A Study on the Economical Feasibility Analysis For Development of Dual Mode Trailer System

  • In light of the growing traffic congestion problem and congestion cost, the container transport by railway has to be increased. The freight transport by railway can have decided advantages over trucks in terms of energy efficiency, emissions and cost for certain freight movements, just as transportation in the metropolitan region can have great advantages over driving truck. But the freight transport by truck should gain significant mobility benefits from a freight railway system. Thus, the DMT(Dual Mode Trailer) transport system which is coupled railway transport advantages with load transport advantages has been developed and used in the european countries. The DMT transport will therefore serve the areas required by transport organizers. The purpose of this paper is to estimate economical feasibility analysis for development of DMT transport system. Consequently, this study analyzed the characteristics of the DMT system. The horizontal load.unload system is being considered as an adoptable DMT system in consideration of the situation in Korea.

  • This thesis researches on the application of computer, modern communication, GIS, GPS, AIS and World-Wide-Web in the field of navigation-aids information system, and has realized an integrated system consisted of navigation-aids information GIS platform, navigation-aids monitoring system and navigation-aids information distribution system. This system has strong integration capability, and has realized navigation-aids information distribution based on WEBGIS at the first time. It strongly promotes navigation-aids daily management and maintenance, and this system provides technique guarantee fur ships and marine departments to acquire navigation-aids information in time, by rule and line expediently.

  • 최근 인터넷 사용자의 증가와 고속 네트워크 망을 통한 네트워크 트래픽의 급증으로 효율적인 네트워크 트래픽 관리의 필요성이 더욱 커졌다. 효율적인 트래픽 관리를 위해서는 응용 프로그램 별 트래픽 분류의 연구가 선행되어야 하며 이미 많은 기존 논문에서 응용레벨 트래픽 분류에 대한 다양한 알고리즘을 제시하고 있다. 하지만 P2P기반의 Skype응용에 대해서는 분석율이 떨어져 이에 대한 연구가 더 필요한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 payload 시그니쳐 기반 분석, 기계학습 기반 분석 등 기존의 방법론에 의존하지 않고 Skype응용의 트래픽 특성을 분석해 사용자들의 {IP, port} 리스트를 추출하고 이를 이용해 네트워크 내에 발생하는 Skype응용 프로그램의 트래픽을 정확하게 탐지하는 실시간 탐지 알고리즘을 제안한다 제안된 방법론은 학내 네트워크에 적용하여 그 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • 네트워크의 고속화와 다양한 서비스의 등장으로 오늘날의 네트워크 트래픽은 복잡 다양해지고 있다. 효율적인 네트워크 관리를 위해서는 네트워크에서 발생하는 트래픽에 대한 다양한 분석이 필요하다. QoS, SLA와 같은 정책을 적용하기 위해서는 트래픽 분석 중에서도 트래픽 분류의 중요성이 크다. 현재까지 트래픽 분류에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되어 왔는데 최근에는 플로우의 통계 정보를 이용한 트래픽 분류 방법론이 많이 연구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 연구에서 제안한 페이로드 크기 분포를 이용한 트래픽 분류 방법의 문제점인 낮은 분석률 및 정확도를 향상시키는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법은 PSD 충돌로 인해 분류하지 못하는 트래픽을 IP와 port정보를 이용하여 추가적으로 분류하여 분석률을 향상시키고 기존 분류 방법에서 트래픽 분류를 위해 사용되던 플로우와 시그니쳐 사이의 거리 측정 방법을 벡터 거리 측정에서 패킷 별 거리 측정으로의 변경으로 통해 분류 방법의 정확도를 향상시킨다. 제안한 방법은 학내 망에서의 실험을 통해 기존 알고리즘에 비해 향상된 알고리즘의 성능을 검증한다.

  • VTS 의사결정지원시스템은 관제사들이 선박을 관제함에 있어서, 의사결정을 지원하기 위하여 선박 간 거리 등의 정보를 제공하는 시스템을 의미한다. 본 논문에서는 현재 제정되고 있는 IALA 표준을 중심으로 VTS 의사결정지원 시스템의 구분, 제공하는 경고 정보의 세분화된 정의, 제공되어야 할 경고 기능 등을 분석한다.

한국연안의 해상교통류분석(I) (Macroscopic Analysis of Traffic Flow in the Korean Coastal Waterway)

  • Generally, the development of shipping is characterized by the amount of traffic flow (traffic volume) and seaborne cargo in the sea. Movement of ships is an essential element of constructing the traffic flow which is represented the dynamic movement of ships in the sea, but on the other band the numbers of arriving and departing the port is the basic factor consisting of the static movement of ships. The amount of cargoes by coastal vessels and ocean trade vessels have increased tremendously with the great growth of the Korean economy these days. This increase of the seaborne cargoes has made the Korean coastal traffic flow so congested that this can be a cause of large pollution as well as great marine casualities such as a loss of human lives and properties . And also the future coastal traffic is expected to increase considerably according to our economic development and high dependence upon foreign trade. Under the circumstance, to devise the safety of coastal traffic flow and to take a proper step of a efficient navigation, there is a necessity for analyzing and surveying the coastal traffic trend and the characteristics of cargo movement. In order to grasp the dynamic movement of ships in the Korean coast, O/D analysis is executed. This paper aims to secure the basic data necessary for a comprehensive plan and estimation of vessel traffic management system for the enhancement of safety, order and efficiency of vessel traffic in the Korean coast. The analyzed results of the traffic flow and seaborne cargoes of the Korean coast are summarized as follows : 1) The congestion by the vessels occurred around the ports such as-in proportion of ship's number (proportion of tonnage) -Incheon 18.5%(14.8%), Pohang 5.9% (9.9%), Samil 5.2%(8.3%), Mokpo 8.6%(0.8%), Pusan 13.5%(36.4%), Ulsan 9.1%(16.2%). 2) It is found that the area adjacent to Incheon, Pusan, Ulsan, Channel of Hanryu and South-western area are heavily congested. 3) It is confirmed thatthe area adjacent to Incheon, Pusan, Ulsan, Channel of Hanryu and South-western area are heavily congested. 3) It is confirmed that the coastal vessels are main elements constituting the coastal traffic and that there are much traffic flow among five ports as following through the precise O/D analysis of ship's coastal movement. Incheon-Samil, Ulsan, Pusan, Jeju Pusan -Samil, Ulsan, Incheon, Jeju Pohang -Samil, Inchoen, Jeju Pohang -Samil, Incheon, Jeju Ulsan -Samil, Incheon, Jeju Samil -Ulsan, Pusan, Incheon 4) The amount of cargoes to abroad are in proportion about 81% of total and the amount of coastal cargoes are about 19%. Of those, cargoes in and out to Japan are about 26% and to South-east Asia are about 27%. 5) The chief items of foreign cargoes are oil(38.33%), iron ore(13.98%), bituminoous coal(12.74%), grain(8.02%), lumber(6.45%) in the import cargoes and steel material(21.96%), cement(17.16%), oil(6.81%), fertilizer(3.80%) in the export cargoes. 6) The 80.5% of total export cargoes and 92.4% of total import cargoes are flowed in five main ports. 7) The chief items of coastal cargoes are oil (42.45%), cement(16.86%), steel material (6.49%), anthracite(6.31%), mineral product(4.3%), grain, and fertilizer. Almost 92.24% of total import and export oil cargoes in Korea is loaded and unloaded at the port of Samil & Ulsan.

  • All activities relate to railway traffic involve risk and that these arise from a combination of the nature of operating activities. Proper management system is required to provide the organizational capability to reveal, analyse and address these weaknesses over time and in reasonably practicable ways, which will determine the rate at which risks can be further reduced. This paper presents a systematic risk analysis approach to safety planning and decision making, informed by a range of risk assessment techniques. An railway organization's safety management system is also presented that shows the approaches taken to minimize the external risks, and identify the shared risks and explain how they will be controlled through collaboration with others.

웹 기반 Home PNA 장치 관리 시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Web-based Home PNA Device Management System)

  • 본 논문에서는 Home Phoneline Neworking Aliance(Home PNA) 장치에 연결된 많은 가입자들로부터 야기될수 있는 대역폭 서비스 불균형 현상을 해결하고 이 장비를 이용하는 가입자들을 관리하기 위한 웹 기반 Home PNA 장치 관리시스템을 구현하였다. Simple-Net-work Managment Protocol(SNMP) 를 탑대한 Home PNA장치를 관리하기 위해서 관리항목을 Muti Dewling Unit(MDU) 장비으 Management Information Base(MB)로 부터 추출한 MIB 오브젝트를 이용하여 시스템관리, 포트관리, 성능관리, 장애관리로 분류하였다. 시스템관리는 개별 MDU 장비에 대해 구성정보를 제공하고, 포트관리는 현재 가입되어 있는 가입자에 대한 현황정보를 제공하고 비인가 가입자에 대한 필터링을 수행한다 그리고 성능관리는 트렁크 라인과 가입자 라인의 트랙픽 정보를 제공한다. 마지막으로 장애관리는 예외 상황에 대한 장애로그 및 trap 메시지를 제공한다. 구현된 시스템의 운영성을 시험하기 위하여 실제 네트워크에서 그 동작성을 검증하였다.

  • 해상교통 분야와 같이 선박, 항해사, 관제센터, 해운선사, 기상시스템, 지리정보시스템 등의 복잡하고 넓은 범위의 요구사항을 갖는 시스템의 모델링 및 시뮬레이션(Modeling and Simulation, M&S)을 위해서는 인간을 포함한 체계가 필요하다. 해상교통을 모의하기 위해서는 주요 요소인 항해사의 인적요인에 대한 모델링이 필요하다. 즉, 현실감 있는 해상교통 상황의 재현 및 예측을 위해 항해사의 행동양식, 항해전문성, 항해오류 등을 모델링하여 반영하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 에이전트 기반의 해상교통 시뮬레이션을 위해서 항해사의 충돌회피를 위한 행동 분석을 수행하였으며, 기초 데이터의 확보를 위해 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사를 통해 분석된 정보를 이용하여 선박 충돌상황에서 항해사의 행동과 유사한 에이전트 기반의 항해행동 모델을 개발하였으며, 해상교통분석 시뮬레이션 플랫폼의 개발을 위해 활용될 것이다.

컨테이너 연안해송 활성화에 관한 연구 -부산항을 중심으로- (On Promoting the Coastal Transport of Container)

  • There has been fast progress in economy in Korea derived by a consecutive five-year plan program for economic development started in the early 1960's. In the field of transportation, rapid changes in the technological environment of transportation and communication have brought a revolution of the transport system, of which inter-modal transportation through containerisation is typical. Because of the rapidly growing traffic volumes of cargo, especially container traffic, and lack of investment into transport infrastructure in the past, both road and railway are beyond their capacity. As a result, the public-road network has suffered a serious congestion problem. For instance, in relation to the corridor between Seoul and Pusan, today, it takes about 14 hours for the journey of container trailer through Kyongbu Expressway, for which it used to take only 7 hours in 1986. For the railway, though the congestion problem is not very serious compared with the road sector, a shortage of capacity on certain main lines has emerged as a problem as railway traffic has increased. Furthermore, the further expansion of the system in near future is difficult due to burden of higher construction the cost. Unlike these two modes, coastal shipping, which has been paid relatively less attention for commodity transport in Korea, shows no constraint in this respect. In addition, it is the most cost efficient mode of transport. This work therefore aims to make a proposal for the alternative inland transportation mode, which is to promote the coastal transport of container. Three obstructing factors for the promotion of the coastal transport are investigated and some solutions for those are suggested as follows : First, it appears to be essential to provide exclusive ports for the coastal shipping, that comply with simplification, specialization and rationalization. The optimum size of berths on the exclusive ports in Pusan port is estimated as 16-20. We found that it needs periodical study and publicity on the advantages from the adoption of the coastal mode. Inducing competition in the coastal shipping market is also necessary. For the supply of the fleet in the coastal shipping, chartering of the surplus ships in the oversea shipping is found to be more desirable than new shipbuilding. Second, to solve the fragmentation of the companies which wish to participate in the coastal transport, government has to implement the subsidy policy. The encouragement of participation of the shipping lines engaging in Korea-Japan run and Korea-East South Asia run, into coastal shipping also needs to be considered cautiously. Third, simplification of the document for entry in ports is needed for rational coastal shipping management. We can use B/L (Bill of Lading) for coastal shipping as a prerequisite to get the indemnity by P & I Club. The reduction of the government controls on entering and leaving the ports also needs.
