보정계수를 이용한 지하외벽의 구조설계 (Structural Design of Basement Exterior Wall using Modification Factor)

  • Currently structural design of basement exterior wall is based on the assumption of boundary condition of plate, which may lead to erroneous results. In this study, the behavior of basement exterior wall subject to earth pressure and hydraulic pressure is investigated using linear finite element analysis. Parametric studies are conducted to investigate the variation of moment and shear force according to column-to-wall stiffness and aspect ratios. Using these numerical results, modification factors applicable to the design of basement exterior wall are presented. Design example is illustrated, showing satisfactory results.

Comparison of Adjustments to Drought Stress Among Seedlings of Several Oak Species

  • In order to compare the adjustment of 6 oak species to water stress, the components of water status, tissue elastic modulus, free proline content of leaves and morphological characteristics were determined in pot culture. uercus dentata and . mongolica responded effectively to drought with high root : shoot (R/S) ratio or maintenance of high turgor pressure by large and fast osmotic adjustment and . variabilis with maintenance of high turgor pressure by low elastic modulus under drought. Meanwhile, . aliena and . serrata responded effectively with low omotic potential (Ψo) at full saturation and . acutissima with long root in spite of rigid cell wall and high osmotic potential (Ψo) at full saturation. Proline content in leaves of . dentata, . mongolica and . aliena increased early and rapidly at high leaf water potential (Ψleaf). The results indicate that 6 oak species have adjustment different from each other to water stress.

  • This study investigated the structural performance of the precast prestressed cylinder pipe having cracked under construction. The finite element formulation of PPC pipe incorporates Asoild elements using SAP90 program and the radial prestress force was transformed into the eqivalent external pressure. The analytical results were compared with the experimental results of full scale tests on PPC pipes subjected to static load. It is shown that the proposed modelling gives a realistic represention of the actual behavior. The analytical procedure is used to calculate the stresses in the PPC pipes and to check the crack opening under various situations such as bedding angle, earth pressure, and earth cover. Finally, the proposed modelling and analytical procedure should be especially usefull for the safety assessment of the PPC pipes under general loading conditions.

  • This study was intended to investigate the effects of epoxy grout on compressive strength for damaged concrete structures. For this purpose, concrete molds were manufactured and tested for compressive strength at 28 days after water curing. Two kinds of Korea-made and one Japan-made epoxy grouts were injected into the broken concrete molds with the automatic low-pressure injecting method or the hand injecting method.

  • Particulate matter (PM) is one of the major indoor air pollutants especially in the subway station in Korea. In order to remove PM in the subway station, several kinds of PM removal system such as roll-filter, auto-washable air filter, demister, and electrostatic precipitator are used in the air handling unit (AHU) of subway stations. However, those systems are prone to operation and maintenance problems since the filter-regeneration unit consisting of electrical or water jet parts might malfunction due to the high load of particulates unless the filter medium is periodically replaced. In this study, the use of axial-flow cyclone was proposed for particulate filter unit in the AHU for its low operation and maintenance cost. Novel shape of axial-flow cyclone was designed by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The shape of vortex vane was optimized in terms of pressure drop and tangential velocity. In addition, CFD analysis was validated experimentally through the pressure drop measurement of mock-up model. We found that pressure drop and tangential velocity of fluid through the axia-flow cyclone was significantly affected by the rotating degree of vortex vane and the numerical prediction of pressure drop agreed well with experimental measurement.

정수압이 해양콘크리트의 염화물이온 침투에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Hydrostatic Pressure on Chloride Ion Penetration of Marine Concrete)

  • 해양 콘크리트 구조물 중 침지대에 위치한 구조물은 수심이 10 m 깊어질수록 1 atm의 정수압을 받아 염화물이온 침투가 촉진될 가능성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 정수압이 해양콘크리트의 염화물이온침투에 미치는 영향과 원인을 평가하기 위하여 보통 포틀랜드 시멘트와 고로슬래그 시멘트를 활용한 콘크리트를 각각 1, 6 atm의 정수압과 인공해수에 노출시켜 깊이별 수용성 염화물량과 미세구조 분석을 실시하였다. 측정결과 6 atm의 정수압을 받는 콘크리트는 표면 염화물이온 농도가 급격하게 상승하며, 깊이별 수용성 염화물량이 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 또한, 정수압을 받은 콘크리트는 5~100 nm에 해당하는 모세관공극이 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다.

  • 철근이 부식되면 오염된 콘크리트를 제거하고 철근방식을 하고 보수하는 방법과 방청제를 도포하는 방법으로는 철근위치에서 방청성능을 확보하기가 곤란한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 철근위치까지 방청제를 고압 침투시키기 위한 연구개발에 앞서 방청제 가압 침투 실험을 통하여 침투깊이를 측정하고 위치별 아질산이온의 양을 측정하여 물시멘트비, 압력, 가압시간에 따른 침투깊이 예측하고 우수한 방청성을 가지는 염화물이온과 아질산이온의 몰비 0.6 이상이 되는 물시멘트비와 압력, 가압시간을 산정하였다. 실험결과 물시멘트비가 방청제의 침투에 가장 큰 영향을 주며 또한 실험체의 깊이가 깊어질수록 침투시킨 방청제의 농도는 같지 않고 낮아지는 것을 알 수 있었다.

건식 진공펌프의 상태진단 및 예지보수 기법 (Predictive Diagnosis and Preventive Maintenance Technologies for Dry Vacuum Pumps)

  • This article introduces fundamentals of self-diagnosis and predictive (or preventive) maintenance technologies for dry vacuum pumps. The state variables of dry pumps are addressed, such as the pump and motor body temperatures, consumption currents of main and booster pumps, mechanical vibration, and exhaust pressure, etc. The adaptive parametric models of the state variables of the dry pump are exploited to provide dramatic reduction of data size and computation time for self-diagnosis. Two indicators, the Hotelling's $T^2$ and the sum of squares residuals (Q), are illustrated to be quite effective and successful in diagnosing dry pumps used in the semiconductor processes.

Paint Removal of Airplane & Water Jet Application

  • The paint removal and recoating are the very important process in airplane maintenance. The traditional technology is to use the chemical way corroding the paint with paint remover. For changing the defects, corrosion & pollution & manual working, of the traditional technology, the physical process which removes the paint of airplane with 250MPa/250kW ultra-high pressure rotary water jetting though the surface cleaner installed on the six axes robot is studied. The paint layer of airplane is very thin and close. The contradiction of water jetting paint removal is to remove the paint layer wholly and not damage the surface of airplane. In order to solve the contradiction, the best working condition must be reached through tests. The paint removal efficiency with ultra-high pressure and move speed of not damaged to the surface. The move speed of this test is about 2m/min, and the paint removal efficiency is about $30{\sim}40m^2/h$, and the paint removal active area is 85-90%. No-repeat and no-omit are the base requests of the robot program. The physical paint removal technology will be applied in airplane maintenance, and will face the safety detection of application permission.
