  • The purpose of this study was to explore the subjective opinions related to the weight control by using Q-methodology. Forty four adults were selected for P-sample from July to August, 1998. The collected data were analyzed by PC Quanl program. The results were as follows : There were 5 types of the adult's opinions about the weight control. Type I(Concern about weight control) : This type believes that there is a problem with general social attitudes, but the weight control it self is necessary. Type II(Health conscious) : This type believes that good health is very important and weight control is way of maintaining and improving good health. Type III(Obsessive) : This type believes that weight control is absolutely necessary no matter what it takes including extreme dietary change. Type IV(Influence by social pressure) : This type believes that the external stimulation and help is needed to motivate weight control. Type V(Self control) : This type believes that self determination is necessary regardless of social pressure.

  • In this paper, evaluation of physical properties was made for dielectric relaxation phenomena by the detection of the surface pressures and displacements current on the monolayer films of fatty acid monomolecular Arachidic Acid, Stearic Acid using compressing velocity. LB(Langmuir-Blodgett) thin films were manufacture by detecting deposition for the accumulation and the current was measured after the electric bias was applied across the manufactured MIM device. The physicochemical properties of the fatty acid monomolecular Arachidic Acid, Stearic Acid films surface structure has been studied by AFM. We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is gas state, liquid state, solid state. • We investigate the qualities of organic materials by which can manufacture organic thin films for solar cells and make thin films for insulation layers of an insulated cable. We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and detect the induced displacement current. In processing of a device manufacture, We can see the process is good from the change of a surface pressure for organic thin films and transfer ratio of area per molecule. The structure of manufactured device is Au/organic thin films(polyimide)/Au and I-V characteristic of the device is measured from 0[V] to +5[V]. The maximum value of measured current is increased as the number of accumulated layers are decreased. The resistance for the number of accumulated layers, the energy density for an input voltage show desired results, and the insulation of a thin film is better as the interval between electrodes is larger.

  • The azobenzene dendrimer is one of the dendrimeric macromolecules that include the azo-group exhibiting a photochromic character. Due to the presence of the charge transfer element of the azo-group and its rod-shaped structure, these compounds are expected to have potential interest in electronics and photoelectronics, especially in nonlinear optics. In the present paper, we give pressure stimulation to organic thin films and detect the induced displacement current. Functional photoisometrization organic molecular the photo-stimulus to organic monomolecular L films and LB films of dendrimer and SASH were performed. The SASH organic monolayer in case of pressure stimulus occurred that positive course but in case of the photo-stimulus compared positive and negative. It is assumed that generation forms of displacement current were measured when photo-stimulus for impression.

  • We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is 2, 10, 30[mN/m](gas state, liquid state, and solid state). The physicochemical properties of the LB films on the surface of pure water are studied by AFM. Also, we then examined of the Metal-Insulator-Metal(MIM) device by means of I-V.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare Ultra Sound(U-S), Silver Spike Point(SSP) and Electro-Acupuncture(E-A) with each other and to objectively analyze their concrete validities and their effects on the deactivation of trigger points in patients with myofascial pain syndrome, and to provide basic necessary principles for clinical therapists. Sixty patients were randomly distributed into three groups of twenty persons each and the U-S, the SSP and the E-A were applied to each group respectively. Tree pain evaluation methods of VAS(Visual Analogue Scale), Electrical Stimulation Scale and Pressure Algometer were adopted to measure the effectiveness of each therapy. The results were as follows: The U-S and E-A groups demonstrated statistically significant decrease on the VAS. The pain thresholds by Electrical Stimulation Scale method was increased for all the groups of U-S, SSP and E-A with no statistical significance. however, Pressure Algometer method was found to increase the pain thresholds for both SSP and E-A groups with statistically significance. Statistically significant improvement was found for all the groups together after the administration of the U-S, the SSP and the E-A. From the above results, three methods of U-S, SSP and E-A are found to be effective tools for the deactivation of trigger points in patients with upper trapezius muscle of Myofascial Pain Syndrome. The E-A method was found to be the most effective among three methods.

  • Conventional stimulus patterns have used DC for discrimination of acupoint and meridian which is the basic object of diagnosis and medical treatment in oriental medicine. Those discriminate conduction points by stimulation on body skin with DC. But, it is insufficient to reliability in discrimination ratio, coincident ratio, body effect, reproductivity. Therefore, this paper has extracted the optimal parameter of frequency and waveform in order to improve conventional pattern, and proposed the SPAC(Single Power Alternative Current) stimulus pattern applying that. Also, We proposes algorithm which is able to discriminate with low pressure of the electrode by displaying in the level meter both the absolution and relation value of the skin current. It can decrease pain and body effect by electrode pressure and discriminate acupoint regardless of skin current in difficult discrimination spot. We have compared the performance of system applying the extracted optimal parameter and algorithm. We have compared discrimination, coincident ratio of both conduction point and traditional acupoints by acupoint stimulation pattern. In the results, we confirmed reliability of SPAC stimulus pattern.

  • Objectives : The aim of this paper is to develop acupuncture needle heating system by utilizing the new method which uses high frequency(HF) time-varying magnetic field. Also, it is possible to make an assessment for reliability and clinical significance of the system. Methods : We designed the system with solenoid coils for generation of HF time-varying magnetic field that oscillates at 150 kHz. Acupuncture needles are quickly magnetized and heated by 150 kHz. We assessed clinical significance of system, such as body temperature, pressure pulse waveform. Results : Temperature of acupuncture needle increased up to 60 degree. In the result for clinical significance of system, in case of manual acupuncture stimulation(MAS), body temperature change was $0.373^{\circ}C{\pm}0.224$(p<0.05), rate of pulse energy change increased about 7.6%. In case of warm acupuncture stimulation(WAS), body temperature change was $0.645^{\circ}C{\pm}0.281$(p<0.05), rate of pulse energy change remarkably increased about 35.9%. Conclusions : We confirm that the system is able to be applied clinically to various warm acupuncture needle therapy in the area of oriental medicine.

  • This study was conducted to apply microcurrents of $500{\mu}A$ effective for ATP generation to leg muscles to which delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) had been induced in order to examine whether the microcurrent stimulation was effective for gait improvement. Forty subjects were randomly assigned to an experimental group of 20 subjects and a placebo group of 20 subjects. Microcurrents were applied immediately after inducing DOMS and 24 hours and 48 hours thereafter and changes in the center of pressure (COP), cadence, and affected stance phases were measured. According to the results of the measurement, changes in the COP, cadence, and affected stance phases at 48 hours after the induction of DOMS were statistically significant compared to the values before the induction. The COP of the experimental group became statistically significantly lower and the ratio of affected stance phases of the experimental group became statistically significantly higher compared to the placebo group at 48 hours after the induction of DOMS. Therefore, $500{\mu}A$ microcurrents showed effects for gait improvement by promoting the recovery and healing of damaged muscles.
