  • In this paper, we define the notion of statistical A-summability for double sequences and find its relation with A-statistical convergence. We apply our new method of summability to prove a Korovkin-type approximation theorem for a function of two variables. Furthermore, through an example, it is shown that our theorem is stronger than classical and statistical cases.

  • In this work, we construct Kantorovich type generalization of a class of linear positive operators via Riemann type q-integral. We obtain estimations for the rate of convergence by means of modulus of continuity and the elements of Lipschitz class and also investigate weighted approximation properties.

  • Consider nonlinear autoregressive processes of order 1 defined by the random iteration $$ (1) X_{n + 1} = f(X_n) + \epsilon_{n + 1} (n \geq 0) $$ where f is real-valued Borel measurable functin on $R^1, {\epsilon_n : n \geq 1}$ is an i.i.d.sequence whose common distribution F has a non-zero absolutely continuous component with a positive density, $E$\mid$\epsilon_n$\mid$ < \infty$, and the initial $X_0$ is independent of ${\epsilon_n : n > \geq 1}$.

  • From a notion of d-pseudo-orthogonality for a sequence of poly-nomials ($d\;\in\;{2,3,\cdots}$), this paper introduces three different characterizations of natural exponential families (NEF's) with polynomial variance functions of exact degree 2d-1. These results provide extended versions of the Meixner (1934), Shanbhag (1972, 1979) and Feinsilver (1986) characterization results of quadratic NEF's based on classical orthogonal polynomials. Some news sets of polynomials with (2d-1)-term recurrence relation are then pointed out and we completely illustrate the cases associated to the families of positive stable distributions.

  • Let $F_n$ and $L_n$ be the nth Fibonacci number and Lucas number, respectively. The order of appearance of m in the Fibonacci sequence, denoted by z(m), is the smallest positive integer k such that m divides $F_k$. Marques obtained the formula of $z(L^k_n)$ in some cases. In this article, we obtain the formula of $z(L^k_n)$ for all $n,k{\geq}1$.

  • In this paper we first characterize the hereditarily hypercyclicity of the unilateral (or bilateral) weighted shifts on the spaces $L^2(\mathbb{N},\mathcal{K})$ (or $L^2(\mathbb{Z},\mathcal{K})$) with weight sequence {$A_n$} of positive invertible diagonal operators on a separable complex Hilbert space $\mathcal{K}$. Then we give the necessary and sufficient conditions for the supercyclicity of those weighted shifts, which extends some previous results of H. Salas. At last, we give some conditions for the supercyclicity of three different weighted shifts.

  • Let $W_{\alpha}$ be a weighted shift with positive weight sequence ${\alpha}=\{\alpha_i\}_{i=0}^{\infty}$. The semi-cubical hyponormality of $W_{\alpha}$ is introduced and some flatness properties of $W_{\alpha}$ are discussed in this note. In particular, it is proved that if ${\alpha}_n={\alpha}_{n+1}$ for some $n{\geq}1$, ${{\alpha}_{n+k}}={\alpha}_n$ for all $k{\geq}1$.

  • This paper presents a new control scheme for a Dynamic Voltage Restorer(DVR) system consisting of series voltage source PWM converters. The control system is designed using differential controllers and digital filters to transfer the faulted ac source voltage to a d-q model and to separate the positive and negative sequence component for individual compensation. The performance of the presented controller and scheme are confirmed through simulation and actual experiment.

  • In this paper, a new detection algorithm of faulted voltages under the unbalanced condition and a control algorithm of the instantaneous voltage sag corrector (IVSC) are proposed. To quantify the unbalance under fault conditions, the voltages are decomposed into two balanced three-phase systems using the symmetrical components of positive and negative sequence voltages, which is defined by magnitude factor (MF) and unbalance factor (UF). New control algorithm based on MF and UF values for instantaneous voltage compensation are proposed and verified through the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation and experimental results.

  • We show that certain extensions of classifiable C*-algebras are strongly classified by the associated six-term exact sequence in K-theory together with the positive cone of K0-groups of the ideal and quotient. We use our results to completely classify all unital graph C*-algebras with exactly one non-trivial ideal.
