  • This paper presents development of a vehicle lateral and longitudinal control for autonomous driving control and test results obtained using an electric vehicle. Sliding control theory has been used to develop a vehicle speed and distance control algorithm. The longitudinal control algorithm that maintains safety and comfort of the vehicle consists of a cruise and STOP&GO control depending on traffic conditions. Desired steering angle is determined through the lateral position error and the yaw angle error based on preview optimal control. Motor control inputs have been directly derived from the sliding control law. The performance of the autonomous driving control which is integrated with a lateral and longitudinal control is investigated by computer simulations and driving test using an electric vehicle.   • The role of suspension system in tracked vehicles cannot be overestimated because the driving and running conditions of such vehicles are very severe. It reduces the vibration and shock which are generated by road profile in running condition. As the tracked vehicle's running speed increases, more undesired vibrations can be generated by road profile particularly in the situation of field running. Because, the excessive vibration can harm the operation ability of crewmen and stability of complex equipments, the maximum running speed is limited.   • 로보트 매니퓰레이터가 일정한 접촉 힘을 유지하며 공작물의 표면을 따라가게 하는 작업은 많은 자동화 생산공정에서 유용하게 이용될 수 있다. 일반적인 위치제어용 산업용 로보트를 이러한 공정에 사용하기 위해서는 접촉힘이 계측되어 로보트의 제어에 이용되어야만 한다. 이 연구는 accommodation force control 방식으로 산업용 로보트를 제어하여 edge-following에 응용하도록하며, 접촉 힘의 계측에는 wrist force sensor를 사용한다. 이 시스템의 궤도추적속도와 force regulation 등이 예견제어에 의해 향상될 수 있다. 예견제어에 의해 설계된 전체 제어 시스템은 feedback 제어기와 feedforward 예견제어기로 구성된다. 여기서, 시스템의 안정성은 feedback 제어기에 의해서 결정되며, 예견제어기는 시스템에 미치는 외란을 통제하는 것을 주 기능으로 한다. 일반적으로 선형제어 방식을 채택한 경우와 예견제어를 이용한 edge-following을 실험을 통해 비교함으로써, 예견제어의 효용성을 확인한다.

  • A fuzzy driver model based on a preview-predictor and yaw rate is developed. The model is used to investigate the handling performance of two wheel steering system(2WS) and four wheel steering system(4WS) vehicles. The two degree-of- freedom model which has yaw and lateral motion predicts the path of the vehicles. Based upon the yaw rate and lateral deviations, the fuzzy engine describes the human driver's complicated control behavior which is adjusted for the driving environment. Both typical single lane change maneuver and double lane change maneuver are adopted to demonstrate the feasibility of fuzzy driver model.

  • An experimental study was made to examine the effects of the uncertainty of objectives-presentation using two-handle and joystick on the predictive, precognitive and preview manual tracking systems (pursuit tracking system). The task had two factors of difficulty, a locational and a temporal uncertainty, chosen to be perceptibly more difficult having a high presentation rate. Six male subjects were required to perform the experiments. It was obtained from the results of the experiments that the preview manual tracking system is better than the other systems and the performance decrement doesn't appear.

  • When it comes to commercial vehicles, their unique characteristics - center of gravity, size, weight distribution - make them particularly vulnerable to rollover. On top of that, conventional heavy vehicle brake exhibits longer actuation delays caused in part by long air lines from brake pedal to tires. This paper describes rollover prevention algorithm that copes with the characteristics of commercial vehicles. In regard of compensating for high actuating delay, predicted rollover index with short preview time has been designed. Moreover, predicted rollover index with longer preview time has been calculated by using road curvature information based on environment information. When rollover index becomes larger than specific threshold value, desired braking force is calculated in order to decrease the index. At the same time, braking force is distributed to each tire to make yaw rate track desired value.

  • Music score recognition applications running on a smartphone, which is one of the necessities of modern people, have already been released on the market. These applications have the several limitations, especially the recognition rate of printed music scores is low so that many errors occur when the score is played. The major factor to decrease the recognition rate comes from poor tilt-correction of the captured staff-line. In this paper, we propose a efficient method that can automatically shoot the printed music score through preview analysis, which increases the recognition rate via tilt-correction.

A Study on Video Search Method using the Image map (이미지 맵을 이용한 동영상 검색 제공방법에 관한 연구 - IPTV 환경을 중심으로)

  • Watching a program on IPTV among the numerous choices from the internet requires a burden of searching and browsing for a favorite one. This paper introduces a new concept called Mosaic Map and presents how it provides preview information of image map links to other programs. In Mosaic Map the pixels in the still image are used both as shading the background and as thumbnails which can link up with other programs. This kind of contextualized preview of choices can help IPTV users to associate the image with related programs without making visual saccades between watching IPTV and browsing many choices. The experiments showed that the Mosaic Map reduces the time to complete search and browsing, comparing to the legacy menu and web search.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the present status of the international textile fashion conventions and the Korean textile fashion conventions in order to secure competitiveness in the textile fashion industry and to discover the satisfaction of the convention and to develop an improvement plan of the current textile and fashion conventions in Korea. For the method of study, five representative conventions of domestic and foreign textiles and fashion were selected and case analyses were conducted focusing on relevant reports. Also, the satisfaction and improvement of the conventions for companies, buyers and visitors attending the Preview in Seoul(PIS) convention were surveyed. The first result of the study was that international textile and fashion conventions have clarified their identity according to changes in the market environment and buyer's interest. For example, the professional exhibition changed the nature of the comprehensive convention or made it easier for many related businesses and buyers to attend the convention by sharing the same convention period and location with other conventions. In addition, the convention hall has been constructed to display promising items, such as eco-friendly materials and smart materials. Second, participating companies, buyers and visitors of the Preview in Seoul (PIS) convention were generally satisfied with the convention, but were aware of the need for change. In particular, the satisfaction level with the number and level of new buyers at home and abroad, the number of counseling sessions and the quality level were also found to be low.

  • Currently digital contents such as games, animation and video art are produced and distributed actively. And moreover by the development of related industries, a variety genre of media is in the process of planning and production. However general-purpose tools such as MAYA and Soft Image do not provide the artists in terms of a variety of unique functions. Thus in this study, we analyzed and developed interface technologies that can help effectively in terms of animation scenario writing, storyboard simulation, rendering and pre-production of story board, interface technology for preview. By our designed simulate planning, people who not professional in the field of animation, can produce and preview animation easily.
