개발 PLA 필름으로 포장한 파프리카의 신선도 (Freshness of Paprika Packed with PLA Films)

  • 개발된 3종류의 PLA 필름의 파프리카 포장에의 사용 가능성을 평가하고자 두 종류의 OPP/PE 필름과 함께 파프리카 포장에 사용하여 포장별로 상온에서 20일 동안 저장하면서 품질변화를 살펴보았다. 중량 감소율은 OPP/PE필름은 0.02%에 비해 PLA 필름은 0.18%로 나타났으며 두 포장구 간에 0.16%차로 큰 차이를 보이진 않았다. 수분함량은 PLA1, PLA2 포장구가 적은 감소율을 보였지만 포장재 종류에 따른 뚜렷하게 큰 차이는 보이지 않았고, 외관변화는 저장 6일째 OPP 포장구에서 꼭지 부분에 곰팡이와 부패가 발생하였으나 PLA 포장구에서는 발생하지 않았다. 경도변화는 모든 처리구가 저장기간이 지날수록 감소하였으며, OPP 포장구가 PLA 포장구 보다 다소 높은 경도 수치를 나타내었다. 가용성 고형분 함량은 PLA1 포장구가 가장 적은 변화를 보였고, 색차 L값은 모든 처리구가 9일째 30이하의 값을 나타내었다. 비타민 C 함량의 변화는 PLA2 포장구가 20% 이하로 가장 적은 감소율을 나타났다. 여러 분석 항목에서 모든 포장구가 큰 분석차이가 발생하지 않았으나, 외관상태에서 PLA 필름 포장구는 부패과가 발생하지 않았다. 즉 저장 9일째 OPP/PE 포장구는 꼭지 부분의 곰팡이와 부패가 발생하였고, 포장 개봉시 부패취가 심하였다. OPP/PE 포장구에서는 저장 15일째 부패가 매우 심하였으며 상품성이 전혀 없는 것으로 나타났다.

A Feasible Role of Neuropilin Signaling in Pharyngeal Pouch Formation in Zebrafish

  • Pharyngeal pouches are an important epithelial structure controlling facial skeletal development in vertebrates. A series of pouches arise sequentially in the pharyngeal endoderm through collective cell migration followed by rearrangement of pouch-forming cells. While crucial transcription factors and signaling molecules have been identified in pouch formation, a role for Neuropilins (Nrps) in pouch development has not yet been analyzed in any vertebrates. Nrps are cell surface receptors essential for angiogenesis and axon guidance. In all vertebrates, the two Nrp family members, Nrp1 and Nrp2, are conserved in the genome, with two paralogs for Nrp1 (Nrp1a and Nrp1b) and Nrp2 (Nrp2a and Nrp2b) being identified in zebrafish. Here, I report a potential requirement of Nrp signaling in pouch development in zebrafish. nrp1a and nrp2b were expressed in the developing pouches, with sema3d, a ligand for Nrps, being expressed in the pouches. Knocking down Nrps signaling in the pharyngeal endoderm led to severe defects in pouches and facial cartilages. In addition, blocking Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) activities, a downstream effector of Nrp signaling, in the pharyngeal endoderm caused similar defects in pouches and facial skeleton to those by knocking down Nrps signaling. My results suggest that Nrp signaling acts for pouch formation through MAPK.

국산(國産) Retort Pouch의 식품포장적성(食品包裝適性)에 관한 조사 연구 (Studies on the Adaptability of Home Made Retort Pouch for Food Packaging)

  • 국산 retort pouch의 실용 가능성을 확인하기 위하여 수입하여 사용되고 있는 외국제품과의 성능을 비교한 실험 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 가) 공전(空錢)상태에서의 물성강조 시험결과는 국산 제품(SM-4ply, SM-3ply)과 외국제품(JP-4ply JP-3ply)이 거의 동일한 강도를 유지하고 있었다. 나) Model식품을 이용한 pouch 물성(物性)강도의 경시적 변화결과도 외국제품에 비교하여 손색이 없었으며 laminate강도(적층박리강도)에서는 국산제품이 다소 우수한 결과를 보였다. 다) 실용제품(寶用製品)(retort curry and (packea rice)의 생산(生産)을 위한 실질적인 제조과정을 통하여 pouch의 내열성 및 내용식물의 보존성에 대하여 조사한 결과 국산제품과 외국제품간의 성능차이는 없었으며 이들 공시(供試) pouch는 $135^{\circ}C$ 가열살균에 견딜 수 있는 내열성과 상온유통과정에서 장기 보존이 가능함을 확인 할 수 있었다. 라) 국산 retort pouch의 위생적 안전성은 보사부 고시 제 30호(78년 7월 24일)의 시험방법에 의하여 시험한 결과 규정에 부합되고 있었다.

Physical and Microbiological Changes of Sliced Process Cheese Packaged in Edible Pouches during Storage

  • The objectives of this study were to compare the quality changes of cheese slices individually packed in four kinds of edible pouches in order to select the most suitable variety for individual packaging. The edible Z2 pouch (zein with oleic acid) was selected as maintaining the best cheese qualities based on the physical and microbiological changes undergone by the samples over 4-week storage at $5^{\circ}C$. The cheese sample individually packed in Z2 inner edible pouch and repacked in a plastic (OPP/LLDPE) outer pouch was not significantly different in physical and microbiological changes from that individually packed in a plastic (OPP/LLDPE) inner pouch and repacked in a plastic (OPP/LLDPE) outer pouch. Therefore, it may be concluded on the basis of the physical and microbiological evidence that the Z2 edible pouch can be used as an inner package for cheese slices when it is inside a plastic outer pouch.

잎상치의 MA 포장 (Modified Atmosphere Packaging of Leaf Lettuce)

  • 잎상치를 $20{\mu}m$ LDPE(perforated), $20{\mu}m$ LDPE, $30{\mu}m$ HDPE, $40{\mu}m$ LDPE 필름으로 포장하여 $4^{\circ}C,\;10^{\circ}C$$20^{\circ}C$에서 저장 중 품질변화를 관찰하였다. 상치의 저장수명에 가장 크게 영향을 미치는 인자는 온도로서 저장온도 $4^{\circ}C$에서 상치 품질이 가장 양호하게 보존되었으며, 무포장구와 비교하여 필름 포장구의 저장수명이 $10{\sim}15$배 가량 더 연장되었다. 포장재질별로는 $20{\mu}m$ LDPE(perforated)와 $20{\mu}m$ LDPE 포장구에서 부패 및 변색이 발생하여 상치의 상품적 가치가 비교적 단기간에 저하되었다. 이에 반해 $30{\mu}m$ HDPE와 $40{\mu}m$ LDPE 포장구에서는 중량감소, 변색, 고형분 함량, 조직감, 부패 등 모든 상치의 품질면에서 우수한 결과를 나타내었으며, 특히 $40{\mu}m$ LDPE 포장구에서 더 우수한 결과를 나타내었다.

미생물에 대한 항균효과를 이용한 한약 전탕팩의 유효기한 연구 (Establishment of the Expiration Date of Herbal Formula Decoction Pouch by Antimicrobial Activities Against Microorganisms)

  • Objectives: To establish the expiration date of herbal decoction pouch, the change in antimicrobial activities was measured according to storage temperature and period. Methods: Five herbal formulas, Gyeji-tang, Jakyakgamcho-tang, Saengmaek-san, Paljung-san, and Dangguisu-san, with antimicrobial activity were selected from 51 herbal formulas commonly used in traditional Korean medical institutions. Five herbal formula decoction pouches were prepared and stored at room temperature (RT) or 4℃ from 0 to 12 weeks to evaluate the antimicrobial activity against Bacillus cereus, Listeria monocytogenes, or Vibrio parahaemolyticus. The antimicrobial activities were evaluated by the disk diffusion method (disk size: 10 mm). Results: The decoction pouches of Gyeji-tang and Jakyakgamcho-tang maintained antimicrobial activity against V. parahaemolyticus from week 0 (14 mm) to week 12 (14 mm) at both temperatures. Saengmaek-san pouch had antimicrobial activities against V. parahaemolyticus and B. cereus from week 0 (19 mm and 20 mm) to week 12 (both 18 mm), respectively. At RT and 4℃, the antimicrobial activity of Paljung-san pouch was maintained week 0 (17 mm) to week 12 (both 13 mm) against B. cereus. Against L. monocytogenes, the antimicrobial activity of Dangguisu-san pouch showed 27 mm at week 0 and 23 mm (RT) and 24 mm (4℃) at week 12, respectively. Conclusion: According to increase of the storage duration, the antimicrobial activities of 5 herbal formula decoction pouches decreased slightly but remained up to 12 weeks. These results can be used as important data to establish the expiration date of herbal formula decoction pouches.

이징(1580년~1642년) 묘 출토 목질류 및 직물류 분석 (Analysis of Wooden Materials and Fabrics from the Tomb of Yi Jing)

  • 이징 묘 출토 목질류에 대한 수종 분석 및 복식 중에서 대표 직물류에 대한 재질 분석을 실시하였다. 조사 결과, 목질류로 분류된 외관, 내관, 칠성판, 삽은 모두 소나무류(Pinus densiflora)로 식별되었다. 직물류 분석 결과, 삽 부착 직물과 명정, 오낭은 견직물이었다. 적삼은 평직 면직물이었으며 버선의 경우 겉감은 면직물, 안감은 마직물이었다. 견직물 중에서 오낭의 우족·좌족은 수자직(繻子織) 문단이고 나머지는 평직 견직물인 주(紬)로 확인되었다. 적외선 분석 결과, 삽에는 구름무늬가 전체적으로 그려져 있었으며, 명정과 오낭에는 묵서가 있었다.

Expression and Functional Analysis of cofilin1-like in Craniofacial Development in Zebrafish

  • Pharyngeal pouches, a series of outgrowths of the pharyngeal endoderm, are a key epithelial structure governing facial skeleton development in vertebrates. Pouch formation is achieved through collective cell migration and rearrangement of pouch-forming cells controlled by actin cytoskeleton dynamics. While essential transcription factors and signaling molecules have been identified in pouch formation, regulators of actin cytoskeleton dynamics have not been reported yet in any vertebrates. Cofilin1-like (Cfl1l) is a fish-specific member of the Actin-depolymerizing factor (ADF)/Cofilin family, a critical regulator of actin cytoskeleton dynamics in eukaryotic cells. Here, we report the expression and function of cfl1l in pouch development in zebrafish. We first showed that fish cfl1l might be an ortholog of vertebrate adf, based on phylogenetic analysis of vertebrate adf and cfl genes. During pouch formation, cfl1l was expressed sequentially in the developing pouches but not in the posterior cell mass in which future pouch-forming cells are present. However, pouches, as well as facial cartilages whose development is dependent upon pouch formation, were unaffected by loss-of-function mutations in cfl1l. Although it could not be completely ruled out a possibility of a genetic redundancy of Cfl1l with other Cfls, our results suggest that the cfl1l expression in the developing pouches might be dispensable for regulating actin cytoskeleton dynamics in pouch-forming cells.

중국 전통 주머니에 나타난 조형적 특성 (The Figurative Characteristics of Traditional Chinese Jumoni (pouches))

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of Jumoni (pouches), which takes the most quantity of traditional women's handicrafts in China, and examine figurative characteristics of them through demonstrative study focusing on collections of literature and museums. Traditional Jumoni of China included Dae, Nang, Hapo, Tu, Hap, and Chimeui. Its types included a pleated type, a covered type with a lid, an opened type without a lid, and a type that was stitched up after putting objects in it. The Jumoni had various shapes such as a polygon, a circle, and shapes imitating objects. It was used to store cosmetic utensils, sewing supplies, everyday household utensils, valuables, medicinal ingredients, flavoring materials, and so on. It had various figurative characteristics which were different from those of women's handicrafts in Korea. Based on the findings, it aims to provide basic information for developing Korean traditional accessories that make the best of Korean traditional beauty as well as add modern esthetics have both Korean traditional beauty and modern esthetics.

N-Nitrosamine과 단순포진성 바이러스가 햄스터의 구강암발생에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (Combined Effect of N-Nitrosamines and Herpes Simplex Virus on Oral Carcinogenesis in Hamsters)

  • We have previously reported that simulated snuff dipping in conjunction with type I herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) induced oral malignant changes in hamsters. Present study was designed to investigate the carcinogenic effect of tobacco specific-N-nitrosamines (TSNAs) and HSV-1, alone or in combination, in hamsters. Hamsters were divided into 6 groups and the right buccal pouch mucosa were treated as follows: Grp 1, Control (Mock inoculation) [MI]+Topical Application [TA] of mineral oil[MO] : Grp 2, TA of 1% n'- nitrosonornicotine [NNN] + IM: Grp3, TA of 1% 4-N-nitrosomethylamino-1- (3-pyridyl)-1-butanone [NNK] + MI: Grp 4, HSV-1 inoculation [HI]+TA of MO : Grp 5, TA of 1% N-nitrosonornicotine [NNN] + HI: Grp 6, TA of 1% NNK + HI. TA of MO or TSNAs was initiated 1 day after the MI or HI and given 3 times per week for 20 consecutive weeks. At the buccal pouches were fixed for light microscope examination. No animal s developed tumors or malignant histopathologic changes in the mucosa of the buccal pouches. These data indicate that individual TSNAs, alone or in conjunction with HSV-1 infection, do not develop malignant changes in hamster buccal pouches.
