  • The objective of this study is to find out whether policy acceptance(attitude formation and intention of action) is affected by the message appeals(rational vs. emotional) when policy PR messages emphasize prosociality, and by various factors such as trust in government, involvement, and demographic factors as moderating variables. Although message appeals does not show any difference by itself, interaction effect is observed between trust in government and message appeals; the rational appeal is more effective to those with low trust in government while the emotional appeal is more effective to those with high trust. No other interaction effect is founded but involvement, gender, and age group show important main effect in policy acceptance; high-involvement group and female group are more favorable in attitude toward prosocial policy and behavior intention compare to the each of counterparts, whereas older group is more favorable in behavior intention.

  • In the 21st century, Internet information has a huge impact on citizens' participation in public policy process and trust in government. If the quality of Internet information is more positively perceived, the impact will be greater. In order to identify that causal relation, we construct the elements which make up the quality of Internet information and then analyze the impact of that quality on citizens' participation in public policy process and trust in government. First, positive perception about the quality of Internet information increases online participation and decreases offline participation in public policy process. Second, online participation activates offline participation significantly. Third, offline participation has a negative impact on trust in government. In sum, the quality of Internet information activates online participation, which, in turn, contributes a lot to an increase in offline participation and eventually weakens trust in government. On the other hand, the improved quality of Internet information weakens offline participation in public policy process and could contribute to the improvement of trust in government.

  • In this paper, we examined the causes of information privacy concerns, trust and related factors in social network services. On the basis of the 'elaboration likelihood model,' we established factors such as information quality, privacy policy, perceived SNS app popularity and optimism bias affecting information privacy concern of SNS users. In addition, we analyzed the relationship between information privacy concern, trust in SNS members, trust in SNS platform and intention to use. Finally, on the basis of the 'trust transfer theory', we analyzed the relationship between trust in SNS members and trust in SNS platform. The results of the study showed that (1) information quality, privacy policy and optimism bias had the significant effects on information privacy concerns, (2) perceived SNS app popularity didn't affect information privacy concerns, (3) information privacy concerns had the significant effects on trust in SNS platforms (4) in accordance with the trust transfer theory, trust in SNS members had the significant effect on trust in SNS platforms, and (5) trust in SNS members had the significant effect on intention to use, while trust in SNS platform didn't have the significant effect on intention to use. The findings of the study are expected to help to improve the SNS firms' understanding towards customers' information privacy protection behaviors and trust.

  • In recent years, there have been frequent incidents of invasion of national defense networks by insiders. This trend can be said to disprove that the physical network separation policy currently applied by the Korea Ministry of National Defense can no longer guarantee military cyber security. Therefore, stronger cybersecurity measures are needed. In this regard, Zero Trust with a philosophy of never trusting and always verifying is emerging as a new alternative security paradigm. This paper analyzes the zero trust establishment trends currently being pursued by the US Department of Defense, and based on the implications derived from this, proposes a zero trust establishment plan tailored to the Korean military. The zero trust establishment plan tailored to the Korean military proposed in this paper includes a zero trust establishment strategy, a plan to organize a dedicated organization and secure budget, and a plan to secure zero trust establishment technology. Compared to cyber security based on the existing physical network separation policy, it has several advantages in terms of cyber security.
