  • This paper deals with a reduction in the setting shrikage of polymer concrete using bentonite as shrinkage reducing agent. This study with polymer concrete using unsaturated polyester(UP) based on recycled PET waste was performed to verify the effect of various shrinkage reducing agent contents and the types of filler which are fly ash and $CaCo_3$. Setting stress induced by setting shrinkage was investigated in temrs of mechanical and chemical combination.

  • This study was performed to evaluate the compressive and flexural strength, void ratio and permeability coefficient used powdered waste glass, $CaCO_3$, recycled coarse aggregate and unsaturated polyester resin to find optimum mix design of permeable polymer concrete for pavement. The compressive and flexural strength of permeable polymer concrete for pavement using powdered waste glass were in the range of 16.8~19.7 MPa and 4.7~6.1 MPa, respectively. it was satisfied the regulation of permeable concrete for pavement (18 MPa and 4.5 MPa). The void ratio and permeability coefficient were decreased with increasing the powdered waste glass, respectively. The void ratio and permeability coefficient were satisfied national regulation of permeable concrete for pavement (8 % and $1{\times}10^{-2}$ cm/s). In addition, this study found out that required amount of binder was decreased with increasing the powdered waste glass. This fact is expected to have economical effects during the use of powdered waste glass in the manufacture of permeable polymer concrete for pavement. Accodingly, the powdered waste glass can be used for permeable concrete material.

  • As a trend of construction has become high-rise and larger, it is necessary to reduce the self-weight of structures and buildings. One of the most effective methods to reduce the self-weight of structures and buildings is to use the lightweight aggregate concrete. To complement the strength of the lightweight aggregate concrete, polymer was added to concrete's mixing. In this study, experiments to make the moderate mixing proportion of polymer modified lightweight concrete were performed. Also the hardened concrete tests were performed to investigate the physical characteristics of the polymer-modified lightweight aggregate concrete. As a result, the flexural strength was increased by a small quantity of SBR Latex. Based on the test results the estimating equation was proposed through the regression analysis.

  • While a little research has been peformed on flexural behavior of reinforced polymer concrete (RPC)beams with the compressive strength lower than 900kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ vary little exists in conjunction with the behavior of RPC 1,000kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ or higher in compressive strength. In this paper the flexural performance of high strength polymer concrete beams with 1,450kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in compressive strength was evaluated. The unsaturated polyester resin was used to make polymer concrete as binder. The beams with stirrup singly/doubly were tested to examine the effect of tensile reinforcement ratio. As test results, reinforcement ratio increased with the increase moment strength, decreased with ultimate deflection, ductility index.

  • Permeable polymer concrete can be applied to roads, sidewalks, river embankment, drain pipes, conduits, retaining walls, yards, parking lots, plazas, interlocking blocks, etc.. This study was to explore a possibility of using stone dust and heavy calcium carbonate as fillers for the permeable polymer concrete. Different mixing pro-portions were tried to find an optimum mixing proportion of the permeable polymer concrete. The tests were carried out at 20 f 1 t and 60 ${\pm}$ 2% relative humidity. At 7 days of curing, compressive, flexural and splitting tensile strengths and water permeability ranged between 209~246kgf/cm$^2$, 101 ~ l2lkgf/cm$^2$, 36~52kgf/cm$^2$ and 3.076 ~ 4.390L/cm$^3\;^2$/hr, respectively. It was concluded that the stone dust and heavy calcium carbonate could be used in the permeable polymer concrete.

  • This study is performed to examine properties of polymer permeability concrete using recycled coarse aggregate and blast furnace slag for application of structures needed permeability. Tests for compressive strength, flexural strength and pulse velocity with replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate are performed. As a result, compressive strength, flexural strength and coefficient of permeability of polymer permeability concrete containing recycled coarse aggregate are in the range of $180{\sim}200kgf/cm^2,\;58{\sim}64kgf/cm^2\;and\;4.6{\times}10^{-2}{\sim}6.9{\times}10^{-2}cm/s$, respectively. Compressive strength, flexural strength and pulse velocity of polymer concrete containing crushed stone only are $192kgf/cm^2,\;65kgf/cm^2\;and\;6.1{\times}10^{-2}cm/s$, respectively. Accordingly, recycled coarse aggregate is expected that can be utilizing as an aggregate of polymer permeability concrete.

  • This study is performed to evaluate performance of the developed pipe when using for underground drainage in fm land, the efficiency of the pipe is examined such as quantity of drainage, water temperature and other field performance in all weather condition. Results of this study, the higher permeability through wall of the pipe is achieved by making various size pores using open-graded aggregate. And in all weather conditions, permeable polymer concrete pipe perform much better than conventional perforated pipes. During rice farming period, quantity of drainage the permeable polymer concrete pipe is 1.25 time greater than conventional perforated pipes. Therefore, use of the permeable polymer concrete pipe is greater advantages when considering collecting and draining capacity compared with conventional perforated pipes.
