes and complications were compared between the midline (n=22) and the lateral (n=44) approach group. Results : Operation time was shorter in the lateral approach group ($125{\pm}24min$) than in the midline group ($144{\pm}24min$). Arytenoid adduction was proceeded under local anesthesia in 66% (n=29/44) and 14% (n=3/22) of patients with lateral and midline approach group, respectively. Voice outcomes and complication rates were comparable between the two groups. Injection laryngoplasty in conjunction with arytenoid adduction resulted in more favorable voice outcomes. Conclusion : A lateral approach for the arytenoid adduction procedure showed comparable voice outcomes and similar complication rates with those of a midline approach. However, lateral approach provided less discomfort to the patients and less distress to a surgeon, and therefore, shorter operation time was needed and local anesthesia could be more frequently applied for this modified procedure.

최근 상용 DBMS 시장은 고가의 라이선스 정책과 신속하지 않은 기술 지원 서비스 등에 대한 사용자들의 부담과 불만이 커지면서, 호환성이나 안정성에 문제가 없는 오픈소스 DBMS의 사용에 대한 관심이 확대되고 있다. 이로 인해 DBMS 시장의 약 60% 점유율을 갖고 있는 오라클사 기반의 응용프로그램을 오픈소스 기반의 DBMS로 전환하여 비용을 절감하는 사례가 많아지고 있다. 그러나 오라클사에서 제공하는 PL/SQL의 사용으로 인한 비호환적 문장을 오픈소스 DBMS로 전환 시, 많은 수작업을 동반하게 되어 시간 및 비용 손실이 크다. 따라서 PL/SQL을 표준 SQL로 자동 전환해주는 도구가 요구된다. 제안하는 응용프로그램 전환을 위한 자동화 도구는 PL/SQL을 ANSI 표준 프로그래밍 언어인 Java SP (Stored Procedure)로 전환한다. 자동화 도구 테스트 실행을 통해 입출력 데이터의 동일성을 확인하고, 발생하는 Java SP 전환 오류 수정으로 신뢰성을 검증하여 응용프로그램 전환의 시간과 비용 절감에 기여할 수 있다는 것을 확인했다.

In this paper, we present a algebraic technique for computing system reliability for complex system. The method was originally developed as an aid to fault tree analysis but it applies to general problems of reliability assessment. A success expression which directly gives the reliability expression is formed and simplified by the procedure. Several algorithms and examples are illustrated.

Three approximation methods for generating outcomes on Poisson random variables are discussed. A comparison is made to determine which method requires the least computer execution time and to determine which is the most robust approximation. Results of the comparison study suggest the method to choose for the generating procedure depends on the mean value of Poisson random variable which is being generated.

A new procedure is presented for optimally placing closed-loop poles of multivariable continuous-time systems in specified regions via linear-quadratic(LQ) state-feedback design. This method has the advantages of pole-placement and LQ-design. In addition, it provides minimum feedback gains in the control law.

A new technique of photographic observations is developed for the determination of time of minimum light of eclipsing binary. An instrumental system to accomplish the observation is described. With this instrument the atmospheric extinction coefficients in Seoul are observed, and four times of minimum light for Algol and W UMa are determined.
