뇌전도와 시-주파수 분석을 이용한 수면 중 각성 검출 (Detection of the Arousal Using EEG and Time-Frequency Analysis)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an automatic algorithm to detect the arousal events. The proposed method is based on time-frequency analysis and the support vector machine classifier using single channel electroencephalogram. To extract features, first we computed 6 indices to find out the information of sleep states. Next powers of each of 4 frequency bands were computed using spectrogram of arousal region. And finally we computed variations of power of EEG frequency to detect arousals. The performance has been assessed using polysomnographic recordings of twenty patients with sleep apnea, snoring and excessive daytime sleepiness. We have shown that proposed method was effective for detecting the arousal events.

USB 카메라 영상에서 DP 매칭을 이용한 사용자의 손 동작 인식 (Hand Gesture Recognition using DP Matching from USB Camera Video)

  • In this paper, we proposed hand detection and hand gesture recognition from USB camera video. Firstly, we extract hand region extraction using skin color information from a difference images. Background image is initially stored and extracted from the input images in order to reduce problems from complex backgrounds. After that, 16-directional chain code sequence is computed from the tracking of hand motion. These chain code sequences are compared with pre-trained models using DP matching. Our hand gesture recognition system can be used to control PowerPoint slides or applied to multimedia education systems. We got 92% hand region extraction accuracy and 82.5% gesture recognition accuracy, respectively.

  • In this paper deals with the frequency control of the HVDC scheme linking Haenam to Cheju Island. The primary aim of the study is to develop and evaluate a new frequency control that can be employed without having to utilize the existing Synchronous Compensators(Gas Turbines). Study cases are completed involving synchronous compensators trip and load tripping events and study plots presented. It is demonstrated that the existing frequency measurement can be replaced by one derived from the AC network alone, incorporated into a new frequency control algorithm and gives good frequency control and dynamic performance.

  • This paper describes a novel method of detecting excitation position in switched reluctance motor(SRM) drive. Some strategies of position sensorless control methods for the motor include the measurement of phase current and applied pulse voltage in an unexcited phase is suggested. The principle of the estimation of a rotor position is based on the detection of inductance by pulse currents. This sensorless method is very simple to detect excitation position estimation and gives efficient control of drive system. Suggested method is verified by some simulations.

  • Recently, many countries around the world are investing heavily in green industries based on green IT technology. The key industry in the green industry is LED. If we replace traditional lighting, we can save a lot of socioeconomic costs. Because it is energy efficient. However, the research and development on maintenance and management are still insignificant about LED lighting. Therefore, after the failure, the post-treatment is delayed and often occurs. In order to solve these problems, it is planned to detect the failure of the LED lighting and to establish a monitoring system that can monitor the situation in real time on the computer or mobile phone of the remote manager using the latest IoT network technology.

  • 에너지저장시스템(Energy storage system; ESS)의 장시간 운용에 따라 배터리 물리적, 화학적으로 배터리 내부 활물질의 변형이 일어나며, 배터리의 전기화학적 특성이 달라진다. 이의 특성을 반영한 배터리 팩의 운용이 필요하며, 안정적이고 장기간 사용하기 위해 배터리 팩 내부 셀 간 불균형을 반영이 필요하다. 하지만, 배터리 팩의 노화로 셀 간 불균형이 발생 시, 같은 조건에서 개별 셀의 노화도를 판단하는 것은 어렵다. 이러한 이유로 배터리 팩뿐만 아니라 개별 셀의 노화를 판단하기 위해 건전성 지표(Health indicator)를 사용한다. 건전성 지표를 사용하여 Hotelling t2 통계량을 적용하여 배터리의 이상 신호 탐지를 수행하였다.

광섬유 Sagnac 간섭계를 이용한 유중방전 신호검출 (Discharge Signal Detection in Insulating Oil using the Optial Fiber Sagnac Interferometer)

  • In this paper, an optical fiber sensor(OF sensor) utilizing the principal of Sagnac interferometer was proposed to detect the discharge signals. The needle-sphere electrode system in insulating oil generated the signals. The performance of OF sensor was checked by sinusoidal calibration signal generated by PZT actuator at 198KHz. The detected discharge signals consisted of acoustic signal and the electrical noise. The noise signal could be removed by digital low pass filter. It was demonstrated that the OF sensor in this research had a possibility to detect the discharge signals in power apparatus.

Development of an Intelligent Station HMI in IEC 61850 Based Substation

  • Because the existing Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for the conventional substation cannot dynamically indicate the configuration information of the Substation Automation System (SAS). In this paper, an intelligent station HMI is proposed for IEC 61850 based substation. The program of the proposed HMI not only can automatically generate the layout of single line diagram, but can also indicate the communication network and functions of IEDs by reading SCL files. It greatly helps monitor the operation status, communication network and each IED dynamically, such as failure detection in SAS. Furthermore, this paper presents the possibility of developing new software for SAS with the full use of IEC 61850-6. Once the software is complete, there is no need to change it when the substation is upgraded or when it is migrated to other IEC 61850 based substations, which is a cost-effective solution.

  • This propose a simple DC voltage sensor less single phase PFC(Power Factor Correction Circuit) converter by detecting a AC current sensors are not required to construct the control system. The DC voltage is directly controlled by the command input signal Kd($V_o/V_a$)for the boost chopper circuit. The DC voltage regulation is small because of the feed forward control for the AC line voltage VS and no dependence of the circuit parameters. The sinusoidal current waveform in phase with the AC input voltage can be obtained. These characteristics are confirmed by some experiment results.

  • 영구자석 동기전동기 구동 인버터 시스템 내 스위치 고장은 다양한 조합으로 발생한다. 특히 스위치 개방고장의 경우 다른 전기 부품에 과전류를 유발하여 전체 시스템에 심각한 2차 손상을 초래한다. 본 논문에서는 개방고장 진단 알고리즘의 복잡성을 완화하기 위해 고장 그룹을 분류하여 고장 발생 시 false alarm의 영향을 받지 않고 간단하고 체계적인 방식으로 고장을 식별할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 스위치의 개방 고장으로 영구자석 동기전동기 구동 시스템 내 PWM 전압원 인버터의 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해 3중 스위치 개방고장 진단 및 검출 기법을 제시한다. 제안된 기법은 기존의 개방고장 진단방법과 달리 정보처리를 위해 Moving Filter를 사용함으로써 연산부하를 증가시키지 않고 신속한 고장 검출이 가능하며 별도의 하드웨어 구성없이 구현이 가능하다. 제안된 기법의 안정성과 유효성이 시뮬레이션을 통해 입증된다.
