  • All things considered, cataloging rules of every nations in the world had been revised or attempt to revise according to the ISBD cataloging method. This is a general tendency of cataloging rules in nowadays. But, for the application to ISBD cataloging method to in the cataloging rules for oriental classics, there are many bottleneck because special articles of bibliography in the oriental classics frequently appeared, the special article has been recorded to suitably location in the body of entry. If special articles have apply to ISBD cataloging method, it must given to peculiar mark in the every articles. Representative examples are location for entry to material form of printed letter and form of printed book. Generally, material form of printed letter have been recorded in the article of edition, form of printed book have been recorded in the article of collation. But, as these method have not regulated in the general cataloging rules of Korea, material form of printed letter and form of printed book articles must record in article of note for application to ISBD cataloging method. If that happens, fundamentally problems which have been hotly debated in cataloging rules for oriental classics will be naturally solve. In the edded, I was presented the solution method of accompanying problems in this thesis.

  • The primary purpose of this study is to compare a specific characteristic of Ulhacha -printed books with Imitating Ulhacha-printed books to distinguish from each others. Ulhacha was made in the first year of King Secho (1455) used before Hideyoshi's Invasion of Korea in 1592, there are many kinds books printed with it. For this reason, Ulhacha used to printed books for long period, the letters were worn down and must be filled up with su n.0, pplementary letters during the reign of King Chungchong and Myungchong. And at the early times of King Suncho, Many letters were su n.0, pplement and printed many kinds of books very neatly. Ulhacha-printed books were classified four sorts of books according to its characteristic to examine closely. From the latter half of the 16th century, the beginning of King Suncho, what is called Imitating Ulhacha-printed book, many copies of book were printed off imitated with Ulhacha. Imitating Ulhacha-printed books also classified four kinds of books according to its characteristic. Being glance at imitated letters, they were similar to Ulhacha and confused one thing with another. To distinguish Ulhacha-printed books from imitated letter ones, it is important to discriminate each others. Generally speaking, imitating Ulhacha letters were resemblant Ulhacha closely, it is not easy to distinguish Ulhascha from imitated letter. But they have a tendency to exhibit more thin style than Ulhacha and different from its size. Out of Ulhacha-printed books, the big letters in Hunsa printed in the 7th years of reign of King Secho and Hangulcha in Kumgang panya paramil kyong samgahae printed in the 13th years of the reign of King Sung chong come in to question. Nevertheless the big letters in Hunsa is consider to be that of Ulhacha and Hangucha in Kumgang panya paramil kyong samgahae also to be Ulhacha mixed with Hang lcha, disagreement of opinions has been opted to give rise to problem. In order to verify such a problem, it is more convenient to use OHP film copied those letters than the naked eyes. As a result of collating with OHP film, the problem was proven to be above-mentioned.

  • Since mobile phones are used as common communication devices, their applications are increasingly important to human's life. Using smart-phones camera to collect daily life environment's information is one of targets for many applications such as text recognition, object recognition or context awareness. Studies have been conducted to provide important information through the recognition of texts, which are artificially or naturally included in images and movies acquired from mobile phones. In this study, a character segmentation method that improves character-recognition accuracy in images obtained from mobile phone cameras is proposed. The proposed method first classifies texts in a given image to printed letters and handwritten letters since segmentation approaches for them are different. For printed letters, rough segmentation process is conducted, then the segmented regions are integrated, deleted, and re-segmented. Segmentation for the handwritten letters is performed after skews are corrected and the characters are classified by integrating them. The experimental result shows our method achieves a successful performance for both printed and handwritten letters as 95.9% and 84.7%, respectively.

  • This study examined the relative importance and the most preferred level of factors which were identified through the readability researchs. For this. subjects were given a text constructed in usual letter width with square form letter or non-square form and then. ranked the preference between the text factors. In experiment 1 where a text was printed in square letters. letter size was rated as the most important factor followed by line spacing letter width, line length, letter spacing, line justification, and letter form. But when non-square letters were used in experiment 2. the second most important factor was the letter spacing although letter size still topped the list. These findings indicate the differences in letter designing principles for various types and the unfamiliarity to non-square letter forms for general public. Unlike inYi and Jin(1998) where letter width turned out to be the most sensitive factor, the highest priority should be given to letter size when publishing with usual letter width.

  • This paper attempts to analyize struture of the Letters for the Purpose of makin grecognition of Han-Gelul printed and described the method of recogniton and design of the optimum system. For the reason of the Consistency of Han-Geul (korean letters) combined with Consonants and vouels, the number of the words used in the daily living is about 2,000words. for this reason the composition of the recognition system is complicated, and therfore, this paper is pursued to recearch to handle the separate way ineach form of Letter between consonant and vouel. and the further description of this paper also indicates us the many parts of savings of elements when the character is extracted as logic system in letter composition.

  • In this paper, we propose a Hangul character recognition method in which new letter components as recognition units are introduced and the MLP (multilayer perceptrons) neural networks are employed for two-step recognition of Hangul. To recognize Hangul character, we divide it into two or three recognition units and extract the direction angle features of them to be fed to the corresponding neural network recognizers. The recognition results of neural network recognizers are combined by another neural network. The experiments were conducted on the Hangul characters from real letter envelopes which are collected in the mail centers in Korea and the results showed that our method performs better than the conventional one.

  • The language is one of the most important inventions in the human society, and it can be preserved as a form of book which is printed or written by letters. So, the language and letter can be basic factors in the library as communication media. Moreover, when we regard all of library activities as a communication, the study of the language and letter which is the origin of communication media can be a good research method of library history. For this reason, the present study deals with formation of three representative ancient letters, i.e. Hieroglyph, Cuneiform Script, and Chinese character with their relations.

  • In this letter, a compact and fully printed composite right- and left-handed (CRLH) dual-band power divider is proposed. The branches of the conventional Wilkinson power divider are replaced by subwavelength CRLH phase-shift lines having $+90^{\circ}$ for one frequency and $-90^{\circ}$ for another frequency for dual-band and miniaturization performance. Equations are derived for the even- and odd-mode analysis combined with the dual-band CRLH circuit. A PCS and a WLAN band are chosen as the test case and the circuit approach agrees with the CAD simulation and the measurement. Additionally, the CRLH property is shown with the dispersion diagram and the eightfold size reduction is noted.

  • A switchable Yagi-Uda antenna prototype with radiation pattern reconfiguration is presented in this letter. The proposed reconfigurable antenna is based on the concept of switching between the reflector and director of a Yagi-Uda antenna using a radio frequency PIN diode. As a result, the minimum/maximum radiation can be steered towards desired signals or away from interfering signals in opposite directions. The measured 10 dB impedance bandwidth and gain are 210 MHz (7%) and 8.02 dBi at 3 GHz, respectively. Details of the antenna design and its performance are described and empirically analyzed.

  • Generally, disabled people have a lot of bad health status at low income levels, the need for health care is higher than for non-disabled people. Although the number of persons with disabilities is increasing with each passing year, their medical services and support are still limited and limited. This problem is not so different from approach to medical information. Conventional medical information is usually printed and transmitted to the patient, but visually impaired people have difficulty accessing such printed information. In the case of the visually impaired, there are many cases where it is not possible to read not only the printed letter but also the braille because the acquired incidence is high. Therefore, this paper tried to solve this problem by transmitting the information of medicine by voice using RFID. In addition, ontology was used to select more accurate drug information. Currently, there are drug information sites provided by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. However, since duplicate information is scattered on these sites, the ontology was used to build up the database.
