Development of the Family Disaggregation Algorithm for Hierarchical Production Planning (계층적 생산계획의 계품군 분해해법 개발)

  • The family disaggregation model of hierarchical production planning (HPP) is the problem of (0 -1) mixed integer programming that minimizes the total sum of setup costs and inventory holding costs over the planning horizon. This problem is hard in a practical sense since optimal solution algorithms have failed to solve it within reasonable computation times. Thus effective familoy disaggregation algorithm should be developed for HPP. The family disaggregation algorithm developed in this paper consists of the first stage of finding initial solutions and the second stage of improving initial solutions. Some experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of developed disaggregation algorithm.

  • 현재 정부기관이 주체가 되어 운영하고 있는 정보서비스는 대규모 예산 및 고급인력을 투자하여 체계적으로 가공된 질 높은 정보를 제공하는 우수한 서비스임에도 불구하고, 이용자들의 서비스에 관한 인지도 부족으로 활성화가 되지 않고 있다. 본 연구는 최근 경제적인 홍보수단으로 각광받고 있는 검색엔진을 활용한 웹 서비스 마케팅 방법인 Paid Listing, Paid Inclusion, Search Engine Optimization의 기법을 살펴보고 이를 정보서비스의 활성화를 위해 사용할 수 있는 방안 및 사례를 제시하고자 한다.

An optimization of crude oil tanker scheduling problems (유조선의 최적 운항일정계획)

  • This paper presents an efficient optimization algorithm for the crude oil tanker scheduling problem. The algorithm consists of two stages. In stage one, all the potentially optimal schedules (called 'candidate schedules') are generated from feasible schedules for each ship. In the second stage, a multiple ship scheduling problem is formulated as 0-1 integer programming problem considering only the those candidate schedules. The efficiency of the suggested algorithm was improved by exploiting the special structure of the formulation. The algorithm was illustrated by a numerical example and tested on practical ship scheduling problems.

Chemical ecology in Insect Pest Mangement

  • In this paper, the author gave a brief review on the meaning and background involving the growth of chemical ecology. Semichemicals which might be developed as insect control techniques incorporating in IPM program were described. The relevant semichemicals were grouped under separate topics including intraspecific semiochemicals, or pheromones (sex pheromones, alarm pheromones, and epidiectic pheromones), and interspecific semiochemicals, or allelochemics (allomones of Plant origin, and kairomones favoring natural enemies). Here, the author dealt with those of practical aspects only. The prospects of chemical ecology in insect pest management were also proposed.

  • A practical algorithm of generating most probable states in decreasing order of probability, given the probability of each unit\`s state, is suggested for approximating reliability(performability) evaluation of a network with multistate(multimode) units. Method of approximating network reliability for a given measure with most probable states is illustrated with a numerical example. The proposed method in this paper is compared with the previous method regarding memory requirement. Our method has some advantages for computation and achieves improvement with regard to memory requirement for a certain condition judging from the computation experiment.

  • For two independent random variables X and Y, the functional R=Pr[X>Y] is of practical importance in reliability. X can be interpreted as the strength of a component subjected to a stress Y, and R is the component's reliability. In this paper nonparametric approach to estimation of R based on censored observations in the strength variables is analyzed and compared by simulations in the moderate sample sizes.

  • In the present paper, the capacitated solid transportation problem (planar constraints) is considered with upper and lower bounds on the rim conditions. The considered model has been shown to be equipvalent to a standard capacitated 3-index transportation problem. A procedure to solve any capacitated 3-index transportion problem is also suggested. Some special cases of the considered model have been shown to conform to possible practical situations.

  • A comprehensive computer software has been implemented in conjunction with the software for volumetric error generator, to assess simulation on specific measurement tasks. The simulation algorithms have been developed for major measurement tasks, such as step gauge, ring gauge, sphere gauge, and cylinder gauge simulations etc. Verification and practical applications of the developed module have shown its efficiency and validity.

  • Recent interests in intelligent LP modeling aim to support MS/OR-naive users to be able to apply LP models to practical problems without the expert knowledges required. For more generalized LP modeling, a GPS(General Problem Solver)-based approach is suggested in this paper. It identifies modeling process as a means-ends analysis process. In view of this approach, a) we first divide the knowledges into domain specific assertive knowledges(state) and procedural knowledges about LP modeling(operator and macro) for model-domain independence, b) and then generate LP model according to the difference resolution techniques.
