Managing hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) becomes an important issue with the amendment of the Clean Air Conservation Act in 2012. In this study, to develop an effective air quality management policy direction against the HAPs in Korea, (1) the HAPs control policies in the USA, United Kingdom, Japan, and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SQAQMD) are reviewed, (2) the state of the art of the HAPs management in Korea are studied, and (3) policy directions are suggested. It was found that each country has its own policy priority and management directions. It was also found that the current HAPs management status is far behind to the countries compared in HAPs identification, emission inventory, monitoring, modeling, and risk management. Further policy directions are suggested.

The study aims to explore the policy directions for young farmers within Korean agricultural context, particularly in Chung-nam Province. In order to accomplish this, young farmers were classified into three categories: successors, new farmers, potential farmers. The importance of young farmers is becoming more of a focus due to decline of population numbers in rural communities as well as the aging of agriculture population. In order to address these two problems, it is necessary to create and implement policy to support each category of young farmer. Rather than the current focus on nurturing young farmers as a labor force, the role of young farmers in maintaining local communities should be expanded in current agricultural system. The local community should provide appropriate conditions for young farmers in Chung-nam Province for the various purposes they have and the roles they fill. In conclusion, it is necessary to provide a 'space' where young farmers can meet base on the community. For this, the role of the community based intermediate support organization for the integrated support system is of great significance.

Freight transport by railway is gaining more attention at present as a countermeasure against global warming. In keeping with this purpose, the present study examined various methods for promoting railway use through minimization of the transfer resistance of bulk freight at railway stations. First, the transfer-related factors that shippers consider as important when choosing railway as a transport mode were identified. Also, the relative importance and the level of influence of each factor during the transfer stage were evaluated. Policy directions for reducing transfer resistance in railway stations were then proposed based on the analysis of the transfer resistance factors. The policy directions include both hardware and software approaches. The necessary reduction ranges with regard to the transfer cost and time through policy implementation efforts were suggested as well.

The National Health Plan 2030 (HP2030) started to be prepared in 2017 and was completed and announced in December 2020. This study presents an overview of how it was established, the major changes in policies, its purpose, and future directions. This study analyzed the steps taken in the past 4 years to establish HP2030 and reviewed major issues at the international and governmental levels based on an evaluation of HP2020 and its content. HP2030 establishes 6 divisions and 28 topic areas, and it will continue to expand investments in health with a total budget of 2.5 trillion Korean won. It also established goals to enhance health equity for the first time, with the goal of calculating healthy life expectancy in a way that reflects the circumstances of Korea and reducing the gap in income and healthy life expectancy between regions. The establishment of HP2030 is significant in that it constitutes a sustainable long-term plan with sufficient preparation, contains policy measures that everyone participates in and makes together, and works towards improvements in universal health standards and health equity. With the announcement of HP2030, which includes goals and directions of the national health policy for the next 10 years, it will be necessary to further strengthen collaboration with relevant ministries, local governments, and agencies in various fields to concretize support for prevention-centered health management as a national task and to develop a health-friendly environment that considers health in all policy areas.

This study is aimed at finding policy directions for Korean fisheries and fishing villages by using Delphi method for fisheries experts. Fisheries experts have highly evaluated the achievements of fostering aquaculture industry, seafood export support measures, and natural disasters relief and recovery arrangements among the policies promoted as so far. And it was recognized that policies such as fishery resources management, creation and recovery of fishery resources, improvement hygiene and seafood safety, and provision young fishermen with training and capacity building will be important. Future megatrends, for example changes in food consumption pattern, climate change, and demographic structure changes are expected to have a significant impact on fisheries and fishing villages. The Delphi survey indicates that the most important policy objective is to secure a stable fisheries production. In other words, fisheries policy in the future should be aimed at suppling sustainable seafood for popular consumption. Finding strategies and action plans that can achieve this goal will be an important policy issue. In conclusion, it is necessary that a number of fundamental researches carry out in Korea, which can lead to finding out a multifunctionality of fisheries and fishing village. In addition, it is important to expand the scope of fisheries policy, which can consider not only the fisheries producers but also seafood consumer's and young fishermen perspectives. Furthermore, it recommends that fishery policy needs to include fishery related industry as well as application of 4th industrial revolution technology to fishery.

The study focuses on the problems of store space supply in apartment sites and suggests policy directions for the problem. Based on the results of field survey and site reconnaissance, this study identifies following problems and policy directions. First, the stores do not meet consumers various demand due to item limitations with small size. Consequently, there are many closed and/or unsold stores with high vacancy rates, Second, there is a tendency that the closed store rate becomes higher as apartment size becomes smaller. We suggest some law and regulation amendment that make store supply optional rather than mandatory in the case of small apartment site construction.

Leisure is an important part of life for the elderly. The purpose of this study is to suggest directions of leisure policy for the elderly. For this purpose, this study investigated the trends of aging society, and analyzed the characteristics of the elderly in aging society. Also this study examined the level of leisure life among the elderly and their needs for leisure. Finally, this study analyzed the actual condition of public facilities for leisure and the problems in public facilities for the elderly. At the conclusions, this study suggested several directions of leisure policy for the elderly that enhance their leisure life quality.

As the demand for high-performance semiconductors, such as chips for artificial intelligence and high-bandwidth memory devices, increases along with the limitations of ultrafine processing technology in the semiconductor in-line process, advanced packaging becomes an increasingly important breakthrough technology for further improving semiconductor performance. Major countries, including Korea, the United States, Taiwan, and China, and large companies are strengthening their technological industry capabilities through the development of advanced packaging technology and policy support. Nevertheless, Korea has a lower level of development of related technologies by approximately 66% compared with the most advanced countries. Therefore, we aim to discover the needs for an advanced packaging research and development (R&D) policy through written expert interviews and importance satisfaction analysis. As a result, various implications for R&D policy directions are suggested to strengthen the technological capabilities and R&D ecosystem of the Korean advanced packaging technology.

This study aimed at suggesting management policy directions for the uninhabited islands of Korea which are national land resources with economic potential for tourism and development and strategic value for boundary delineation of territorial waters and exclusive economic zone as well as their unique ecological status. Review of existing management arrangements related to the uninhabited islands revealed six management issues to be addressed: insufficient data and their low reliability, lack of management policy directions, increase in ecosystem deterioration and perturbation by human activities, lack of policy measures for meeting utilization and development demands, weak management base with insufficient personnel and budget, and legal measures not taking Into account their unique ecological and socioeconomic characteristics. The management policy directions to improve the management of the uninhabited islands of Korea include management directions and strategies, and suggestions for legal improvement. Considering the unique ecological value of the uninhabited islands, management directions suggested are anti-degradation in which current and future demands for their utilization and development do not degrade the ecological potential of the uninhabited islands and integration in which land and sea areas are managed as an integrated management unit. Four strategies proposed to follow the management directions are enhancement of the knowledge base through a comprehensive survey, development and legislation of guidelines for the rational management of utilization and development demands, establishment of the comprehensive island debris collection and disposal system, and enhancement of management capacity. Legal improvement for the effective implementation of the management policy directions should include comprehensive uninhabited islands survey, legal utilization restraints and management guidelines based on classification of the islands, management boundary, and improvement of regulations on designated islands.

Each country's progresses of logistics policy frameworks give us the picture of logistics policy system to develop and contents of logistics policies suggest items to pursue as a national logistics programme.
