A Study on the Childcare Teachers' Attitudes Toward Gender Sensitivity Education (보육교직원의 젠더감수성 교육에 대한 태도 연구)

  • The purpose of the present study is to qualitatively explore childcare teachers' attitudes toward gender sensitivity education for early childhood. The study recruited 227 teachers and directors working in childcare centers around the Seoul metropolitan areas. The study utilised the interpretive science paradigm and visual methods for data collection, and thematic analysis examined the attitudes of 227 participants. Gender sensitivity education include gender flexibility and sexual orientation. Most participants showed positive attitudes toward the gender flexibility education. They regarded the gender flexibility as a topic socially accepted, suitable for early childhood development, and easy to implement. They also believed that the gender flexibility education would encourage the individuality of children. On the other hand, 53.3% of participants showed negative attitudes toward tolerance education regarding sexual orientation. Opponents expressed that an issue of sexual orientation did not reach a social consensus. They also worried that the topic is not developmentally appropriate for early childhood, and difficult to teach young children because of insufficient educational materials. At the same time, 40.5% of participants expected Korean society would embrace diverse sexual orientations in the future, and early childhood education would help young children adapted to changing contexts. This study discussed theoretical concepts of gender sensitivity, listened to childcare teachers' voices about education of gender flexibility and sexual orientation, and suggested more appropriate gender sensitivity education for early childhood.

The Effects of Playfulness and Sensitivity on Play Teaching Efficacy in Early Childhood Teacher (영유아교사의 놀이성과 민감성이 놀이교수 효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is aimed at figuring out the influence of early childhood teachers' playfulness and sensitivity on play teaching efficacy. The subjects of the study were 262 early childhood teachers working in kindergarten and day care centers located in J City. The instruments were the Adult Playfulness Scale, the Sensitivity Scale, and the Play Teaching Efficacy Scale. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS. In order to find out the general background of the early childhood teachers, frequency and percentage were used. In addition, in order to assess the relationships among playfulness, sensitivity, and the play teaching efficacy of an early childhood teacher, Pearson's correlation analysis was carried out. Lastly, for examination of the effects and a relative explanation of the effects of playfulness and sensitivity on play teaching efficacy in early childhood teachers, a multiple regression analysis was conducted. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was positive correlation among playfulness, sensitivity, and play teaching efficacy in the early childhood teacher. Second, play teaching efficacy of early childhood teachers was influenced by their playfulness and sensitivity. In conclusion, the significance of this study is that there was a significant correlation among playfulness, sensitivity, and play teaching efficacy in early childhood teachers, and that both of the first two variables were factors influencing play teaching efficacy.

The Influence of Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of 119 Paramedics on Job Performance Ability (119 구급대원의 직무스트레스, 직무만족도가 직무수행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research study to determine the effect of job stress and job satisfaction of 119 paramedics on their job performance ability. The subjects were 119 paramedics working at the fire department who agreed to participate in the study, and data collection was conducted from July 1st to September 10th, 2020. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 23.0 program, with frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, correlation analysis, t-test, and ANOVA. As a result, the average job stress, job satisfaction, and job performance ability of 119 paramedics were 2.85±0.29 points, 3.35±0.30 points, and 3.53±0.89, respectively. A higher job satisfaction indicated higher job performance ability. An examination of the characteristics of the variables according to the general characteristics showed that the job performance ability was related significantly to the marital status, age, and first aid experience. Based on this, to establish a positive professional intuition to increase the job performance ability of 119 paramedics, lower job stress, and increases job satisfaction, it is important to raise awareness of job satisfaction, establish a job view, and promote job satisfaction through performance improvement. Program development and education programs for children should be actively carried out.rough performance improvement. A Study on the Factors Affecting Working Women's Continuance Intention in Economic Activities : Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Family Support (근로여성의 경제활동 지속의지에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 가족지지의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • Although several studies have made and policies have formulated for an increase in women's participation in economic activities, the participation rate of women in economic activities in Korea is only 50% and much lower than in other advanced countries. This study aims to analyze the factors that affect women's continuance intention in economic activities including their motivation for economic activities, women's perception of work, and government support recognition. We empirically analyze and examine such factors and the moderating effects of family support. The survey was conducted on women nationwide to be distributed evenly among various age groups, ranging from those in their 20s to those in their 50s. The results of the empirical analysis based on the data collected on a total of 406 people were as follows. First, the motivation for economic activities including economic and self-realization motivation, women's perception of work, and government support was seen as having a significantly positive effect on women's Continuance Intention in Economic Activities. Second, the impact of women's work perception on their continuance intention in economic activities varied depending on the level of family support, and its moderating effect was confirmed. But there was no moderating effect of family support between economic and self-realization motivation, government support recognition, and the women's continuance intention for economic activities To increase women's continuance intention for economic activities, both support for work-family compatibility policies and institutional support should be provided. Government support will also be needed in order to enable women with abundant experience to participate in economic activities.

Influence of Shared Leadership Perceived by Cooks on Self-efficacy, Collective Efficacy, and Job Performance: Focusing on Hotel Culinary Department (공유 리더십에 대한 조리사 인식이 자기효능감, 집단효능감과 직무성과에 미치는 영향 : 호텔조리부서 대상)

  • This study assumed that chef's shared leadership perceived by chefs in hotel culinary department affects self-efficacy, group efficacy, and job performance. Based on this, the causal relationship between each variable was analyzed through leadership sharing. And based on the results, we tried to suggest a manpower management plan suitable for the hotel culinary department and provide basic data. The subjects of this study were chefs working in 8 luxury hotels in Seoul and Busan. A total of 302 questionnaires were analyzed. For analysis, SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 statistical packages were used. As a result of empirical analysis, it was found that it had a positive effect on self-efficacy and job performance improvement of hotel cooks. On the other hand, it was found that the chef's shared leadership did not affect job performance through collective efficacy and collective efficacy. In conclusion, it was suggested that a differentiated and efficient manpower management plan is needed to enhance job performance by enhancing shared leadership and self-efficacy for cooks, where collaboration and division of labor are important, and individual ability is important due to the nature of their work.

Gynecologists' perception of High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound as a treatment for uterine leiomyomas (자궁근종의 치료로서 고강도 집속 초음파 치료에 대한 부인과 의사의 인식에 대한 연구)

  • Recently, there has been an increased awareness on the use of High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) as a non-surgical treatment option for leiomyomas. This study aimed to assess gynecologists' perception of HIFU therapy for uterine leiomyomas in Korea. We analyzed questionnaires from 162 Korean gynecologists who provided data on 1) demographics, 2) pattern of practice with respect to leiomyomas, and 3) opinion regarding HIFU therapy for leiomyomas. Of the 162 gynecologists, 2.8 % regarded HIFU as a first-line treatment for leiomyomas. HIFU was only available at the workplace of 19 % of respondents; of these, 58 % had requested the use of HIFU. When asked about their perception of HIFU for treating leiomyomas, only 19 % of the respondents thought that it was effective. The commonest perceived complication was a delay in the adequate treatment of sarcoma (59 %), followed by bowel injury (52 %). The respondents considered HIFU to be suitable in the following circumstances: age between 40 and 49 years, those patients who no longer desired pregnancy, medium-sized (5-6 cm) leiomyomas, and up to 2 leiomyomas. The Korean gynecologists' perception of HIFU as a treatment for leiomyomas is still not favorable. Gynecologists working at hospitals where HIFU is available tended to have a higher positive perception of this treatment. In addition to research involving a large number of gynecologists from multiple countries, a study on the long-term outcomes of HIFU is needed.

Factors Affecting Nurses' Performance of Standard Precautions for Infection in Public Medical Institutions: Focusing on Knowledge and Safety Environment (공공의료기관 간호사의 감염 표준주의지침 수행도 영향요인 : 지식, 안전환경 중심으로)

  • This study is a descriptive research to investigate the, safety environment, and performance of nurses working in public medical institutions on standard precautions for infection, and to identify factors affecting the performance of standard precautions for infection. As for the research method, data were collected through a questionnaire on 192 nurses from two public medical institutions in S city and N city, and the results were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 22.0 statistical program. From the research results, there was a significant difference in the knowledge of standard precautions according to work experience, and there was a significant difference in the safety environment of standard precautions according to the position. The average level of knowledge of standard precautions was 21.98/25 points, the average safety environment was 5.68/7 points, and the average performance was 40.28/60 points. There was a significant positive correlation between the safety environment of standard precautions and the performance of standard precautions (r=.21, p<0.01). The affecting factor on the performance of standard precautions was found to be the safety environment of standard precautions(𝛽=.22, p=.003). Therefore, to improve the performance of standard precautions for nurses' infection control in public medical institutions, Different and persistent infection management educational programs that consider the Historical situation and monitoring are required other than providing financial support and supportive safety environment.

Mediating effect of Resilience for Life care in the Relationship between Stress Coping and Job Stress of 119 Emergency Medical Technicians (119 구급대원의 라이프 케어를 위한 스트레스 대처와 직무스트레스 간의 관계에서 극복력의 매개효과)

  • This study was conducted to provide basic data to find measures to alleviate the job stress of 119 Emergency Medical Technicians by identifying the mediating effect of resilience for life care in the relationship between stress coping and job stress of 119 Emergency Medical Technicians. The data for this study were collected from October 5, 2019, to October 31, 2019. The subject was 205 119 Emergency Medical Technicians working in 119 safety centers located in G Metropolitan City. The collected data were analyzed by independent t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, hierarchical multiple regression analysis, and Sobel test using the SPSS Statistics 21.0 program. As a result oh the study, The mediation effect of resilience was not statistically significant in the relationship between stress coping of seeking social support type and job stress; the mediation effect of resilience was not statistically significant in the relationship between stress coping of seeking positive thinking type and job stress. but, resilience was revealed that resilience completely mediates the relationship between problem-solving type and job stress, and partially mediates the relationship between avoidance type and job stress. The measures to reduce the job stress of 119 Emergency Medical Technicians derived from the above results are as follows. First, among the 119 Emergency Medical Technicians, problem-solving stress coping type 119 Emergency Medical Technicians need to reduce job stress through resilience improvement program. Second, avoidance stress coping type 119 Emergency Medical Technicians should take part in education programs that can reduce job stress in parallel with resilience improvement program.

  • The recent introduction of working from home due to COVID-19 has created a situation where it is difficult for organizational leaders to face their members in person, making it difficult for leadership in the general meaning to exert influence on subordinates. In this situation, this study attempted to suggest a self-leadership in which members of the organization motivate themselves and lead themselves as an alternative. In particular, this study attempted to confirm that self-leadership can be useful to MZ generation. In order to verify the effectiveness of self-leadership, job engagement was used as a dependent variable, and the mediation effect of loneliness was verified to determine how members' self-leadership affects their job engagement. In addition, it was confirmed how the self-leadership of members affects loneliness differently depending on the situational factors of overall justice. This study suggests that self-leadership can play a positive role in the current COVID-19 situation and generation MZ, and that the value of justice should be considered more important in each organization.

A Study on Emotional Labor of Home Elderly Welfare Center Certified Nursing Assistants

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the operation and working environment of welfare centers through this study on emotional labor of Certified Nursing Assistants at home welfare centers for the elderly. For the study, 138 Certified Nursing Assistants belonging to the Home elderly welfare center in K-si and J-do were studied. For statistical analysis, Cronbach's α, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS/WIN 17.0. First, as a result of the study, the difference in emotional labor among Certified Nursing Assistants at home-based senior welfare centers was higher in the degree of emotional labor in the order of dementia education, work experience, employment type, education level, and age. Second, the degree of burnout of the survey subjects was highest in the order of work experience, dementia education, employment type, and age. Finally, work stress and emotional labor were found to have a significant positive effect on work burnout. In conclusion, it is necessary to study Certified Nursing Assistants' cases of systematic emotional control experience to prevent work burnout, dementia education, work feedback on how to cope with services, and work conditions improvement measures to relieve work stress.
