This paper analyzes the effectiveness of social networks in finding jobs and estimates the value of job search network using the Korean Laber and Income Panel Study (KLIPS) dataset and utilizing the Difference-in-Difference Propensity Score Matching (PSM) methodology (Heckman et al., 1997). While the wide use of social networks in the Korean labor market is often perceived as 'nepotism,' this study confirms that social networks, by serving as an effective information transmitter between job search and recruitment, make a significant contribution to improving the adequacy of job matching in the domestic labor market. In order to verify the effectiveness of using social networks for getting jobs, this study looks into the cases of labor turnover using social networks and also not using it. In the aspect of individual satisfaction improvement relating to workplace and job duties, both cases of turnover turn out to experience an increased satisfaction by 2~3 points (on a 100-score scale). Meanwhile, as for the educational and technical adequacy improvement, no positive effects are found in the case of turnover without social networks, whereas the educational and technical adequacy improvement turns out to increase by 2.13 and 2.52 points, respectively, in the case of turnover using social networks. The effect of income increase through turnover using social networks registered 40,074 Korean won per month (as of 2010), which can be considered as the result from the improved educational and technical adequacy. Of all things being considered, the value of job search network per wage worker in the Korean society is estimated to be 18.72 million won in terms of life-cycle wage improvement, and 758.2 scores in terms of the improvement of working life satisfaction. Provided that the cash value of satisfaction score 1 is equivalent to 'n' times 10,000 won, the aggregate value of job search network is estimated to be 18.72+7.582n million won, which means the total amount of costs that a wage worker in the Korean society willingly pays to maintain and manage job networks for lifetime.

The performance of Enterprise Architecture (EA) in the Korea's public IT domain produces mixed results and responses. On the one hand, EA earns positive remarks and enthusiasm as a central government-wide IT governance framework with its significant IT budget saving records. At the same time, however, the response to EA at the department and agency level is tainted with disappointment, fatigue, and reluctance. This essay suggests that this is perhaps caused by the sterile lackluster concept of EA Business Architecture employed in the current EA practice of the enterprise. The possibility for liberating and reviving the concept of EA Business Architecture is explored. Various conceptual axes and branches of EA Business Architecture are identified based upon extensive EA field experience and observations, and discussions are made on how the concept of EA Business Architecture can be expanded and amplified on those conceptual axes and branched. The resulting EA Business Architecture conceptualization is consolidated into an illustrative typology for EA Business Architecture. In the end the theoretical and practical implications of the research are discussed along with its contribution and limitation.

This study was carried out in order to be used as basic data in developing oral health program for adolescents hereafter by surveying which influence it has upon oral health knowledge and recognition depending on students' subjective oral health status targeting middle school students. First of all, examining about students' subjective oral health status, the 2nd graders accounted for 36.2% depending on school year, thereby having been indicated to be high in response as saying of being healthy in own teeth. It was indicated that the higher level of brushing teeth after lunch at school leads to the higher response as saying of being healthy in own teeth(p<0.05). The group with response as saying of healthy in own teeth was indicated to be higher in regularly visiting once or twice a year as the period of visiting dental clinic, and was indicated to be higher(p<0.001) in a visit for oral check-up even as for the aim of visiting dental clinic than other groups. Accordingly, the aim is to offer an opportunity of motivation that students will have interest in oral health, by carrying out continuously oral health education, and is also to increase knowledge and awareness level on oral health by allowing them to have positive attitude toward oral health.

The purpose of this study is to develop the elementary mathematics education program for the cultivation of humanistic imagination and characters through the link between mathematics and literature to find out its effectiveness. This study has verified the effectiveness of mathematics academic achievement, humanistic imagination and characters with the program development and preliminary program and application of this program for two years. After conducting classes on proportional expression and proportional distribution for 79 sixth-grade elementary school students (39 in the experimental class and 40 in the comparative class) in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do under this program, the researcher analyzed how the application of the program affects students' perception using pre- and post-examinations on mathematics academic achievement, humanistic imagination, and characters, including interviews with students, and analysis of outputs of the students. Studies have shown that the application of the elementary mathematics education program to foster humanities imagination and characters did not make any significant difference in mathematics academic achievement, and there were statistically significant differences in the subcategories of "reflection on life", "positive self-consciousness" and "humanistic imagination" categories, and there were no statistically significant differences in the "purpose of life" and "human relations" categories. However, the responses from the students' interviews showed that their perspectives of humans and the world has become wider and deeper. It also did not produce significant results for characters. As suggestions, the ministry should present the need to develop and distribute concerning materials for teachers, secure time for creative experience activities for convergence subjects, and operate practical and long-term training programs for teachers.
There is an increasing emphasis on science teaching in inclusion education setting, but still few research and practice in science education field including science teacher training course as well. It is well known that teaching efficacy of teacher is an important factor to influence teaching behavior and students' learning, but it is hard to find related studies about self-efficacy on teaching science for the disabled students. In this study pre-service science teachers' self-efficacy on science teaching for the disabled students was investigated and analyzed. For this a questionnaire consisted of 3 sub-scale like learning efficacy scale, teaching efficacy scale, and outcome expectancy scale was enacted to 97 pre-service science teachers. As a result, pre-service science teachers showed relatively low efficacy in teaching but showed positive learning efficacy and outcome expectancy. There was no meaningful difference in distribution of efficacy belief by gender, however the experience of teaching science for the disabled students made difference in outcome expectancy. From this study the implication for science teacher training course was inferred to meet the needs for science education in inclusion setting.
This study examines the impact of school violence on South Korean students' psychological well-being. The research is designed to analyze how different types of experiences of school violence-victim, perpetrator, victim-perpetrator, and non-involvement-influence students' suicidal impulse and sense of happiness. Empirical data was gained from a national-scale survey conducted by Social Development Research Institute at Yonsei University in 2013, and was analyzed using binary logistic and multiple regression methods. Findings suggest that any types of experiences of school violence had significant effect on suicidal impulse. In particular, the likelihood of victim-perpetrator to experience suicidal impulse was 7.1 times stronger than non-involvement. However, the effect of experiences of school violence on students' sense of happiness was insignificant. While the impact of school violence on sense of happiness among victims and victim-perpetrators was significant, its impact among perpetrators proved insignificant. Rather, stress factor-in particular, stress from peers-had more significant impact on the level of students' happiness. This study contributes to understanding the multiple effect of school violence by examining both negative and positive dimensions of psychological well-being.

Drawing from the Korean Child and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS), this study examined the changes in romantic relationship engagement among Korean adolescents across the country over a three-year period and the effects of the individual, familial, and school characteristics on the experience. Panel logit analysis showed that Korean adolescents were more likely to be engaged in a romantic relationship as they became older. Male adolescents were more likely than their female counterparts to have a romantic partner. The higher scores of self-esteem increased the likelihood of adolescents to be in a romantic relationship. On the other hand, having an opposite-sex sibling, the level of parental warmth, and annual household income did not have a significant relationship with the chance of romantic relationship engagement. On the contrary, all school-related variables were statistically related to the odds of being in a romantic relationship. Going to a sex-mixed school increased the odds, whereas academic adjustment and conformity to school rules decreased the likelihood. In addition, the positive relationships with schoolmates and teachers were associated with a higher chance of having a romantic partner. Based on these findings, the implications, limitations, and future research directions were also suggested.

University dormitories play an important role in both the campus experience and academic achievement, as well as providing the students with their basic necessities. Further, there is a high demand to increase the capacity in order to raise the retention rate and to invite more foreign students. Students' social interaction and sense of community (SOC) also play an important role in reducing the stress associated with studying and home sickness and, consequently, the campus is a place that provides positive opportunities for their personal growth and adaptation into their peer group social culture. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the physical environment of the dormitory facilities on the students' sense of community and social interaction in across-cultural background. The ${\chi}^2$ analysis indicated that individual characteristics exist regarding SOC, however, there were no statistically significant differences between the two cultural groups. The factors of SOC and physical environment were higher in the Korean student group than in the U.S. group. The regression analysis indicated that the U.S. students considered a physically comfortable environment as the primary issue for social interaction, while the Korean group placed more emphasis on a family-oriented home environment. The linear analysis confirmed that satisfaction with the physical environment influenced the social interaction and SOC level. Finally, this study suggests that creating a homely environment is more important than the functioning of the institution in university dormitory planning.

This triangulation study was performed in order to analyze the team competency effect of a capstone design nursing research course, and to appraise the content of team activity experiences. Subjects were 99 nursing students who were educated in the capstone design nursing research at D university. The teamwork competency of nursing students was compared before and after class, and the team activity experiences in the capstone design nursing research class was analyzed through narrative data. Our results show significant increases after class in task performance competency (t=-2.166, p=0.033), which includes goal execution competency (t=-2,224, p=0.028). In the interpersonal competency category, leadership was significantly increased after class (t=-2.085, p=0.040). The 5 categories evaluated were 'difficulties in managing resources', 'aware of the importance of personal effort and competency', 'efforts to effectively distribute roles', 'to realize the importance of communication', and 'strengthen the competency needed for clinical practice'. Through this research, we confirm that the capstone design nursing research course is effective for improving teamwork competency, and it provides a positive team activity experience to nursing students. Taken together, our findings indicate that the capstone design nursing research course can be applied to improve the nursing research competency by strengthening teamwork competency.

This study aimed to evaluate correlation between self-evaluation factors(satisfaction, linkage with major, suitability of management, verbal and non-verbal communication) and academic achievement of medical students according to introduction of explanation meeting in cadaveric dissection. The study was carried out that medical students(n=57) explained cadaveric structure to health allied sciences students and discussed with each other. Just after the meeting,, medical students filled out a questionnaire on impact of self-evaluation factors and communication. We analyzed these factors and their scores using frequency analysis, T-test and analysis of variance. Regardless of their gender, age, previous experience, the majority of the students gave high scores in all of self-evaluation factors. Among them, only verbal communication factor was closely related to their academic achievement(p<0.05). The verbal and non-verbal communication also had a high correlation of 0.673(p<0.01). The explanation meeting provided chance to learn further with positive attitude to medical students and motivated them academically. Additionally, they realized that communication skill played a key role in transmitting medical knowledge to others. Therefore, introduction of communication-based explanation meeting would be very useful tool in improving educational efficiency.
