A Specific Character on the Urinary Hippuric Acid Excretions of Workers Exposed to Toluene in Specific Character of Manufacturing Industry (작업장 특성에 따른 톨루엔 노출 근로자의 마뇨산 배출 특성)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the correlation between toluene in air and hippuric acid in human urine, which is based in the results of the health check-in and measure of working environment, was investigated for five years. Toluene in air and hippuric acid in urine were checked 116 workers who exposed to toluene in five type of industry. The Mean concentration of toluene in air by type of industry and every year and sex distinction, had positive correlation.(p<0.01) The Mean concentration of hippuric acid in urine by type of industry, every year, sex distinction, disparity of age and term of duty had positive correlation.(p<0.01).

The Relationship Between Attachment Behaviors and Narrative Representations about Mothers by 3 and 4 year-old Children (3-4세 유아의 애착 행동과 어머니에 대한 표상 간의 관계)

  • Subjects were 66 3- to 4-year-old-Children of unemployed mothers from upper middle class families. Attachment behaviors were measured with the Preschool Strange Situation(Cassidy and Marvin, 1992) and classified as secure, avoidant, dependent, or disorganized. Narrative representations of mothers by Children were obtained by video taped interviews using the MacArthur Story-Stem Battery and coded by the MacArthur Narrative Working Group(1997) system. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and t test. Results were that children in the secure group showed more positive representations of their mothers, more prosocial story themes, had higher scores in theme coherence and showed more positive emotional expression than those in the insecure group. The attachment behaviors of the 4 groups(A, B, C, D) were closely correlated with the attachment representations shown in MSSB.

Antecedent and Consequences of Management Quality: Focused on Employees of Manufacturing Industries (경영품질의 선행요인과 결과요인: 제조업 종사자를 대상으로)

  • The objective of this study ware to explore the antecedent and consequences of management quality and to examine the mediating effects of the management quality on the relationship between antecedent and consequences. In order to verify the relationships and mediating effect, data were obtained from 328 employees working in firms at Jinju, Masan, Changwon City were analyzed by using SPSS 12.0. and AMOS 5.0. The findings are as follows: First, antecedent(psychological ownership) was positively related to management quality. Second, there were also positive relationship between management quality and consequences(employee's attitude). Third, there were also positive relationship between psychological ownership and employee's attitude(job satisfaction, organizational commitment). Finally, management quality was a partial mediating effect on the relationship between psychological ownership and employee's attitude. Based on these findings, the theoretical and practical implications and limitations are discussed in conclusion.

The Determinants of Intent to Leave of Hospital Pharmacists (종합병원 약사의 이직의도 결정요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the determinants of intent to leave of hospital pharmacists. The independent variables contain three groups of determinants: environmental variables(job opportunity and external support), psychological variables(met expectations, growth desire, self-efficacy, and positive/negative affectivity) and structural variables (power, legitimacy, job variety, job significance, workload, physical environment, job security, pay, internal support, job growth, and promotional chances). The sample used in this study consists of 252 pharmacists working at hospitals in Seoul City, Inchon City and Kyunggi Province. Data were collected with self- administered questionnaires from Oct. 24 to Nov. 14 in 2001 and analyzed using path analysis. The results of this study indicate that the following variables, listed in order of size, have significant negative effects on intent to leave of hospital pharmacists; met expectations, organizational commitment, job satisfaction, promotional chances, and job variety. Job opportunity was found to have significant positive effect on the intent to leave of hospital pharmacists. Implications for hospital administrators and discussions for further research were suggested.

The Effects of Market Orientation of Apparel Firms and Salesperson's Job performance on the Job Satisfaction (의류업체의 시장지향성과 판매원의 직무능력이 판매원 만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the components of market orientation of apparel firms and to examine the influence of market orientation, and salesperson's job performance on the salesperson's job satisfaction. Data were obtained from 547 shop-masters working at L' Department Stores in Seoul and Bundang. Statistics used for data analysis were frequency, factor analysis, cronbach's and multiple regression analysis. The results can be summarized as follows: (1) The market orientation of apparel firms is composed of three factors: information generation, information dissemination, and the responsiveness to market information. (2) Market orientation was found to have a positive effect on salespeople's job satisfaction. (3) salespeople's job performance was found to have a positive effect on salespeople's job satisfaction.

The Effect of Organizational Culture and Safety Climates on Safety Behavior and Accidents: Focused on the metro train drivers (조직문화와 안전풍토가 안전행동 및 사고에 미치는 영향: 도시철도 기관사를 중심으로)

  • This study highlights the theme of human error of train drivers, conducting empirical analysis on the relationship between organizational culture, safety climates, safety behavior, and accident. The empirical test results based on questionnaires received from 223 train drivers working at A subway firm indicated that relationship conflict and psychological reward as the elements of organizational culture variables showed a significant positive effect on CEO philosophy, communication, and boss's leadership. And only boss's leadership showed a positive influence on safety behavior, which in turn showed a significant negative relationship with accidents.

  • A study of 232 secondary school teachers was conducted to explore their knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and interests concerning AIDS and HN infection, in order to develop in-service training program for teachers and effective teaching strategies across the curriculum for students. 1. Teachers of 12.9% reported that they had attended in-service training concerning AIDS and HIV. 2. Teachers of 75.4%, 68.2%, 73.7% offered correct answers to the knowledge section pertaining to the transmission of HN, prevention of mv infection, and HIV antibody testing. 3. Significant correlations were found among knowledge, attitudes, interests, and between interests and behaviors, related to AIDS and HIV. Teachers who had relatively more knowledge and positive attitudes related to AIDS, had an more interest in AIDS, expressed stronger intentions to care for, and took more positive attitudes toward working with and teaching AIDS patients than other teachers did.(Correlation through Factor Analysis).

Change Commitment and Learning Orientation as Factors Affecting the Innovativeness of Clinical Nurses (병원간호사의 변화몰입과 학습지향성이 혁신성향에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the effects of change commitment and learning orientation on the innovativeness of clinical nurse. Methods: The participants in this study were 268 nurses, working in hospitals in Seoul, Gyeonggi and Gangwon Provinces, and Daejeon City. Data were collected from June to August, 2012. A structured questionnaire was used for data collect and data was analyzed using the SPSS/WIN program. Results: The most significant predictors of innovativeness were education, normative commitment, continuance commitment and learning commitment. Continuance commitment negatively correlated with innovativeness. Conclusion: These findings suggest that nurses' commitment to change and learning commitment were strongly linked to innovativeness. Management-level workers in these hospitals should have the skills and strategies to promote commitment to change include developing positive expectations about change positive outcomes.

A Structural Analysis of Causality between Safety Leadership and Related Factors in the Metro Driver Organization (도시철도 기관사조직의 안전리더십과 관련요인 간의 인과관계 구조분석)

  • This study highlights the theme of safety leadership in railway organization, conducting empirical analysis on the relationship between safety climates, safety leadership, safety behavior, and accident. The empirical test results based on questionnaires received from 223 train drivers working at A subway firm indicated that relationship between CEO's safety philosophy, and safety communication showed a significant positive effect on boss's safety leadership. And boss's safety leadership showed a positive influence on observation belonging to safety behavior, which in turn showed a significant negative relationship with mistake. However, mistake, observation and violation were shown that there are no relationship with accidents.

Effects of Emotional Labor and Perceived Organizational Support on the Job Attitude of Public Health Workers (보건소 공무원들의 감정노동과 조직지원인식이 직무태도에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives: This study was designed to determine the relationship among emotional labor, perceived organizational support, and job attitude in public health centers. Results: First, emotional dissonance had no effect on perceived organizational support. However, emotional endeavor had a positive effect on perceived organizational support. Second, perceived organizational support had a significant effect on job attitude. Third, emotional labor had no effect on job satisfaction, but emotional labor had a positive effect on job commitment. Fourth, perceived organizational support had a full mediating effect on the relationship between emotional labor and job attitude. The implications of this study are as follows. Conclusions: Higher emotional labor leads to lower job satisfaction and job commitment in public officials, thereby affecting job attitude. Accordingly, various systematic methods, such as flexible working hours and personnel policy, need to be implemented to alleviate the negative effects of emotional labor.
